Respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, strikes fear into the hearts of parents, especially those with very young babies. It’s not very kind to other compromised populations, either. We’ve been working toward a vaccine for a long time, and it looks like we’re close to those efforts paying off.

My niece got rsv when she was a toddler. It was horrible, and if my sister and brother-in-law hadn’t had Medicaid coverage for her bills, they probably would have been ruined by the costs. Progress for this vaccine is excellent news.

My good friend’s sweet infant son passed away from complications due to RSV last December. It’s been heartbreaking for her and her family. I’m excited and hopeful to see more options becoming available to help protect our littlest ones, and elderly loved ones as well.

@@bethn2836 No vaccines for infants = no suffering later in life. WE HAVE IMMUNE SYSTEM, we need NOT masons poisons. To boost our immune system is easy also: alone with GOD - through HIS WORD - BIBLE in nature or indoors. physical activity in outside doors. We are DUST and shall return back to DUST. We are not man made in lab, that we should need man made pills. medicine is business, which is build on sick people. Well, nobody born sick, therefore how can medicine survive as just business? - through turning healthy into sick. 1st fear propaganda: all these illnesses we suffer if not poison ourselves aka vaccinate. then they come to us with these needles and sick we are into our graves. So far is just because of FEAR PROPAGANDA that sends souls to vaccinate themselves. The flue seasons = immune system testing season, to show us, does our immune system still work in all these ways it should. Flue is not sickness for the needle.

nope. no thanks. still having major problems from the J&J. Everyone should be wary. I can't even get a diagnosis other than "tinnitus" and it has been 2 years now. All I will say is tinnitus is an understatement.... more like nonstop misery every day of my life now. The worst part is I that I have been left completely on my own to deal with it. J&J lists "persistent ringing in the ears" as a side effect now. But the FDA says the opposite. Maybe the FDA should get their story straight.

Same, injured for 2 and a half years by Phizer. I have 10 diagnosis now but all they can off is a few select meds and mostly psych meds.. Ireland is warped.

I was under the impression the rsv for pregnant mothers was approves, so approves by advisory committee but not widely available. Is there a way to get it/be a part of early study in the us? My spouse is pregnant and will be having the baby in october

Don't do it. Even under the circumstance she has natural immunity. This is still a novel experimental pharmaceutical product. Think, use logic, they want to sell you something No, worse, experiment. She's at risk for CNS damage and myocarditis from "spike protein" she has no opportunity to consent to long term risk.

Today I learned RSV isn't just dangerous for children. We're also immuno-compromised, still doing all the same protection against covid as during the pandemic though (N95, etc) but still it's good to know to watch out for when this vaccine becomes available. Hopefully it will be offered for disabled/immuno-compromised but non-senior adults which tends to be often forgotten even though our health can be way worse than many over 60.

You should take a look at what happened the last time they administered a vaccine for RSV. It was a disaster... Just something to take into consideration.

My daughter had RSV. She had to be flown from our local hospital to the nearest childrens hospital. She was there for 3 days.

What are the policies and procedures for the vaccine injured? What medications will be required? For how long, few weeks, months, years? Rest of their life. Who will pay for these medications, how much are they? What specific consultants will be educated and deal with the vaccine injured? Is it a difficult process to be accurately diagnosed with vaccine injury, or post vaccine illness? Will they be entitled to benefits or compensation for their lifelong chronic iatrogenic injury from this vaccine? Who is there to support families of the vaccine injured and bereaved?

I am not sure if my daughter who is nearly 4 ever had RSV. She is one of those kids who spent all but the first 6 months of her baby and early toddler hood during lockdowns. It will be interesting to see how COVID 19 and it's lockdowns changed the babies and toddlers who grew up during this time.

This is the kind of paper that I fell like a great win for health overall. Generally what we get is a high cost, very specifical drug, that reduces hospitalizations (but not death) from a rare condition. 😂😂 This has a direct impact on the public health, health costs and more! I mean, it may, hypothetically, reduce the onset or even prevent new cases of asthma.

I expect that I be requesting this vaccine 💉 from my primary care doctor when turn 65 in what seems like an impossibly too few years. 😁 When discussing relative risk, in this case relative risk reduction, you often also mention absolute risk reduction. You gave the apparent absolute risk for the side effects of greatest concern. What is the absolute risk reduction of disease and severe disease with the vaccine?

Why is there only a focus on protecting infants if the elderly are also vulnerable? Is no one pursuing a vaccine for the elderly or just adults in general?

And if adult mothers are already able to get vaccinated, why the need for a new, special vaccine for them to be able to pass antibodies to their babies?

The first vaccine we discuss in the video (Arexvy) is the one just approved for those 65 and older! I think our video title may have led to some confusion - we discuss vaccines for both populations in this video. :) -Tiffany
