I built a 1998 GMC Safari into the a lifted, 4x4 swapped, lean, mean, overlanding machine. I am taking that all over BC and Alberta, doing adventures, and then taking over the world. The band was called "The EH! Team" and they did a bunch of covers of old canadian classic rock songs. Maybe just classic canadian songs, I remember them doing Shania Twain and Alanis Morissette songs too. It was a good vibe, I definitely love hearing some of those old canadian classics.
You should definitely check out Wells Gray one day. It's definitely worth going up and down the clearwater lake road and seeing all the waterfalls on the way.
RV stands for Recreational Vehicle, considering how vague that term is you have a better argument than most to stay there, but technically any vehicle fits that bill.
I couldn't help but slap on some Creedence Clearwater when I went through that place. that's also pretty cool how you can get the almost drone style shots with the 360!
I don't actually know, there are no signs, but I feel like it was implied. Maybe there were rules posted at the entrance, but that's the beauty of the side door entrance😂. The showers were free, but I've definitely come across some coin operated showers at other campsites/parks. I have no problem paying for a shower if I need to, but it's nice to take advantage of a good deal when you can!
😂😂😂 100% I also bought my national parks pass and probably spent $500 on camping in national parks on this trip. They aren't sweating that shower, lol.
I think it's wild to stereotype a group of people because of a comedic video that a random guy posted on the internet. If you think it makes me look bad, sure, but I could of done this same thing in any vehicle. Even a Jeep! Ain't nobody getting hurt over a free shower.
This something a JEEP lover would say. As a Toyota guy myself, I say it’s ok to use the camp site government funded bathroom. You are a Canadian citizen, and they take every cent front you that they can..
It's not that deep bro. I've done this a few times (not a van dweller, just had no access to shower while camping). If you're respectful and clean then who cares?
Just about to do mine and def not looking fwd to it. I'm going w/ the OEM GM mounts for the RWD even though I have the Safari AWD. Will be adding 3/16" spacers too.
I'd definitely feel pretty awkward if someone showed up early in the morning to visit their grandma, and I was just chilling in my van watching Instagram videos...
Ahh, yes blue river. I really enjoyed my stay there. There is in fact a grocery store there but locals refer to it as the food museum as things have been on the shelf so long. There’s a pretty solid campground there, too. It was only $20 a night for the basic setup and wow, what a view!
Dang I had no idea. The convince store I bought my bags of chips was pretty shitty too, so I have to believe that the grocery store had to be better. I thought it was crazy because there were some balling looking houses on the lake, I think they belong to the helicopter place there. I think they do some pretty balling heli skiing out of there. They definitely seemed out of place, but interesting non the less.
@@SARGEinc its a super popular place for hunters and skiing, there's also a fancy seasonal lodge right on the river. You'd never know this just driving by!
Good to know that you had a good paddle the lake has a mind of its own we will go again for our third time hopefully for a week so we can complete the North arm 😊😊
Pretty spectacular adventure for sure! Indeed, with that sound, one really wouldn't think those were actually loons. Sure are long days of paddling, but one gets in a rhythm and it really is enjoyable. Pretty epic location!!

Agreed, it's nice to have a reason to go back. I'd like to go back when those 3 campsites were actually open. It would make things easier for sure. Also would be nice to try one or two of the hikes out there one day too.
Crazy trip man! Beautiful lake, but man she's got a dangerous side to her when the fires are lit and the thunders rolling hahaha. Just something to come back to and conquer again in a year or two.

It is my professional opinion that you made the right choices on this trip. Me on the other hand would have been stopping at the fires and hiking in to watch them. (Don't do what I would do, I've was trained). Even though I'm long retired I still like 🔥🔥🔥. I think you need to plan for the redemption tour next summer.
😂😂 There is definitely a little part of me that wanted to get out and look at some more of the burn, but I'd feel like a real sucker if one of those burnt trees fell on me.
I just got of a 4 day hike in Kootenay National Park, and I thought for sure I was going to see a bear there but didn't. A few other people saw some grizzlies out there, but I haven't seen anything. I am actually responding to this comment in a riverside parking lot in Radium that I saw a black bear in last summer, but so far nothing. I am thinking about heading back into Alberta tomorrow for another week or so, and I think if I'm going to see bears, that'll be the time. I don't like bears though, so I'm hoping not!
I definitely can get some paralysis by analysis when if I get too caught up with pre planning. There's somethings you need to know, but there's a lot you can just figure it out as you go!
Dang. I was actually just talking about you. I was talking to some strangers about disc golf on the trail, then some more people overhead me and joined in on the conversation. I all told them that my disc golf career all started because of some guy named Wes that commented on one of my RU-vid videos😂.
