In this episode, I do a deep dive into the new storage system of my van. First, my van is a 1998 GMC Safari Van that I've built out into an overland style van. I took it on a 2 month van adventure last summer, and I packed so much stuff, and was so unorganized, it was almost criminal. This year I am determined to do better, so I put a big effort into reorganizing the space. I did this by sizing down a few key items, and finding some perfectly sized equipment. I also need to note that because I will have a canoe on my roof, and that also comes with some specific special needs. Mainly I need a small ladder, a waterproof barrel, canoe cart, 2 paddles, and a bailing bucket, all to fit inside with everything else I need to carry. Van camping gear, backpacking gear, propane fire, portable toilet, etcetera. So I went out and bought some new bins and waterjugs from Temu, Some more bins from princess auto, more from KMS tools, and basically totally re jigged the way my storage system worked together. One of the big problems my van had last year was the fact that mice got in and ransacked my food cabinet. I talk about that and why that's a big reason I needed to have mouse proof storage containers. I hope I don't get mice again this year, but if I do, I'm ready. I also talked a little bit about some of the items I carried last year that were big mistakes. If you're a regular viewer, you might notice that I changed up my portable toilet this year. I also added an upgraded shower setup. In my next video, I'll go deeper into what and why I'm changing up.
