An Exhausting (But Fulfilling) Weekly Update! (June 30, 2024)

I was thinking of doing some for Stephen King reads as well :) I still need to watch Band Of Brothers! Last week was super intense work wise, but hoping I can start this week!

This is a fantastic idea actually!! There are particular aspects about the ending I have theories on, would be so much fun to do a deep dive. My favorite ending too!! Great idea of also contacting Mike and seeing about scheduling something - I’ve been wanting to for a while, and this might be the perfect reason to! Really appreciate the input Jake! 😊

That’s so great to hear! I’ve never read any of Mariana Zapata’s books - would you say that’s a good place to start?

I feel you on that! I don't like it quite as much as Fall Of Giants so far, but I still really love it! It's great when a book that's not as good still feels like a 5 star read hahah. I'll post a review on the third one as soon as I finish- sometime in July!

@Shelf-Esteem I'll definitely check it out, I find horror soundtracks intriguing, it must be challenging creating an atmosphere of dread with sound and music. I approached La Belle Sauvage with caution as HDM is possibly my favourite ever book series but LBS is a perfect prequel, the characters and world building are brilliant and for a reasonably big book (550 pages) the words just fly off the page, highly recommended. I listened to a lot of bands over the weekend, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pantera, Maiden, Dio, ZZ Top, Skid Row, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Iced Earth, Metallica, Opeth, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Kataklysm, Cradle of Filth, Rivers of Nihil, Mastodon, Austrian Death Machine and Damh the Bard. It was so good listening to full albums rather than a playlist.
