It's tricky; he never _wanted_ to believe any specific cops were corrupt and he'd defend the police in general when arguing with outsiders. That said, he's also too jaded and too cynical to genuinely believe that cops are any less susceptible to the temptations of their offices.

The lead singer/front person of a rock band gets killed, and the show isn't cancelled? The fans are going to want to see the band members try to go on without any kind of tribute guest star lead singers? Really sounds like the scriptwriters wanted a scene with the band sound checking and didn't care about the logic. L&O has done this a couple of times I think.

Also, that band is supposed to be a major act, supposed to have sold out, and yet they're sound checking at a tiny little open-air venue in a public park. The audience capacity in front of the stage might be 200-300 people.
