@@keshavashok2374 he was never pro slavery, he just took a long time to abolish it because he thought it would piss off the South. But when the Civil War became too bad, he realised there was no reason for having slavery as the South was angry anyways.
@@keshavashok2374 yeah he always wanted to abolish slavery. It's just that he thought that it would upset the South. But after the South broke apart anyways, he decided there was no need for appeasement and took a step further in humanitarianism.
12BJJohnson Just like how FDR and his liberal policies killed America? Oh wait the Republicans nearly did that and FDR (a liberal) had to fix their mistakes.
I am from India but I heard and read in school about Abrahim Lincoln as a great personality of the world He contributed a lot to America and its Constitution . He was a main person behind 13th Amendment of US Constitution. If he didn't raise voice against slavery so the America never get that success which it today has . Thanks to this famous personality and a wise , dedicated and honest president of United States.
I love how the top 3 greatest presidents: FDR, Washington, and Lincoln, we're an Independent, a Republican, and a Democrat. All served in 3 different centuries, and involved in 3 different wars that LITERALLY shaped American into what it is today
@NBA Instagram you're honestly gonna tell me the man who fought so hard so that we could become and independant nation isnt a good president. That means Washington, jefferson, madison, monroe, and polk are all not good presidents. Just because they had slaves which was okay at the time doesn't make them a bad president
Perceptible Flow I just don’t get how Ronald Reagan didn’t get top 10 because he was supported heavily by the nation because he began the end of the Cold War and won the electoral college 525 to 13
Lincoln is the greatest, he was given the roughest time to be a president with the most to do and still exceeded what anyone thought would be realistic. Legend
@Leeber Gruber I’m not sure if it was a sarcastic joke but dismissing George Washington’s presidency based on the fact he owned slaves and killed British troops(which makes no sense we were at war for our independence?) is dumb in my opinion. His leadership is literally, not an exaggeration, is the reason the United States exists.
I really hate it when people say that "all Democrats/Republicans are horrible." You can't judge a person based on their political party. We have had some amazing presidents from BOTH parties and some not so much.
Lincoln isn’t the best at all he was the closest president we had to a dictator, forced escaped slaves during the war to work, refused to free slaves from occupied territory, and refused to let pro south newspapers be shown going against the 1st amendment, and caused millions more deaths then needed
“I would rather belong to a poor nation that was free than to a rich nation that had ceased to be in love with liberty.” - Woodrow Wilson “Mankind must put an end to war - or war will put an end to mankind. ” - John F. Kennedy "covfefe" - Donald Trump
@@elliottshah9077 he was one of the best democrats not like today's socialist. He ended the Cuban crisis by showing strength and he wasn't like today's democrats against the second amendment.

Yeah wilson is one of the key reason millions of people were murdered in WWI, If he didn't care more about his legacy over his country a lot less people would've died in battle.
Lincoln really was the best president in US History, and he later on paid the price for what he had done. Sure he may have not end slavery right away, but only in the process while saving the union. Still you got to give him credit, for what he had done for our future.
you could tell this guy is my jam. however, how the republicans change as they began to become filthy rich by the end of the Reconstruction, damaged their reputation. thats when, a Democractic, Lyndon B. Johnson, has to step in, by signing the Civil and Voting rights acts, a long legal segration by toughest times in the 20th Century.
Agreed because he had to solve the problem in reuniting the country where Buchanan failed to do so. Buchanan is ten times worse than Franklin Pierce, not even Johnson, Wilson or Trump.
Luke Ferraro thank you reagan easly grabs 2nd because he restored prosperity in our economy and eneded the cold war he also was the reason the Berlin wall was demolished
Luke Ferraro "Goods" like what? Being a bumbling, unprepared talking head selling guns and shipping coke, militarizing the police, and continuing the harmful War on Drugs.
Replace Polk (extremely overrated president, there was no reason to go to war against Mexico) with Truman, and move Wilson down a bit. This is what my list would be: 1. Lincoln 2. FDR 3. Washington 4. Teddy Roosevelt 5. Eisenhower 6. Jefferson 7. Truman 8/9. LBJ/JFK 10. Wilson (controversial one) Polk would be 17th-20th best president for me, he's a bit overrated.
@@noshotbucko4719 I actually hate Woodrow Wilson’s presidency, his presidency alone would be one of the worst but it’s his impact on the future that makes me rate him so highly. He was one of the most important presidents in history which is why I ranked him high.
@@noshotbucko4719 I wasn’t talking to you but you watch opinion based videos as fact huh? Woodrow Wilson started the engine for the modern Democratic Party and his progressive policies directly led to the new deal

What Kennedy accomplished was actually a lot of stalled initiatives, especially in civil rights. After he was killed, there was suddenly foot-dragger's remorse, and Congress hopped to passing those initiatives after some arm-twisting from LBJ. LBJ rightfully takes a lot of credit for that. However, had Kennedy not made those initiatives, I doubt LBJ would have done anything himself.
Son Gohan yeah, though I’ve heard both good and bad about him, our dollar has lost 96% of its value sense the federal reserve was created due to inflation.
In my opinion FDR is number one because I would be homeless right now. Thanks to his reforms we have social programs like unemployment, medical, food stamps (EBT), which has saved me and my family from living hungry, sick and homeless to having free health care, unemployment money to survive and EBT to eat. Thank you FDR
Chimp Guns he got us into the war, yet kept us out of the League of Nations, he somehow worsened race relations, endorsing the film “klans man” aka “birth of a nation” and restricting blacks from combat, those are just some of the divisive things he did to the country.
@Bob Donald I think there is no clear definition of choice. to whom you like I may not and to whom I like you may not. It's matter of debate who is better and who is not..
+Jakob Smith Because Ronald Reagan is responsible for much of the deregulation, income inequality, and buildup of the criminal/military industrial complex plaguing the United States today.
+The Daily Conversation Carter did kind of go crazy with his regulations though and a balance of total regulation and no regulation is what this country is about. the income inequality wasn't Reagan it was and is capitalism fdr once took a rubber band pulled it out let it snap back and said "that it true capitalism no one knows when it will correct itself" and the military complex, as much as I am a super fan of Kennedy, started with Kennedy/Eisenhower. This country was supposed to be an isolationist country, it was after ww2 and Winston Churchill's great curtain speech that that was no longer an option we fought the cold war usually for worse and became a superpower against our will. Reagan ended the cold war ( i know i know it was done through the negotiations of several presidents) but he is the one able to sit with Gorbachev to finally put an end to it. Not to mention he was the great communicator probably half of our countries great speeches were by him and fdr. No matter what you thought of him he rebooted the republican party (not a fan of the GOP but respect the opposition) he was also as patriotic as you can get which isn't always a bad thing. not to say he was perfect but a great president he was. just my opinion :).
+Jakob Smith i asked the same question.......when Jimmy carter left the white house Iran was messing up the USA whit the 78 prisioners......Reagan got the out imetiatly.....also the berlin wall.......and the historical perestroika whit the russians.

My personal favorite is Truman. He had an inspirational life story and wasn’t morally corrupt. He did what was best for the majority of Americans, brought an end to the war. Desegregated the troops, implemented the marshal plan and spearheaded civil rights and aid to education.
and also made the decision to bomb japan twice, even though the war was practically over. japan was already being closed in on from multiple sides, but it was truman that decided to bomb civilians, not soldiers, who already knew they had lost the war, and were waiting for the official end of the war, which came only a few weeks later. he also led to relations between the US and USSR deteriorating, leading to even more wars. Truman was NOT a good president in hindsight.
I don’t see a lot of comments supporting TR. dude was a political visionary. Without him and Robert M LaFollette the 20th Century would be an entirely different place in terms of social environment.
My top 10: 1. Abraham Lincoln 2. John F. Kennedy 3.Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt 4. Ronald Reagan 5.Franklin Delano Roosevelt 6. Jimmy Carter 7. Dwight D. Eisenhower 8. Lyndon B. Johnson 9. Thomas Jefferson 10. Ulysses S. Grant Bonus: close 2nd to Grant, George Washington

NewWorldAhead Please, for the record, quote from generally unbiased sources. All of those are liberal as can be. You would shrug off any conservative site's information and call it a lie I suppose I'll do the same. Those are all biased liberal "news sources." But if you want, I can pull from some biased sources about our dictato-- I mean President FDR. You know, the one who extended the US Depression, confiscated privately owned property (gold particularly), refused to stand up to the communists like Truman did (ie GIVING BERLIN AND EAST GERMANY TO THE USSR) and all around screwed over America. And don't get me started on Wilson.... If you want to quote a source against Reagan, I'll take it seriously and read it objectively, but I'm not even going to look at anything from Salon, Huffington Post, Karl Marx dot Com, CNN, MSNBC, etc, just like I wouldn't expect you to look at anything I posted from Town Hall or Fox. Biased is biased, so if you can find me a middle of the road article talking bad about Reagan, I'l give it the time of day.
CaptainStolsie I was alive during the "reign" of Ronald Reagan... and he single handedly was the reason I switched my party affiliation from Republican to Democrat.
Somewhat SpookyDinosaur You're a teabagging idiot.. and there's no talking to you either, Tinkerbell... enough with your lies... I'm the disinfectant here... I lived through the Reagan years and suffered terribly.
NewWorldAhead I love the maturity... "Teabagger".... I hear my year 10 old nephew talking about "teabagging" people on video games all the time. Then again, all progressives are are a bunch of immature idiots with no economic or political understanding, just like the common 12 year old so it makes sense. Also, did you ever get around to looking at that '84 election map? You might have "suffered terribly", but apparently the rest of the nation didn't ,looking at how people voted. The democrat candidate in '84 won a whopping *one state*. Also, I would like to say, go read Marx. You'll find that like it or not you and him have similar political views. Equality over liberty, welfare state ("To each according to his needs, from each according to his ability"), making the rich powerful seen as enemies, always talking about the "common man".... you're a Marxist, like all liberals, like it or not. Want me to cite examples from the Manifesto I will. Liberalism is equal to a lesser variant of Communism. And I'm not talking about USSR or North Korea bastardized Communism I'm talking the actual theory by Karl Marx. Also, I believe I have already explained to you that I am not a "teabagger", as I do not affiliate with the Tea Party. I am a Libertarian. We believe in Liberty over Equality. Progressives believe in equality over liberty. You are, at heart a Communist.
My Top 3 favourite US presidents and their reasons 1. George Washington: He led his people to victory in the Revolutionary War and most important Founding Father. 2. Abraham Lincoln: He preserved the Union and abolished Slavery in the Civil War. 3. Thomas Jefferson: He was another Founding Father and he purchased Louisiana from the French expanding the land of America.
@@aidanphillips6760where’s your reliable source. That was Buchanan who started the Civil War because of his weakness and pro southern sympathies. Buchanan was a traitor because of this. He would have been rightfully impeached
Hoover signed the Agricultural Marketing Act into law to redeem his campaign promise to the farmers. It was not as good as FDR'S AAA, but better than the Coolidge veto of the McNary-Haugen Act.
considering that Kennedy was only in office for 2 years, and makes the top ten is actually kind of amazing. Though in truth, I think he should be top 8 but top 10 is fair.
JFK is quite surprising to me. He only served for two years but actually got things done. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"
JFK is heavily overrated and does not deserve top 10 He could give a speech and died That is why people like him Name 5 accomplishments of his presidency. I will wait. I could give you 106 accomplishments of his VP
“I am certain that after the divorce of the centuries has passed over our cities, we too will be remembered not for victories or defeats in battle or politics, but for our contribution to the human Spirit.” - John F. Kennedy
@Richard Mitchell your mind is closed you need to look at history. He got the vote of Americans. 49 states electoral votes a landslide no other presidential candidate received
Reagan was a great guy, but he was disconnected from what was going on and only looked at the present, not the future. He lowered taxes more than any other president in his first term and got reelected because of the prosperous middle class since the taxes were so low and in his second term he raised the taxes more than any other president because the low taxes exceedingly raised our deficit. He didn't have much of a long term beneficial effect except for reviving the republican party which is now losing ground once again.
Better ranking: 1 and 2. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln 3 and 4. Thomas Jefferson, James Polk 5. Theodor Roosevelt 6. Harry Truman 7. Ronald Reagan 8. Ulysses Grant 9. Andrew Jackson 10. Franklin Roosevelt(?)
Roosevelt had no idea about European politics. He was thinking "Hitler was bad, Stalin is fighting him, Stalin is good". So he left middle-east Europe to him. He left us at the mercy of communism. We had to wait 44 years to free ourselves.
Paweł Mulak no Roosevelt new Stalin wasn't a good man but needed another front to fight with also Russia was best equipped to help fight the nazis this leading to the Genova convention where they were worried about stalins ideals and compromised much of what Stalin wanted which later he took after Roosevelts passing
Well it’s fake mostly because they included Woodrow Wilson on it. Woodrow Wilson is a racist trash bag who openly advocated for silencing opposition through the espionage and sedition act even before WW1. Additionally he brought America into the war for no reason. America should’ve never fought in ww1 (change my mind).
John Smith wilson dragged us into ww1 after promising to america he wouldn’t, wilson helped the communists take power in Russia and then made them hate the us paving the way for the cold war that lasted over 40 years, created the federal reserve, he was literally a white supremacist even back in his time when racism was thriving he pushed the limits, he took away jobs that black people earned and replaced them with white people, created the 2nd kkk, he segregated blacks in federal work places, even though the 13th admendment bans military drafts he did it anyways without the consent of american citizens, he made it illegal to protest against the draft which is another thing he ignores from the constitution, made it illegal to critize the war yet another constitutional violation, used the post office to suppress free speech kinda like what’s happening in america over a hundred years later, arrested women that protested for the right to vote and he tried to veto the 19th admendment that doesn’t sound like a top 10 president of all time to me idk what you think but i will never support that man or the things he did
Wilson stopped child labor, set up the 8 hour work week, founded the federal reserve, entered WW1 only when it became necessary, attempted to negotiate a fairer Versailles treaty, founded the League of Nations, and attempted to stop prohibition

David Solis the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act, Kennedy was the one who got them passed through Congress, and would've been the one to sign them had he made back to DC. Kennedy also founded the Peace Corps a worldwide Peace Keeping organization.
Scotty Cameron thank you for responding. I believe LBJ shepherded those two pieces of legislation. Hubert Humphrey was the initiator of the Peace Corp. But thanks.
I thought President Eisenhower was a very good man especially when it comes to the fact that he was a hero of World War II; and with him as a president and a veteran, he deserves to be treated respectfully and very decently. I really love his WWII speech when he said “We will accept nothing less than full victory!” As a CBS 6 Community Hero, I consider that inspirational quote as a symbol of liberation because I truly believe that someday we will be liberated from the Coronavirus as long as we keep our spirits up and NEVER lose hope.
