i rock with your locs, have had mine for 3 yrs now. peoples opinions about my hair never mattered tbh. left one of my ex girlfriend's cause she wanted me to cut them. dont care to please people. i love it and that's all that matters.
I have a strong energy I will say so ppl in general don’t comment negatively in face like that but they will ask silly question like how frequently do I retwist my hair or thing like that, and I’m sayin when I need to! But that’s crazy thanks for pointing that out girly girl❤
I did my own starter locs and at the time, I didn't realize that what I was doing was considered "semi-freeform" starter locs because I just grabbed hair and started twisting. But I made sure that my locs were not too big or small. I made sure to have a middle part in the front at least, just in case I might want to wear a middle part. (even though I'm a side-parter!) You're right. I think us black people just have a very exotic look and we can rock natural hairstyles like no other. ❤
Freeform is the way to go. And, if necessary, you can make them look "corporate" by pulling your locs back, and using a large (gently on the hair) hair clip. I don't have the for nonsense. No parts. No re-twistng is for people that actually don't like the way their locs look. IMHO No time for drama.
Thanks for the loc love, people judge the most ridiculous things, sending you love! Locs do seem to promote a healthy growth of self confidence and "I don't give a f*'s" 🤣🥰
i installed my 2 strand twists starter locs April 26th. i am in my 2nd month. i am loving it so far. i have curly ends. my size of twists varies but in the front my parting is precise. the back not so much. i transitioned to locs cause i was sick of dealing with loose hair. running my nail salon, being full time mom, etc i didn't have time to do my hair so i installed two strands twists then interlocked my roots.
I’m 2 months into my loc journey as of this Thursday (yesterday technically). I love it here. No regrets. My sizing is inconsistent but my parts are about where I want them to be. I kinda like the idea of having some small locs and some medium locs cause it’s like I get best of both worlds. Lol In reference to your hair… I feel you. While I didn’t care much about the back of my hair, I was pretty particular about the parts in the front because I wanted the option of doing middle and side parts. For you, I say, don’t forsake a pinned bang or bun style. It won’t be the same as it being free, but the longer your hair gets, the easier and more versatile you can be with pinned styles.
Im sooo glad I found your channel. I'm 3 months in my journey. Everyone keeps telling me not to loc my hair, It'll never lock, I'll look rough. I'm like brah😤.
I'm right months in and I'm locked I love my locs and I let my locs do their own thing. I watch how they lock cause my back locked first cause I swear a lot but my top is lock but my ends are curly and they still look like two strand twist. I only pull it up when I'm going outside but when I'm home I just leave it hanging and it's growing like crazy I have really thick hair and my locs are sort of big and I love them glad I just went and did it
