Part of my morning routine is making a nice cup of coffee and sitting outside (weather permitting) to enjoy the fresh air, plants, and wildlife. Bumble, the cat, always joins me too. I’m saving the coffee grounds to use later in the video - a great excuse to drink more coffee!
While sitting and drinking my coffee, I spotted a Yellow Barred Longhorn Moth, an unusual daytime moth known for its incredibly long antennae.
I’m a bit behind with my vegetable garden; in this video, I’m preparing the beds and planting French beans and cucumbers in the greenhouse. This year, I’m growing a purple bean called “Blauhilde,” a green cucumber called “Akito,” and a round yellow one called “Crystal Lemon.”
I’m trying different ways of stopping slugs - using the coffee grounds from earlier, crushed eggshells, and copper rings. I also have to put netting around my beds to keep badgers, deer, and rabbits away. I think the best way to keep slug numbers down is to encourage wildlife that eats them. If you haven’t seen it, check out this video: • The Best Natural Slug ... .
I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching! If you like my videos, please give a thumbs up, subscribe, and/or leave a comment.
