I really liked "Hard to Kill", but maybe because it was the first Seagal movie I saw in the theater. Or maybe it was because of Kelly LeBrock. Flip a coin...
There are three one-liners in under seige which are my favorites. The part with Krill in women's clothing asking if he looks like he needs a psychological evaluation is #1. Tommy Lee Jones said he learned comedy from playing in Men In Black but I disagree. His deadpan response "not at all" is hilarious. Two more with Jodan and Casey though are still great. He runs through the corridor shooting twin uzis both ways and she runs up behind him to his complaint "what are you doing?" Her reply again is bililant: "The safest place on this ship is right behind you!" I believe this was in the trailer too. And finally part with the Seal Magnaphone beeping during this commotion and the Admiral on the other end she answers and is asked "who in the hell is this?!? The entire exchange is dead humorous. "I'm trying to get 'hold of Chief Ryback is he about?" and the reply "he's in a gun fight right now. I'll have to take a message." is absolutely great. Not necessarily the lines are good, but the delivery. Another one that was in the trailer. There are a few more parts of this film which stand out, but they're nowhere near as good as those three above.
@@gunnerbhb50 OK. You're right he even describes what is when he gives her a brief lesson on how to use it. But back in the 1980s and early '90s any weapon held like that would be genericially termed "uzi' by fans. It was only in films like this that such a weapon would ever be weild both directions like that too. The movies always ignore the physics of recoil. Only True Lies with Jamie Lee's scene trying to use what actually WAS an Uzi type weapon and the recoil pulls it out of her hand and in that scene it mis fires all the way down a flight of stairs hilariously killing everyone *except* Arnie. And the chemistry of Arnie and Jamie Lee in that film. I'd love to see anything with a reprise of such a merger. They made a very nice couple.
Seagal could have been such a huge action star if he had been humble, played realistic roles in realistic movies and stayed in shape. He really was on the cusp.
In supporting the autocratic dictator Putin and Russian aggression against Ukraine, he has finally lost my interest. His arrogance and unrealistic action movies were always a problem. But I agree he could have been a big star who will be remembered fondly. Sadly thats not going to happen now.
@@fizzy4149 Wrong, he was the star of one action movie, after its release the other 39 just got worse as his career went downhill. It takes a "special kind of stupid" to win the Worst Movie of All Time
@@carlmagrath6389 -- I just looked it up. He was the main character, ie the star, of 40 action movies. Just Google it and see for yourself. It wasn't just one movie. I can name five movies just right off the top of my head. But I can list all 40 if you want. I'm inclined to agree that many of those movies just suck. But our individual opinion doesn't matter.
I've seen every Steven Seagal movie and Under Siege is my absolute favorite. I know alot of people don't like him but I do and I've been a massive fan since Above the law. Thank you for the video. 😃
I saw this movie when it first came out, and it was fairly good. And was one of Steven Segal’s better movies, before his carrier sank into the abyss like a destroyed submarine.
Back in the days when he was long and lean, he was a real kung foo fighting machine Now his belly is the size of a sleigh and his fighting is at the line of the all eat buffet.
The master, or sailing master, is a historical rank for a naval officer trained in and responsible for the navigation of a sailing vessel. The rank can be equated to a professional seaman and specialist in navigation, rather than as a military commander. So when Admiral Bates joined the Navy his rank was Master Bates
Wow, me & my cat enjoyed watching this thrilling narrative episode of "Under Siege" & it always keeps my cat's ears up like an owl 🦉LOL. I've seen the entire movie before & it was sooo EXCITING & THRILLING! I've always admired the actor Steven Seagal who portrays Chief Casey the cook who is a HERO & uses martial arts to fight off those villainous mercenaries. Awesome! 👍👍✌✌😛😛😸😸
How wild is that Strannix not only put together a team of mercenaries but also that they could cater a party on a boat AND they were an actual blues band.
Seagal is one if the most disliked persons in Hollywood Narcistic to the extreme. However in the past his movies were popular. The fact that today he lives in Russia and is a friend of Putin and is pro-Russian in the war with the,Ukraine.
This movie was shot in my home town on the USS Alabama that's located on the Mobile River in Mobile Al over looking historical Mobile Bay. I have a few friends that were extras which is all the sailors that were trapped in the bottom of the ship where they flooded the crew to draw Casey out. I agree this was one of Seagal's better movies. Speaking of war ship movies there is one movie I want so bad for them to remake and that's " The Final Count down " If you have not seen it then you should JS
Just a little boat talk...It's pronounced "folk_sill" not "four_castle". Just say'in. BTW this was his best movie, loved her and the Ship. Good review over all..
This was a pretty good movie with some handy actors(Gary Busey,Tommy Lee Jones,Colm Meaney) Erika Eliniak was hot as and Steven Seagal played the hero well.
This was the movie of the time. Made you feel good even though you knew it wasn't real. Held out for the chance that anything could happen and such but, the truth is a bit different. Don't let falsely created things rule your thoughts, from then to now is a whole different story! Trust your interself if you have one left. If you're right, you will know, you will just know.
Another face in this clip that I can’t believe is in this is Glenn Morshower, playing the young butter bar officer. Compared to how he looks now, man, time has really flown by.
In the movie Battleship you can see the yellow I-beam they strung through the ship to offload the nukes. The chick playing Jordan Tate in Under Siege has a terrific body.
That was an absolutely fantastic action movie. Back when Seagal was in shape and did his own stunts. Gary Busey and Tommy Lee Jones shone like diamonds. Erica Eleniak's cheeks (all 4? 6?) were pink with delight.
Krill tells the VERY cautious Captain that the Admiral ordered it But the Captain doesant check on a guy that just broke Strict security regs?? Best movie and fun and silly. Sequel was great too using a train as the vehicle.
Loved this movie when it came out, but since Mr. Kung Fu Segal defected to Russia, I have no like for him nor his movies. The man's a bum as far as I'm concerned.....
Unfortunately for you, several references to Marines, is incorrect. The majority of these men are Navy. The only Marines shown in close proximity to Casey, are guards, or MP’s.
I guess when i saw this movie, it wasnt a plot hole when a shipboard missle took out a space-based satellite…and apparently it was the only one the government had for global communications? LOL
Let’s not forget Erika Eleniak! She looked pretty good in that cake. This is definitely from back in the 1990’s before the ideal woman needed to have a little “ extra cake”…
The hero male is talent hardworking passionate aggressive smart merciless straightforward mean spirited to bad guys and compassionate patient mercy for other
My father was a career, Navy Chief. and I served 4 years in USAF. I never heard my father mention anything like this. And I never observed this in the Air Force. If an officer had a problem with you, they took it to your commanding officer, not to you. This scene is bullshit!
