I met Benoit at a tiger sanctuary of all places 5 minutes down the road from me. I don’t think enough is talked about how WWE had these guys doing all kinds of these wacky random autograph tours WHILE having to travel and do their job. It’s no wonder some just cracked from the pressure.

It's interesting how meeting wrestlers IRL is something that really becomes engraved in your mind. When I was a kid, my grandpa's best friend who was a huge pro wrestling fan got us tickets and he told us the wrestlers would arrive at the back of the arena in a bus and they did. One thing I noticed was how big the shoulders of the wrestlers were. Among them was Scott Hall ( Razor Ramon back then ) and to this day it still amazes me how huge that guy was. There were some pretty tall guys waiting for the wrestlers but when Hall came out of the bus with the other wrestlers, he was towering over EVERYBODY, including Duke Droese who was pretty tall too. He definitely was the official billed 6'7'' height or to the very least 6'6''. That's why I keep telling people they're wrong when they say Hulk Hogan was 6'5''. Because I saw Scott Hall in real life on even ground and Hogan in his prime before his surgeries definitely was 6'7'' or 6'8'' since he was a bit taller than Hall.

@@TheFlamingPike I sat front row at a WWF house show in 99 and I was shocked how huge HHH looked in person when I had thought of him as being a smaller wrestler at the time on TV.

@@mikeg2491 I realized how tall HHH was when Tazz went face to face with him in the ring lol. I think this encounter pretty much killed Tazz because back then we thought he was much bigger due to ECW booking making sure he'd face wrestlers of his size. IMO Tazz made a mistake of standing face to face with HHH instead of just attacking him like a rabid wolverine. That's what made the difference with Mad Dog Vachon who was very small yet would constantly face big guys and get more over with the crowds.
