I’ve watched this episode 25 and a half times, it’s a true masterpiece. It took me until watch 22 to fully understand just how good it was. Some cool things I noticed that really strengthened my love for the episode were: 1. By this point some viewers are getting annoyed by Caine, but gooseworx knows this and creates a dynamic between someone that’s been tired of him for years and Caine at his most annoying ever. This creates a connection between the audience and zooble that most didn’t have before. 2. Kinger talks about how “being surrounded by darkness always brings him back to a certain time” and we can see this throughout the episode. As there are more references to dead spouses and Kinger is surrounded by darkness more and more, he becomes more and more grounded. Then the moment they’re in the light, he goes back to being crazy. 3. “Try not thinking about it” is more than just a callback. It’s kinger’s coping mechanism, it’s what he does to avoid abstraction. It’s the most unbreakable one of any of the circus mechanism, but it requires enormous sacrifice. By “not thinking about it” Kinger does avoid thinking about the things that make him abstract, but he becomes a shell of a human most of the time. It’s only when he secures himself in his pillow fort he can maintain a shred of his sanity, using the only memory he has control over 4. Kinger has so far been portrayed as just a lunatic, too absorbed in his own thoughts to be aware of his own surroundings. But it’s with the line “the worst thing you can do in this world is make someone feel like they’re not wanted or loved” we see how much wisdom is buried in his chaotic mind. The parallel between zooble blatantly telling Caine nobody likes him in the previous sequence and kinger’s speech shows how Kinger in his age and time in the circus has achieved a level of maturity, despite his lack of sanity, that zooble and the others are nowhere near. 5. When pomni talks about how Kinger will just go back to being crazy, Kinger PRETENDS to be at peace with this. He isn’t happy with the end result, we can see it with the face he makes while pomni is saying this. He makes sure to put his face back to one of serenity and assuredness by the time pomni looks back at him, making sure she doesn’t notice. He puts on a mask of strength to make things easier on pomni, to make her feel less guilt. Less fear. Less dread. It really cements how at 20 years older than the other circus members, he can act as a father figure to them.
Minor nitpicky correction: The thing uou called a laundry shoot is actually a dumb waiter, a mini goods elevator, usually used to deliver stuff from the kitchen to the upper floors of a house. That doesn't explain why it was locked on that floor, but that's why Kinger and Pomni thought they should be able to take it back up. It's likely that it was rigged to go down whatever anyone did because that's where the game needed them to be, but considering those thunhs aren't designed to take a single person, that's probably not an unrealistic result of two people climbing into one at the same time.
Hey dude i love watching smaller channels grow! But if i might make a constructive comment, this video wasn't really "what makes ep3 the best" and more of just an exact play by play recap of the episode itself.
tip for content creation try to shorten the indroduction, you have great video quality but the 50 seconds of talking makes people click off. Good work keep it up
