Just two tips. In my experience, seeing a therapist is more important than medication, so don’t give up on a therapist! Secondly, if zoloft doesn’t work, another antidepressant may work!

Sonia, i’m literally going through this right now. I’ve felt like a zombie for so long and i’m the most disorganized “lazy” person. my anxiety and depression has gotten out of control. i completely resonated with this whole video. ive been putting off getting a therapist/ seeing if i have adhd. this is inspiring me even more. you got this babe 🥺

I’d love to see updates I think it’d be helpful for a lot of people. I think I heard women get diagnosed with adhd less as well ( even if they have it) but I’m not sure. Great video.

In regard to anxiety, I had to figure out alot of things on my own (medication was never going to be a solution for me for various reasons). For me it involved pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone, almost like a process of desensitisation. I would go to the most crowded food hall (not really a viable option in this pandemic climate, I realise) it was like a kind of exposure therapy. Routine was also very important, if I went the same route.. sat in the same place, caught the same bus from the same stop etc etc I found this decreased my anxiety levels. I had a problem with building up enough momentum to actually leave the house - all of this assisted with that. There was alot more, but I will leave it at that for now. I definitely can relate to procrastinating/avoiding things for no big reason ! I'm currently procrastinating on depositing two checks I got for my birthday from my grandma & aunt 😅 It's been three weeks ... I know I can easily do an eDeposit, but my brain has been irrationally avoidant for no substantial reason ? I've also been working on getting a therapist again recently after two years without one ! I had stopped scheduling with my last therapist despite needing the service (another example of avoidance without actual reason). Looking forward to bettering myself and finally confronting my anxiety, depression, and feelings of overwhelm !!!

Please be careful with the Adderall.. especially when you start upping your dose. I never thought I would get hooked on Adderrall as much as I did. I was taking extended release 20mg and then started the immediate release. The immediate release is what started my problem. I know everyone's experience is different but please be mindful that your tolerance will go up with the medication and you will need more to feel the same effects. You will also feel like you can't be productive without it and thats where the dependence comes in.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, I just recently got a psychiatrist in my life again!! And have had 2 sessions so far, the day after my first session she had emailed me places to call about testing!! I am so excited that you shared this, and how recently it's all been for you. Also you can use medication as a jump start! it may help you and you may not need it forever. also you altering your thoughts with a pill is similar to altering your thoughts with a change in environment (physical or social).

Hey girl ! The first day of adderall was amazing for me too. be careful as it goes on, it is an appetite suppressant and if you forget to eat it will mess with your mood, life and relationships. in the beginning i had to set a timer for every few hours to remember to eat. i generally take 2-3 days off adderall a week to reset my body and make sure it doesn't get too much for me. happy you found something that works for you! EDIT: also, as you go you may have to up your dosage. overall its been great for me but you slowly gain immunity to it (i started on 10mg, now on 15mg and have been on it for about a year). i also lost about 15-20 pounds on it in that year, just because it does suppress appetite. not a bad thing just to be aware. overall has been great for me. would love to see an update on how you get on!

Hey hey!! ❤️❤️ thank you so much for the tips, I have definitely noticed the appetite suppressing and have taken your advice with the timers. I also have been trying to just make a smoothie to sip throughout the day on top of meals. And I’ll keep in mind having to up the dosage. Bro being a vegan for 6-7 years it really is so hard for me to be honest and get professional help. I still haven’t yet but I’ve been struggling with a lot of mental health problems. After MD research I have realized I have all 9 depression symptoms and if you have 4/9 you have major depression disorder. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve slipped back in my ED a couple times. I’m in Southern Oklahoma and just worried I won’t find someone who will understand or be a good fit for me therapy wise. A healthy diet can only do so much when it’s in my genetics and had a rough traumatic upbringing as a child. I miss being passionate about anything.

I’m so sorry that you are going through all of this, it can be so so hard. You are so right that a healthy diet can only do so much. Luckily, especially with Covid a lot of therapists are available fully virtually so if you are not able to connect with anyone near you, you are connected to hundreds of other therapists virtually around the country. you should try thc or cbd cannabis for anxiety. you dont smoke so you should try edibles. always start with a really small dose though. dont forget.
