A relaxing playthrough tutorial: "Do what you want when it occurs to you. There is no rush, there are no deadlines. Everything can occur again. You can always try that quest again another time, there will always be another season, and you can reset your day if you mess up big. Take your time and have fun."
The problem is the time until "another time." Can be three months in case of some fish, can be three years in case of the paintings. Can be decades if you want a particular spouse weapon from the Desert Festival. So there _are_ things that will inevitably come 'round down the road, but the wait time might as well render them "missed for good." Or at least make you feel like you've bottlenecked yourself *hard* .
@@RobertKoch-fv5wp his whole gimmick is forcing a challenge run mind set, he is the reason achieving perfection which causes much of the stress about stuff is such a big deal, he's an arrogant stop having fun guy, he is the person telling you your dark souls progress doesn't count because you didn't do it the way they wanted,
During the iridium scythe segment, it was worth mentioning that harvesting by hand still has the advantage of the animation pausing the clock. It's faster to harvest with the scythe in real time, but it comes at the cost of in-game hours, thus eating into your plans for the harvest day.
Honestly by then you should be already in the boring stage of getting enough money for perfection and crafting recipes as most of NPCs are maxed out. So by then there is really nothing to do other than harvest, sleep until Monday get some qi gems and yeah. Iridium scythe save irl time
I got to floor 216 after showing up to skull caverns at 11 am using the "no bomb damage" effect and just bringing a shitload of mega bombs. Didn't use a single staircase! There's a special pleasure in just carpet bombing skull caverns and having Mr Qi tell you that you're "honorable"
0:49 [Spouse Name], look! It's from Morris! "Dear pesky farmer, Joja Mart and I have taken over Stardew Valley. The Mayor is now a permanent guest at one of our seven Joja Hotels. I dare you to find him if you can!"
Kind of a bummer that the frogs and fairies get different color variants but the parrot doesn't. I know there's other parrot sprites in the game, so what gives? But thank you as usual, Sal, for a really in-depth explanation of new mechanics. (I play Switch and am living vicariously through PC players at the moment.)
thank you for making these. I cant push stardew back onto myself when I’m fixating on something else but I get excited to have your videos to marathon later
@@kaylahaasnot the original commenter but I do the same thing! I tend to cycle between stardew valley, graveyard keeper, coral island, and more different games like No Man’s Sky or Astroneer. I was also completely locked into Outer Wilds for a WHILE and it’s still the best game I’ve ever played
just a few things i thought were helpful to add: the iridium scythe can be used to harvest berry bushes which i find helpful in cindersap forest, if you have the treasure appraisal guide then dinosaur eggs get the artifact price buff so it's way more profitable to sell the eggs and is affected by quality/friendship, the heavy furnace is goated since you need 5 times less space and can click them 5 times faster, and especially if you're a parrot girlie like me throw the anvil recipe in the trash since each level of egg has an equal chance to drop once you unlock it so you'll be swimming in level 4 parrots
@pancake7117 youtube might have bugged. From what I remember, your video doesn't post the moment you hit post, it has to render and took a while quite a few years ago so my friend would hit post and it wouldn't post until like an hour of so later depending on the length and resolution of the video
@@FaLLeN3421 i think your taking it to seriously, he made separate videos so people could easily watch one (ie; combat) then leave it at that, people requested him to combine them all into a full video so he did exactly that, its just simple content creation. if you don't want to watch someone "milk" content, then...don't lol
@@FaLLeN3421personally I really like that the videos are uploaded individually and then made into one big video, and to my knowledge a lot of other people do as well. This seems to be a situation where increasing views and general viewer enjoyment coincide
I used crap pots to max mastery. I purchased ~350,000g worth of crab pots from willy and laid them down the right side of the island farm, the stream at the bottom of town, and over then entire beach. each day I walk the entire trap line and collect and rebait (at lvl 10 fishing I took the perk that eliminates the need for bait) my trap line makes ~15,000g/day and 5xp/crap pot/day this dominates any other method on the list IMHO.
kinda wish (because it would be funny) that if you’d read the dwarvish safety manual and got the blessing that made it so bombs don’t do damage to you the bombs just healed you for the amount that the manual would reduce. so like heals you for 25% of the damage the bomb would do or however much it is i forgot. it’s not gonna happen but like it would be funny
hey man! i used to watch your videos when I first started playing the game. your challenges are always so entertaining and i thought it was really cool seeing you come up with creative ways to complete them! I stopped playing a while back but have just gotten back into it and am overwhelmed with all the new additions :,) this guide was really helpful and im really glad to see you're still making stardew content! keep it up king
It'd be nice if you could do a video for all the events in stardew valley now that there's also more events like trout derby and desert festival as well new layouts and stuff for the older ones like the feast of the winter star and stuff. There's a lot to keep track of now and I keep losing track of things.
I got Blessing of the Waters. My 3rd fish was the Crimsonfish. It was ridiculously easier to catch. (I used the advance iridium rod, cork bobber, lead bobber, and deluxe bait.)
Lost my sh*t at 21:56 because the only thing I've been doing for WEEKS is relistening to TAZ: Balance and MBMBaM while playing through 1.6 😭 love the McElroys so much
@@erc3338 TAZ - The Adventure Zone, and MBMBaM - My Brother, My Brother, and Me. They're the podcasts ran by the McElroy brothers, with TAZ being their Dungeons and Dragons podcast.
For the treasure spot totem in foresting mastery,I believe the omni geode is 100% spawn rate on wiki as sometimes it gives you multiple omni geodes, for example if it gave you 2 all the time but only 50% it means for one omni it could be 200% or 0% equating to 100%
30:05 i actually used the Legend II strat for most of my money making late game, but instead of your loadout my go-to was quality bobber+trap bobber (i think cork bobber would work just as well) with any bait (i used deluxe bait but on second thought, wild bait might be better since you always have a chance to get a bonus afaik). if you spend the entire 3 day period just trying to hook the Legend II then the targeted bait, while useful, is in my opinion not worth wasting the fish. if you want to maximalize the #grind, it's a good idea to craft a few tents and sleep right by the lake. my best 'score' with my set up was over 500k but it's dependent on rng. either way, i found it a fun way to actively play while waiting for all the wine to finish. also, when i didn't have the extended family quest, i would typically head to the volcano and try to get lava eels with the same setup. if I got lucky, it also paid quite well, but I found it more enjoyable to go after the Legend :-)
i especially disagree with the targeted bait strat, since 1) sacrificing a legendary fish is criminal, 2) i can't imagine giving up the master enchantment for anything else. i guess one level isn't that much of a difference if you set it up carefully but i usually don't have seafoam pudding and just go wild with literally anything that has +anything fishing
Might be a weird calcculation, but assuming, that you sometimes get more than one Omnigeode, it probably adds up, that you get at least one OG for every artifact spot.
Came here because I got a parrot egg trinket within a day of picking this mastery class and wanted to know if it was worth switching to the frog lol I guess not
for the blessing of the butterfly, if you have stardew expanded, can it venture into the added on parts of the valley? there was a day i got the butterfly and reset my day twice trying to find it before giving up.
There was audio last time too, RU-vid just published before finishing audio processing for some reason, then all of the people clicking off of the video immediately tanked it lol
I only have one 1.6 save at the moment, and decided to use the Mouseypounds Stardew Predictor. I'm not sure if it's just the game seed that I've got, but my golden mystery boxes seem to have better loot under the 'without farming mastery' column, than under the 'with farming mastery'. Like, I would have had 7 chances to get an auto-petter without farming mastery, before seeing my first auto-petter at 733 with farming mastery. Of course, I didn't notice this until after I'd already got the farming mastery. I'm not sure if this is a thing, or just this save, but I want to start a new save soon, just to check.
Since it seems no one answered this for you yet... yes, they can, but only if you actually lock them outside overnight. If you have animals already outside, and then close the coop/barn door and go to bed without letting them go inside, there's a decent chance for an event to trigger during the night where one of your animals is eaten by a wild animal. There's no way to get it back, it's gone from the game. And the next day when you pet the other animals it will say something about them being spooked, and something bad must have happened during the night. This is easy to prevent though, since you can either make sure all animals are inside before closing the door, or simply leave the door open, and the animals go inside on their own. They don't die from anything else, like old age or illness or anything. Hope this helps.
@@KeyWiteWolf I never knew! Thank you for sharing. I just always leave the doors open and close during winter. I wanna try locking them out to see for myself what happens, but I'm one of those types where I don't want to purposely inflict harm onto my video game characters or animals, despite them not being real 😭
@@dom_uhhh Yeah, I also just leave the doors open for them. Though now that grass can persist in winter (though new grass does not grow), I might leave it open in winter too. Surprisingly it doesn't effect the indoor heater working or not. And good luck on trying to trigger the event. I am the same, I hate doing something to hurt the characters or animals on purpose. But, I suppose you could also look up a video on it, to see what happens.
We need 1.6 to hurry up to mobile. I really hope CA doesn’t take two whole ass years again. Seriously don’t understand with the money he has made, why they don’t hire some people to help.
This one is not a tutorial on how to complete anything, it's a guide breaking down each Mastery path's rewards, and a bit of how useful they are. He pretty much tells you, almost word for word in the beginning, that you can get Mastery by just playing the game. This guide is useful for a lot of people though because the rewards for each path are not always very well explained, and a lot of people might not fully know what they do, or might not know which things they want the most. I find it handy since it helps me decide what order to unlock the Mastery paths in, based on which reward sets I think will help my current playthrough, or synergize with something else I already unlocked.
