We didn't plan to go offshore fishing this day. The winds that were forecasted to be strong and unruly, become exactly that. The original plan was to catch bait, Go jigging on the inside and fish for Ono (Wahoo) on the ledge but a call from a friend. We Travelled 12 miles in search for Otaru (Big Skipjack Tuna). When we arrived to our first pile we hooked up to our trouble maker. Marlin, not high on our pelagic fish to catch, we brought it in to have meat in the cooler. It was a fun bumpy ride, and way better than staying home. Every day is a new day, you never know. SHOOTEES!

props to you, thanks for sharing. where do you launch from? i can see ko'olina, but it's not how i remember it. and are your reels avet 80's? we use 80's and 50's and love them. you should make a review on them, there isn't much info out there and viewers would trip to see what you're catching with them. keep up the good work.

Much thanks! yeah ko’olina has a new ramp now. It’s really nice, closer than Waianae and don’t have to handle the surge. Yeah we got the Avet 80’s. They’re beast of reels and make the Tiagras look like child’s play. The low gear is super strong. I will plan to do a review on the Avet’s after this Ahi season, hopefully we can showcase the Avet’s in all its glory. Much thanks for watching 🤙

Why don't you stop the boat?

The reason we don’t stop the boat with marlins is for the unpredictability and the danger they can pose when bringing them in. While in gear, you can have the ability to lead the fish. Giving us more control.

19ft glasspro. But we modified it by creating an enclosed transom and a 2ft bracket made by Plastech the manufacturer of the boat. Hope this helps 🤙
