An Old Beachfront House In East Coast: Restored | Dream Spaces | Singapore Architecture 

Before the eastern coast of Singapore was reclaimed to develop Marine Parade public housing estate and East Coast Park, it was lined with seaside bungalows that date back to early 1900s. Many have since made way for modern houses, except for a handful that no longer enjoy waterfront living like before.
When architect Richard Ho was approached to renovate one such home in Chapel Road, he convinced its second-generation Peranakan owners to conserve their heirloom home. Not only did he restore the house to its former glory, he injected a new lease of life with a contemporary extension and even a lap pool.
