Steve Vai has become synonymous with tone, technique, and all aspects of the electric guitar with tenacious, creative energy that explodes through his music, performances, and especially his signature gear designs. When it came time for Steve to evaluate a new amplifier to endorse, he played them all and after months of consideration - he chose Synergy. The Steve Vai tube preamp is the first Synergy signature module. The blue channel (bottom) delivers everything from sparkling cleans to slightly broken up American tones. The FAT and BRIGHT switches let you fine tune your sound. The top red channel offers everything from the drop-tuned rage of "Bad Horsie" to the opulent harmonic sustain of "For the Love of God." And with mini toggle switches for BOOST and BRIGHT you’re sure to find your own signature tones.

Nice Randy Rhoads Les Paul in the back, i got the one in this avatar 1982 Les Paul Custom for $350 dollars used in 1986.

So if I get the 1 plug in plus any module I want I can plug that directly in my shitty tube amp and get the tones that these modules have instead?

I kind of like the idea of this Synergy modular stuff, but it’s a massively expensive way to go. 30w head that can hold 1 module is £1,159 1 module is £375 1x12 cab is £529 That’s a total of £2,063 😨 And that’s before you start buying extra modules, which is the whole point of the thing. Hmmm...

Randall did it years ago. It turned out ok and you could just ship off a module to get modified. They were pretty cool.

brian bowes yeah, I remember the Randall ones - called MTS or something similar. Somewhere out there someone has a prototype Nuno NBKing module. It exists, but never made it to production...

Many of the amps represented in the modules cost thousands of dollars...for one amp. Price out a SLO, BE-100 Deluxe or Diezel VH-4 and get back to us.

You could save a few quid buying the Syn 1 then an external power amp or plugging it into the return of an amp you already have

Soooo.... if I get you correctly, if I was to purchase the Synergy VAI, I would still need a power amp section of some sort.... why would I want to do that? just to try to emulate Steve? This is not going to do it for me. You did sound like Steve VAI himself in your intro, that's pretty neat!

Absolutely - 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes/valves!

Michael, in this case, I think he did pretty well. I was not even aware of what Synergy was, so I needed some background information. And he insists on some of the technical details, which is kind of what I really like. I did not find too many undue repetitions. He actually showcased on some of the core features, which was fine by me.
