One of my top 5 channels across all platforms. Absolutely refreshing to hear positive stuff coming out of Jamaica as opposed to the negative vlogs. Keep it up, I've just purchased land in St Ann. Any chance of you doing a video on the real estate potential up there? Mr Wellington you and your family deserve to be recognised for not ony uplifting the narrative on Jamaica but also doing a lot to alleviate the fears of Jamaicans I the diaspora and showing real potential and opportunities. I'm 1st generation UK born but will be making my move in the hopefully near future 💯
The Jamaican government, doesn't matter which party, is just horrible and deceptive! They promise that these big hotel chains would not be undermining the othe mom and pop hotels with their pricing and then turn around and let the big hotel chains do exactly that! Then to add insult to injury these big chain hotels market their resorts as being more safe, because of the all inclusive model, that in return further hurt the local hotels. So under handed! Definately some palms where greased.
Beautiful property with lots of potential. Hope the right person will come along to restore it. Well done Throp for keeping us informed, as always!!.👏🏽👏🏽🇬🇧
Eco tourism would be great for that property or town homes with a community coop. Not everyone wants to live on the beach which doesn't provide any land for fruit tree.
This property would make great residences...Negril short of places to rent/live at the moment. Also..it would make a great training facility for customer service and hospitality.
A full-service hospital/rehab/skilled nursing/wellness facility would be great here. The health care system in Jamaica really needs improvement, not just for tourists but for the local population.
Throp that guy should pay you a consultation fee for this segment, you did an amazing job talking about the potential businesses this property could be used for….He just want to get it off his hands. Lots of potential.
I’ve stayed at Divine Destiny a couple of times. It definitely has great potential and is in a great location. It’s outdated and needs a TOTAL Reno! It needs to be turned into a gated community.
Throp, your consistency with the uploads is really commendable. Awesome property! Hopefully it's bought by the right investors with a heart for Jamaica.
Most international investors are extracting and not helping Jamaica or Jamaicans in general. The government only caters to Europeans, Arabs and Asians so Afro Jamaicans should just stay back. In general Jamaica is a neo colonial failed state run by white and mulatto peoples locally and international.
Throp, you and your family should acquire this property. You already have a vision of what could be done with it. I think you should go for it. I’m already booked to stay at Travelers in October. If you had this place I would consider staying there on a future trip.
For a retirement home, there must be a good hospital nearby as these will be older people. I have read horror stories about the hospitals in Jamaica. One of the reasons I haven't been back. One hospital in particular commits extortion on the people that go there.
Yo bredrin, mi like yu channel! nuff respect to yu sah! back then these people that own/owned dem place ya inna Jamaica used to get the best of Jamaica and took advantaged of di local people worst than now. I bet tru connection and being white him parents dem paid almost nuttin fi di property! I bet back then dem wouldn't even let local Jamaicans stay @ their property.
Aww, I stayed there years ago. It was my first time as a tourist to Jamaica, instead of staying with family. My friends and I had a fabulous time. I hope someone lovingly restores it.
Wow!!! This brings back incredible memories. Hello to your mom and dad from JF (downtown Montreal bartender 80's-90's) Stayed here with James Flood from Hudson before the place was even open.
Throp i love your content. But I would like for you to,address in details how the locals can tap into the opportunities. Not as workers, but that Afrocentric people can truly benefit from Jamaicas long term growth. What are the ups and downs......Thats very important as well.
"Afrocentric!" Jamaicans don't call themselves "Afrocentric ". We are Jamaicans of many different ethnicities blended in one people. We know we have African roots but we are also a fusion of all the different nationalities that were transported there. It makes us a people with several cultures blended into one.
@eileenwatt8283 Try telling that to the world outside of jamaica, eg America 😂😂😂😂😂. I get exactly what the brother is saying. Put on your critical thinking cap, perhaps you don't know or experience jamaica like so many of us do 🇯🇲.
A lot of Jamaicans are not focused on investing in Jamaica, they are focused on living abroad. Many who have left the island state they will never return home. We can’t have it both ways.
@@eileenwatt8283 Yet the big chain all inclusive hotels, don't want thier guests, mostly whites, who come to Jamaica, mingling with you "Out Of Many One People" because it is not "safe" for them to do so! They don't care if you're mixed up and blend up, you are black in their eyes! And yes some Jamaicans don't call themselves "Afrocentric", but they are sure willing to embrace and express their non-black lineage!!
@@anngore3842 Some Jamaicans are delusional! They want to claim every other race except their Afro part and think they are so "different" or "special". It's interesting though that the truly white Jamaicans may mingle but do not mix up with non-whites. They even send their kids away to their mother country like England, Canada etc for schooling or to live and if they stay a yaad it maybe a spoken or non-spoken code for them to not mix up or to marry non-whites! I could name some names but I won't!!
Just now came across this channel. This is fantastic content coming out of Jamaica. I appreciate it wholesomely. I didn't know there were plans to develop the Negril aerodrome to international airport status. That is a game changer for the area.
Right. But how large are those NY airports, how many runways do they each have and how long are those run way…Also, Jamaica has 2 major airports. Gotta do an apples to apples comparison based on volume of flights as opposed to population size
@@Throp if the Vernamfield is built. Not against/opposed to it just wondering if it makes more sense to construct an expressway to Negril from Mobay versus building an airport that would mainly benefit tourists.
I know someone who bought a 5 bedroom 2 bath one floor house recently for 4 million Jamaican dollars in an area with terrible roads in Jamaica but they are fixing it up nicely to make it there new home. The husband is a carpenter and doing most of the work himself. It's going to look beautiful.
Lol I wish I could. However I recently interviewed a Mobay realtor that will be up on the channel soon. If you want their contact info sooner shoot me a DM on IG @throp
Been living in Jamaica for last 12 years. If you dont know what you are doing here you will most likely get scammed, or murdered. Safety comes first. I'd say just be careful about investing in Jamaica.
