An Outsider’s Perspective on the Cleveland Show 

If you’re going to comment on us supposedly misusing < and >, I just want to say one thing first. If you have to explain the joke, there is no joke.

I always liked this show. Sure it wasn't the greatest thing ever made, but the voice cast are some of my favorite actors and at least the family didn't despise each other the way the Griffins do. It's a perfectly serviceable animated sitcom. Plus *David Lynch* is a semi-regular cast member, that gives it an extra 10 points right there. I do think Family Guy's gotten a little better over the last couple seasons, but I've always mostly just watched it for the songs and Muppet references.

American dad is the best one in a long shot.

The thing that stuck with me about this show is that the bartender was inexplicably played by surrealist filmmaker David Lynch. I will never quite understand how that happened.

I will say a lot of the writers didn't know how to or couldn't write for a Black family. That hit home with an episode saying Cleveland's pretty white for a Black Guy.

I personally liked this show growing up. It had it's flaws, but I think it had it's own unique set of characters.

The Cleveland show is a television show that I have watched.

King of the Hill DOES need a revival, (glad its in the works) it ended so anticlimacticly. What with that one episode with kahn being unintentionally the last episode. Futurama however, ended perfectly. It was being stretched too tgin, and becoming the Seinfeld version of itself, with like 3 movies to boot. I don't think it needs another season, but apparently Hulu/Disney+ thinks it does.

I personally liked the Cleveland show and respectfully disagree it did have characterization and it wasn't just a toned down family guy show it was actually pretty good not the best but it is better than modern family guy

I really enjoyed it, and it was interesting to see how they haned sensitive topics in certain episodes. It was funny and deserved to continue running.

I thought it was okay, but when this show was first talked about I was excited. I thought Cleveland was going to be about the calm man he was in Family Guy as everyone around him being crazy. I think that would have worked way better.

This video was as memorable as the Cleveland Show. I forgot it was playing as I was watching it.

I quite liked this show. Yeah it wasn't as good as other shows, but I was never disappointed when I watched it. There was some pretty good jokes in there. Not all of them landed, but you could tell there were some people behind the scenes that did try their best and actually wanted to output a decent product. I think the show got 4 seasons, which is respectable enough.

Gotta said I completely disagree that the Cleveland Show is bad. Yeah, it's not one of the best shows of Seth McFarland, but definitely not terrible. It does have some genuine funny moments and some of the characters are fairly likable.

The true winner of The Cleveland Show were the Memes, Roberta Tubbs Memes and the entire show being Black Family Guy will live on forever. However Fox took a big Loss in the long run.

Seth MacFarlane also stated he would've never created American Dad if Family Guy was never cancelled

Meh, the show is alright. The family is way nicer than the Griffins so that's a massive plus. Didn't agree with the video, but a good video all the same.

Despite some of the flaws I can agree with, The Cleveland Show is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me.

Me personally, I actually don't mind The Cleveland Show (then again my standards are far lower). Whenever the show was on, nothing really turned me away from it. I feel a good reason for that is because The Cleveland Show was built to be that way, I knew what to expect with it and I could forgive a show for being mediocre at best if that's how it always was, whereas with Family Guy it's a show that had degraded to the point good faith had began to drain considerably. Family Guy and The Cleveland Show are a bit like cheese. Family Guy's cheese was ripe starting out and through many seasons but has started to become moldy. The Cleveland Show is like blue cheese, it stinks like hell but that's the way it's meant to be.

The most F'd up, sad and anger indulging part of The Cleveland Show is when they had to put in FG is now "people" qoute Stue's crap response to to meeting Rylo for the 1st aka "Keep walking, you Boondocks ripoff" when nobody called the show that til Stue said it but need to use The Boomdocks because they just wanted to inflate they're own egos while not telling their own fans the truth plus they just wanted to use the name of one of the most respected black animated shows.

Pretty good video. Even as a big defender of Family Guy until about Season 8-9 (which I guess is an unpopular opinion in the “animation community” to an extent) the Cleveland Show struck me as painfully mediocre and I never enjoyed it too much when on but it didn’t deserve all the hate. Far from one of the worst adult animations out there.

Why does no one who write animated sitcoms not do different characters, like a fat dumb mom with a heart, a nice skinny husband who is the standard 50s dad, children that act like children and a different pet then a dog or a cat.

Cleveland family still cannon but sadly since the negatively to the show they just are supporting characters and nothing more sadly but it seems their trying to change that a bit as Donna is now part of Lois friend group.

Peter has been nicer to Meg in the resent episodes, Lois is worse then him now

I honestly think Fox should have kept the Cleveland Show and canceled Family Guy because The Cleveland Show is actually funny and it has some funny moments compared to the current season of Family Guy.

You know i never thought about this but if you don't like the fact that there are upcoming reboots and revival of tv shows/movies then why don't you simply ignore them and not make videos/reviews on them since if you know you won't like it then why you would you watch it to begin kinda how james said he wouldn't review ghostbuster 2016

Then again, compared to zombie Family Guy, the Cleveland show wasn't that bad. Plus I do remember one or two things from the show, like Tim the Bear remembering he's a bear and if Donna doesn't cut it out *BEAR ROAR* and I thought their Die Hard Parody had effort for a half hour episode

Again they should have allowed this show to BE it's own thing! Make it more of a wholesome side of thing. Not just another family guy . Maybe more growth, down to earth life lessons that can get crazy but maybe KEEP a strong family values. That and give it a time limit like where Cleveland goes there to work for a certain time like a year or two to get back on his feet with his son wanting him to make better memories with his son...have him and Donna not INSTANTLY marry have a slow build. Before they ultimatumly move back once they've made there community better, they've finalized their union and their family is whole.

I don't care for the other McFarlane properties but I actually enjoy Cleveland 🤷‍♀️

I think 'The Cleveland Show' had it's moments, but wasn't nearly as good as 'Family Guy', 'American Dan', or 'King Of The Hill'. It's basically 'Family Guy Lite'.

I didn't like the Cleveland show either. Being a bit older I also them using Sanford and sons references like Rollo and Donna without the humor of that show. It was bad all around.

I perosnaly thinl the cleavland show is kind of bland At least american dad has jokes i like and was out there! There's a scene where roger said that he was gonna play a role for the film Monster's Ball and he said "MAKE ME FEEL GOOD" family guy is like 2nd place but cleavland show blah!

I think you have a pretty biased opinión on family Guy i understand that It is your opinión but i reccomend you to watch the old season speciallly episodes like: emisión imposible,to love and die in dixie,Brian wallows and Peter swallows, Brian swing and sings, a fish out of water,lets go to the hop and the Road to episodes. Those episodes have great jokes amazing storys and with cutaways that help to pace the humor

I actually used to watch the show when I was a kid on Adult Swim, it’s was a long long while since I watch the show and I’m not planning to watch it anytime soon Sorry but i’m sticking to Family Guy and American Dad thank you 🫤
