Pixel Dan, thank you so much for this video. It brought me so much joy hearing you and your mom talk about all her Christmas toy shopping memories during the 80s. It sparked conversation with my own mom and her experiences looking for and getting the toys I wanted for Christmas. Great and simple times!!! Thanks again!!! Keep doing what you're doing.
Serves you right for wanting Hordak! 🤣 Although I'm a 1980 baby, I grew up with He-Man and MOTU, and for some reason I naturally associated Ultimate Warrior with MOTU. I seriously thought Ultimate Warrior was from Eternia, maybe it was the "from parts unknown" thing. Anyway, I was obsessed with MOTU and Warrior. OBSESSED! The 80's was great for really getting the action figure craze started. My dad surprised me with Castle Grayskull, and I came unglued from the fabric of reality. I was even allowed to skip school for a day just to play, dad was pretty proud of himself. 🤣 Many years later, I'm still a massive MOTU fan. Anyway, it wasn't until years later that I found out my dad had done some sketchy dealings to get me Castle Grayskull, which involved meeting a seller at night and wrapping the thing in a blanket to make sure nobody else around saw it. It turns out, the seller had aquired it from someone else, by taking it from their garage where it was stored (you know, for the holidays). 😬 But dad was as dedicated at Arnold looking for Turbo Man, and all that mattered was that I got Castle Grayskull. Dad ditched the box in a dumpster before bringing it home.
I loved Star Trek TNG and my granny and aunt both loved the series too so I watched it with them a lot. However, I never got the figures. I was a bit older and wasn't playing with toys anymore. It might be a line I start collecting now though. I love the stories you presented here. The Stinkor story is probably the best one. He's always been one of my favorite bad guys and to hear your mom tell the story is great. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! May your kids have great memories of their awesome parents and the joy they helped bring them on Christmas morning.
Thank you for sharing your Christmas toy memories. I enjoyed watching and reminiscing my own Christmas memories as well. Hope to make precious toy memories for my daughter as well.
Merry Christmas Dan, spending the day on my own so Thank You for making my Christmas Morning a Pixel Sensation ❤❤❤ from Down Under (Perth Australia) btw under my tree this year was Castle Grayskull (origins) New Eternia He-man/Skeletor , Masterverse Zodac & Catra, Origins 200x He-man/Skeletor, Pigman & Mantenna … Santa did me a solid 😊 Dan not many people can say in their life time, they have bought thousands apon thousands of people, that they have never even met such joy and happiness every day of their lives, so with all my heart Thank You so much Dan, Stina and Spencer XOXO
Thanks, Pixel Dan. I remember all of these from the first time you aired them (yes, I've been with you that long...🤣🤣🤣) they were still just as enjoyable to watch now as back then. Thank you for the compilation. Hope to see more. Love to you and your awesome family...🥰
Merry Christmas! I was 10 years old in 1983, when Santa brought me Castle Grayskull and some figures. I spent HOURS playing with that set, day after day. Thanks for triggering such awesome memories. BTW, your mother is a fantastic storyteller. Cheers to the Original Toy Hunter.
Merry Christmas Pixel Dan! Thanks for all of the awesome content and stories throughout the year, I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday. Oh, and I hope you get lots of toys under your tree tomorrow morning!!
Thank you for sharing these great Christmas toy experiencies, it definively brings me some great memories too. Thank you so much for taking the time to post these videos, you are a great person Dan...👍👍😁
Hi Pixel Dan! I want to thank you for this Christmas special, I know it is a compilation of previous videos but I still love it, it brings back many memories because I also had many of the figures you mention, I thank you again and I want to wish you and your Pixel family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 😊👍
Bro this is definitely one of the best videos I've ever watched took me down memory lane big time made me remember some of my best Christmas moments as well thanks you!!✊️.....YOUR MOM IS FREAKIN AWSOME!!!👏👏👏👏❤️
With me and my mum it was Thundercats in the 80s and the Tyco/ToyBiz X-Men figures in the 90s. We live in Northern Ireland, andI remember we couldn't find Wilykit and Wilykat locally at all, and I was so happy when we were on holiday in Scarborough on England and I was able to get those figures in a toy shop there. There was also one Christmas when I was six that I got the Thundertank, Panthro and Lynx-O and that was a big deal.
I find funny how there's a 28 years age gap between Dan and me but our memories about holidays times are somewhat similar since I also have some silly Christmas stories with TMNT, Star Trek, MOTU and Ghostbusters toys. When I got the Origins Stinkor (2021 Christmas, I'm not a kid anymore but I still collect toys) I was so dissapointed it didn't stink.
Good stuff. Several of these were before I subbed or Patreoned. I don’t have as many specific Christmas toy memories. I remember a lot of what I had, but not whether I got it for my birthday, Christmas, or a random gift (let alone what year). I do remember the Christmas I got NES, though!
Great video - you're definitely one of the best vintage toy RU-vidrs. I can only imagine how horrendous Stinkor must have smelt. Definitely a case of 'it seemed a good idea at the time...' 😆😆😆
Hi Dan, thank you for this compilation as I somehow missed watching the original uploads. Your stories definitely brought back childhood Christmas memories of my own. Merry Christmas to you, Stina, Spencer and Ryder!
My father scored a Snake Mountain from Sears on Christmas eve 83...he got a phone call from a sales associate at my uncles house bc he said he would be there in case they got it in. Sure enough he disappeared for a half hour. What score and great memory.
I am probably about close to ten years older so my late 70's Christmas 77 78 and 79 was Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica unfortunely I don't have any of those anymore I have moved so many times since 1977.
Shouldn't Donnie of been the space cadet and Ralph in the disguise given that Donnie is the science guy and Ralph was known for wearing disguise/trenchcoat
I wish McDonalds would do the toy holiday happy meal again with Mattel, featuring their current brands like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, He-Man, Jurassic World, WWE, Minecraft, Mega Construx, Barbie, Monster High, etc.👍 This month they had Hasbro board games and they were so cheap and boring.👎
