Once you start to play Fallout 4, you won't be able to stop. Recently new player, couple of months. I've logged over 700hours since. I pretty much play every other day. When I'm not playing, my gf is playing Fallout 4 (playing for at least 6 months). We both really love Fallout 4. Great game and I love the lore.

Considering that NoRespawns subscriptions have been evening out since October last year and Skooled Zone's has more than doubled in the same period of time, it actually makes sense that he'd not only catch him up but over take him. I would have been much more surprised if Skooled hadn't surpassed NR, or at least been extremely near to it by this point, just by looking at the numbers.

Paul has a 50,000 sub thank you post on his instagram page from back in March of last year which means it took him a year to get his last 30K subs. So.. math. but I respect them both and would love to see a collab.

You're quite right, I misread the social blade (it was about 4am and I hadn't slept at the time), my comment is correct with the exception of the year. It's been since 2016, not 2017. NR's channel has been levelling out since October 2016, and Skooled has doubled in that same amount of time. I'm not being disrespectful to either, I'm just stating simple facts. And for anyone curious, I only checked their Social Blades because it's much more accurate than looking at YT because YT has recorded less or more subs and then corrected it later so I always use Social Blade to check things like that.

Even when you fully understand them it's still hard to come up with interesting features. I've only a found a handful of uses so far. But hopefully more will come to mind!

It's logical based on the other electronics in FO4. All switches and such have one single connector for both input and output. What doesn't seem logical about these "gates" is that they're not powered themselves! In the example this XNOR behaves exactly like an AND gate, when in reality there should be power out when both inputs are off. Perhaps the gate can be powered the same way as the regular lights and such?

That would break fallout, because then these gates are a easy power source on a wall.

you can use a NOT logic gate to transmit power even if it's "unpowered" all it needs is to have the yellow LED on top of the logic gate to be lit. Basically, you transmit power to the NOT so it can give the correct information to the XNOR and still gives it the possibility to transmit power even though both input are untransmintting Logic gate in game do not function like RL logic gate at all .

Olle P, you're totally right about the AND gate and that the gates should power themselves, or at least have their on/off transistors reversed. I mentioned both those things in the video. I just tested it to be sure and you can go ahead and substitute the AND gate for the XNOR gate in the case of powered doors if you want.

Bassman A2Z, glad you're enjoying videos. Yeah, the visual difference between RL logic gates and FO4 logic gates can make it confusing. But in both cases, the two inputs get condensed down to one input anyway as they go into the logic circuit. So the developers probably just figured they could save some polygons and frame rate by taking out the extra physical node and making the wires represent the two inputs. That would be my guess. :)

Hey you just gave me a really cool idea for using logic gates to light up a display area with the colors changing in sequence. If I can make it work, I'll showcase it in a build and credit you for the inspiration. ✋

Still waiting for your ongoing series in logic gates. I have actually been playing Skyrim the passed few weeks. I am kinda hoping for some inspiration to jump back in. Planning on doing a BoS play-through with the Horizon mod and see how I like it.

Right on. I thought about experimenting a lock system too if only settlers or enemies could use switches. Since they can't, it seemed pointless. But I bet it would still look cool.

Skooled Zone i seen a other comment that somebody made a wall around a settelment and had a warehouse gait and connected that to the siren so when they got attacked it would close maby you could try to recreate that 😀😀

That would be a rusty chain-linked fence.

It can't be a chain linked fence because he's at Abernathy, there's no chain linked fences there and they're not buildable without mods. Which is why I asked what the wall was made of because it has to be something that has chain linked incorporated into it, but be a vanilla piece. I'm pretty sure someone that would do everything vanilla wouldn't load a mod for a wall. Lol

Sorry. It took me a little bit to remember. It is chain linked fence. But, it's attatched to the nuka cola bottle game from the Nuka World dlc (I don't remember the name of the game). It's the one were you shoot the targets and try to get the nuka cola bottle to the top of the backdrop. It's just turned backwards. If he were on pc I would have remembered right away, as the nuka bottles were placed wrong and are on the backside of the game.

The best way to think of logic gates is like a bouncer at the entrance of a club. They only let people through the velvet rope if their instructions are met. If not, they don't get in. 😉

Five months later...

Umm. . . yeah. There is no simple way to do it. It can be done without logic gates. I had to watch a video and copy their wiring scheme exactly to get my first one to work. Basically, what I ended up with was a powered door, with a switch on both sides. To get it to look nice, you need to pillar glitch everything (to hide wires). Also, concrete walls help with hiding things without glitching much. Isolating the power from the power grid, isn't even the hard part. Just tun your power, from the grid (your existing lines), to a pylon. Then treat that pylon as your generator. If I remember correctly, you can just use the timed switch (the one that sends power, and then turns off). Wire both of those to the pylon that has power, and then wire each of your switches to the door. Don't wire the switches to each other though. I believe that used to work. In theory, it still should, as each switch has power to it, and when you turn it on, it transfers that power to the door. And then it turns off (and the door closes).

You did it right. The troughs will attract random Brahmin. You only need summoning cages if you want like a bunch of them for a cow pasture or something.

Skooled Zone i just completed the cappy in a haystack quest and then my phone beeps to tell me you replied 😂 I actually didnt have the trough and a brahmin came over randomly. So i thought that maybe it would stay if built a trough. And it did. My red rocket is now a mini diamond city ( even called rocket city 😂) and in the part where there is 4 metal pieces to keep up the roof , around that i have picket fences and the brahmin is there 😂.
