An exercise in minimalism and my 1st jam on ADHD meds

Well this is an interesting one. Slight personal post here, read over if you like. Essentially this is an exercise in making something more minimal than usual.
I recently got diagnosed for ADHD and Autism. Apparently autism isn't a 'disorder' for me any more cuz i've spent all my life learning how to present as 'normal' (i disagree with this but whatever) and the ADHD is very prominent hence i looked into and am now trialling some medication.
Anyways. Another general goal i've been wanting to focus on - and it is very much tied to ADHD i think - is minimalism in my music. I know i tend to throw loads of melody and ideas at things and usually too much. One thing i've noticed immediately with these meds is the constant noise in my head has quietened down and so i'm very much interested in how this affects my creativity.
This jam was great to me anyway. i actually intended to do something shorter but it felt natural and without the urge i usually get to move things on quickly. i used some longer tape loops i've been experimenting with too - around 12 secs at high speed - which i think also helps with the pacing.
If you've read this far, thanks. I'll try not to be really annoying with it but i am intending to document how these meds affect me so i can be objective about how they work and maybe it will be helpful for anyone else in or near the same process. x

It’s all about you, and your creativity. It doesn’t really matter what others think. You know, like if you did or didn’t add too much or not enough of something. I like what you do, that’s why I’m here along with your other subscribers. I like this kind of headspace, and I consider it Art For The Ears. Thank you for posting. Niice!

Everything is as it should be they say. Space for all. I love this jam especially, so moody and organic.

Well I, for one, am stoked to see how this pans out for you. I've loved your work since I first heard it and already thought of it as fairly minimal but I guess it's all relative. And I totally understand about wanting to put "usually too much" into things. I Want to make Ambient, but I usually end up making pseudo-neo-classical garbage..... Anyway, Cheers and I will definitely be staying tuned...

@@trnngthngs thank you so much for this. yeah i definitely have a tendency to throw too much in or move things along most of the time but i’d like to improve my ability to stay focused on a moment or a vibe if i can! anyway, glad you like it and indeed it is all relative. keep trying if you wanna make some ambient things. it might just take some time and experimentation to get to the place you want to get to? cheers
