This video is an investigation into typical Filipino food. A little Carinderia frequented by local people wanting ordinary everyday filipino fare. Pigs blood stew, pork adobo, jack fruit and coconut milk salad with more adobo (squid, this time) and a delicious tamarind soup!
So please, sit back and enjoy something ordinary and possibly even new.

But rice itself is bland, and is mostly used as a filler. Unless the rice is flavored as well. But I find that regular white rice is bland and it just makes you feel full faster in my opinion lol

You deserve much credit. Most foreigners doing vlogs about Filipino cuisine always end up eating in a mall or restaurant. You just spiced things up by eating in one of these places.

there are hundreds of different versions of cooking a certain Filipino dish, so don´t be surprised if you try a weird taste of adobo or a pig´s stew in a stall, and the stall next to it with the same dish taste better.

I think Filipinos are forgetting that they need real food like what you had and not all those fastfood places, over the top restaurants. It a step back what we have of eating unhealthy food. Good food also is cheap in karenderias.

We do have lots of fast food chains in my area since it's a tourist destination but trust me, we cook our meals 3 times a day...this is totally wrong... We sometimes eat in carenderias when i go out to process paperworks...carenderias are targetted for working people ...

I'm an Australian both of my parents are Filipino, Manila and Baguio. I've recently rediscovered the foods my parents cooked for me. I'm glad you like Filipino food. It's frustrating that there aren't many Filipino restaurants in Australia. But it's good that I can now cook thr dishes I loved growing up

Nice Honest review! :) With regards to the dishes' tastes, some carinderias are good some are not so good. It's a hit or miss kind of thing. The good thing is you can just walk down a couple of blocks more to find another one.

It was kind of you to comment on the Dinuguan, yes the pork stew with blood, when you already stepped out. That strange taste could be the word "malansa" ... it was not cooked long enough to remove that awful aftet taste and smell...so next time look for the darker colored pork stew, almost black in color. It's one of my favorite local food. It just need a longer time to cook. Thanks for another feel good video you posted :-)

my wife cooks chicken pork adobo at the same time. she add boiled egg and with her especialty in cooking you cant resist asking for more than just one rice. she has the best Chicken pork adobo in philippines.
