We aren't alone. There is an existential threat to Japan, Korea, Philippines, India, Vietnam and others. Asymmetrical warfare isn't just fighting tribesmen in mud huts. We need to think of this as a part of our own arsenal.

If China follows Imperialist Japan's WWII plans, it could possibly have Japan and southeast Asia in months, including Indonesia. From there its not too far to the shores of Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, etc. I doubt that the American Communist Party has the will to help our allies.
