An Honest Comparison of a Chinese Clone 372

The test results from the out of the box run, then with the Walbro carburetor, and then compared to an OEM Jonsered 2171...are absolutely absurd! I hate these results, but the speak...LOUDLY.

Been watching for a long time and love your video's. You mentioned that it was running way to rich, I built a farmertec 372 kit about 4 months ago that had a very similar problem. I would turn the high jet in all the way and still was running pig rich. I also though that it couldn't be an air leak. I tinkered with it for weeks, rebuilt the carb, adjusted the metering lever, replaced impulse line, tried several different plugs and nothing worked. I decided to take some brake clean and spray around the intake boot when running. It cut off every time. So i put an OEM boot, hose clamp and carb on it and it completely fixed the issue. It runs consistently around 12,500 with 1 and a half turns on the high jet. I still don't understand how that makes sense because it was running super rich but apparently had an air leak at the intake boot. Thought it was interesting that the symptoms you are having seemed to be similar to mine.

Your limited coil can hold down your rev’s even though you have a super lean condition going on in your combustion chamber… that’s what kills so many saw’s… the little husky 350’s had a plastic clip on the intake that would fail very often but because they have that limited coil curve they will just hit the 11-12k and then they have a gate open and it omits every other spark so it can’t rev higher even though it really should be… the additional air makes the engine lean and it slowly starts to begin the aluminum transfer from the piston skirt to the cylinder walls and they crew themselves apart! That’s why I run 32:1 usually… so I have a little extra time to hear an issue and catch it possibly before it’s absolute catastrophic failure immediately like what happens on 50:1… 😁👍. The technique of shooting stater fluid through the tube at your seals and intake boot and cylinder and carburetor base is a fantastic technique anytime you think something ain’t sounding right… open up the fuel cap and add a good cap full of oil to you mixture!!! It’s helping keep it lubricated in the lean condition!!!

I enjoy "tinkering" with them and given my limited experience with the holzfforma stihl clones, I think I'll give neotec a little more time before I buy from them. Farmertec/holzfforma seem to slowly but surely be remedying the common issues, hopefully neotec follows suit🤞 That's honestly too bad you're having those problems😕 keep at it! Surely you'll find the issues and have a sweet runner soon😎

My experience has only been with the farmertec 372s. One is a 65cc the other 70. I had a coil fail on the orange one. I have cut quite a bit of wood with them. On my channel there is a video called "Old or New Cheap Chinese chainsaw? Cookie cuts." Completely stock. The blue one was new and I had it pretty rich. Since then it has been leaned out and runs fantastic. The orange one has been very good. You can hear the throttle response. This is smaller wood for sure. Running farmertec bars and chain.

I'll get this 372 clone singing, it will just have to wait until after Saw Fest. I'm trying to get everything ready for that.

Have heard several builders talk of intake gasket leaks. Caused by a gasket. That would be inline with the comment about a leaking intake boot. Sorry you’re having these problems. I bought the NS 892 about 10 months ago. Runs great, did muffler mod, nothing else.

The part that has always bothered me. Is say the cline is only $450 saw after you spend the additional $100 or $150 dollars. For another $200 dollars you could buy a new 562xp and it would out cut these clones.

I feel ya, I wanted the Farmertec g372xp hutlz to be good and had bad experiences also. I tried 2 of them, swapped all common failure parts with oem and still didn’t last, ain’t worth it. And dumping money into them doesn’t add any value than the new clone powerhead price. Glad they make affordable plastics, external engine parts to revive a old beat up Husqvarna or Stihl but that’s it. Never can rely on them out in the field.

@dubbssawshop
@dubbssawshop 2 года назад
I do believe the FarmMac needs some work done. Something is definitely off with that saw, air leaks, ignition timing possibly, or just crap port timing. It’s a very nice looking saw and I hope you get it squared away without changing the Top End, but that may be a possibility.

Just watched your " why I love the husky 55", well I picked one up yesterday for $20.00 w/2 quarts of red armor pre mix. Well after some cleaning etc. it runs. Things are messy because the kid did not about bar oil. 🙄 But anyway, it runs but it's acting like it's got an air leak. So if you can answer this question it would be helpful. Does a 1998 55 rancher supposed to have a de comp button. Hopefully you can let me know. Thanks.

Some did...and some didn't. What I can tell you, is...contrary to common sense- the saws with a compression release usually had slightly lower compression than those without a compression release.

I've had good luck with Chinese carbs.. But that was compared to 20+ year old walbro or tilotson, so might not be fair, but also on my 266se had the Chinese 272 kit on and even with no air leaks... It just sucked ass, original jug with new piston it leaps and bounds better

so on the grey coloured saw , the port timing and ignition timing are off , this is why it is running like a turd .

Pretty sure it’s fair to call that farmmac the ryobi jigsaw in this contest. In fact, I think you cud have got thru that log 🪵 faster with a ryobi jig saw, and sadly I’ve literally been looking at ordering one of these exact saws either farmmac or neotec 372 and thank god I haven’t ordered one yet. Not to mention. I’ve seen the saw try and cut thru logs in 3 videos on it now and lost prolly 30 min of my life and I’m pretty sure my milawaukee m18 hatchet would run circles around it. Now as far as neo tech goes tho, I’ve got one of those 543 clone saws man bone stock and it runs with most any of my other saws I have, I love it. But Jesus the 372 is a slug 🐌

I've had my hands on a lot of clone saws at this point. The Neotec 372 is now very well known to have problems. If you are looking for a 372 clone, I'd recommend a blue Holzfforma from TristarSupplyLLC.com. right now they are running a sale on the Xtorq version which is good, but I definitely prefer the non-xtorq saws. Here's a link for the one I like: www.tristarsupplyllc.com/holzfforma-blue-thunder-g372xp-no-bar-no-chain-71cc-chainsaw/

@@novicelumberjack I would prolly skip the 372 then and just get. The stihl clone of that series saw instead, those are decent too no? I just found and scooped me a brand new 4910, and a 30min used stihl ms250 which I freaking love btw so far man. I already had a old echo tophandle like 3400 I got not running from a buddy, got her screaming now, my first little saw was a 3510 16” and then I got a 590 20”. All stock so far but still plenty fun. Hey side note since your all up on the clone stuff. So recently I noticed neo tech came out with what looks like another clone of a stihl 94R weedeater powerhead, or kombi head technically, this is their older design machine which is my fav actually, you ever seen that piece? I think it’s new cause it’s never shown up on my feed but it looks identical to my fav trimmer by stihl. The damn thing is 26cc commercial and it’s normally like 400.00 from stihl and the neo tech one is on sale from 169, down to like a hundred bucks with Amazon coupon, I might scoop me one or two and try em out. If it’s what i think it is that’s gonna be solid for sure

Keep in mind 400$ vs 1000$ a few seconds on a log you might cut twice a year ... and 100$ in upgrading change all..
@novicelumberjack

I'm with you on every other clone saw that I have used. But this one...trash. I've already installed a legit Walbro 372xp carburetor and it is still an absolute dog. So that blows the $100 upgrade budget right there alone. I will be building it to compete for Sawfest next year, so I'll be able to track down exactly what is holding it back and how much money it costs to get it up to standard.

Yes. A 30 second intro on every video is needed. My aim is to suck people in, get them to click on the video and watch as many minutes of footage as I can. The intro helps me do that. Draws in new viewers who don't even know my channel exists. I have been getting twice as many views since I added the intro. But I get your frustration. Just skip it.
