At one point I accidently said Maggie Smith instead of Maggie Wilson. I don't know if Maggie Smith is a sommelier but it wouldn't surprise me if she was.

😂 I looked up and found that there are cannabis sommelier courses. It costs anywhere from US$250 -2,997 to take a certification course.
@SparkleDivineTarot

@@oekmama LoL it's interesting. Just another cash grab by a venture capitalist. Wine sommeliers spend YEARS learning the craft. Sommelier is an earned title that comes after years of study. It's not an online certificate. In the thousands of years that people have been cultivating cannabis, I refuse to believe she was the first Black female cannabis sommelier. Perhaps the first in her class, or the first in that program, the first of her name, but not the first ever...
@oekmama

@@SparkleDivineTarot 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 the first of her name?! Dead.💀☠️ I‘m from the Caribbean, where ganja is a thing. So I had expectations!🤭 shocking, I know. I thought I was going to see some more about spiritual cannabis use from maybe India, Southern Africa, Rastafari. PS- you‘re gold, you’re not stupid, you’re not disorganized and yes, your discernment is on point. It makes me laugh to think this sommelier is going to argue people down into liking her slapdash work. 😂🤣😂🤣

Came here straight after reading the review on Indie Deck Review and love your honesty. One shouldn't have to sugarcoat when a deck is created with such little thought or consistency. The art as you said is gorgeous and I hate to say it but I might cave on buying it due to that alone. I'm sure something can be done with it but it's a shame that the guidebook was so...well, misguided lol. The misuse of the Orishas in this deck is mindboggling! Plus cannabis decks are certainly becoming a bit of a trend aren't they? It would be nice if some of the proceeds for these decks would go to organizations fighting to free people caught up on possession charges. Great, thorough review!

Thank you for your perspective! You put it perfectly on why I sadly removed this deck from my cart. I love the artwork - gorgeous. The letdown is the structure for me. Oracles with full on systems need to have numbers/sequency/order and a continuity of flow from suit to suit. I looked at a few walkthroughs, studied the online images and arrived to the conclusion that I will likely never pick up this deck to use in a reading. I am very pleased the card count is a bountiful 78 👍🏾. For 78 cards, the cardstock looks unforgiving, tho😓. I can see it being read intuitively - but I have a plenty decks to do that already. As a Californian, I had high hopes for this deck 😝.

Hi Kim❤ I purchased this deck without looking at the reviews 🙃I love the artwork and as you mention, I will be using the deck intuitively. It's a shame the creator is not using constructive criticism (repeated patterns from various reviews) as motivation to improve the deck (2nd edition) or things not to repeat in her next deck. It show her heart and soul went into creating this oracle deck. But, with the creative process (from my experience) once the product is out in the market you have to let go, to release. It's an important process for designers and creators alike.

Thank you for this review. When I first saw it I already know I wouldn't get it because the subject isn't my thing, but the art is beautiful. Your review was so thorough, if I had gotten it I can see I would also be annoyed by the points you raised. Then I heard about the brouhaha the creator made - not a good look or move. I would cross them out of my list of people to support with my money. The other thing, it says it's an oracle but many cards, especially that "main arcana" are so similar to the RWS major arcana. That would bug me a bit. Finally, I need to say that you look amazing! The hair, glasses, nail polish, the top, your energy and smile even while you're ranting... It's all on point and I'm in awe!! 😍😍

Not necessarily. The seed and sickle oracle is exclusively liminal 11 If I’m not mistaken. The art is gorgeous and it would make for a beautiful oracle if only the guidebooks didn’t feel like fortune cookies messages. It’s still not comparable to what we see here but I feel that Liminal 11 should do a better job at editing and supervising their products. This is totally unacceptable by the way. I asked my guides if I should get this and they agreed. I received the deck and immediately was disappointed with the fact that I felt like I would need to study it for months to remember the card meanings. Even intuitively using the deck I have no idea.....I think after this I will experiment with groups of smaller decks that I will fabricate from this one deck. I’m not sure how yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out. Good review, very in-depth.

I tried looking up Vry and eventually found that it is an Afrikaans Creole word that means “free” or “making love.” So for the fool, free makes sense. Adding that information in the guidebook would be helpful for sure. 👍 I LOVE the art in this deck though. I’m not against more complex decks with layers of meaning, but one would need to be interested in taking time to learn about subjects like cannabis use in the context(s) (social, cultural, metaphysical) indicated by the creator, and metaphysical concepts. Then there are deities to learn about as well. I can see how that would be overwhelming for some people. I almost wanted to get a copy to see if I could figure it all out, put it together, and post a reading video in the future. 🤔

Oh dear. I am SO grateful for this review! I am SO DISAPPOINTED. But thankfully, I'm disappointed before I spent any money. I was so excited for this release, but I have just removed this deck from my wishlist. This pretty much never happens. My collection is currently at 342 decks, so you can see I have a problem saying no to any deck. But with the rich potential of the whole amazing world of cannabis, to throw out that expectation and then leave anything about it completely out--I agree with you that it feels like a money grab. I mean, you could have a deck where each card is a term directly related to cannabis. I would buy the shit outa that. But not this one. I agree with your criticisms and I appreciate your experienced honesty. I was so looking forward to my own unboxing of this, but it's getting bounced. Blessed be, my dear!

It's absolutely NOT you, Havana! I am very confused by this deck as well. I did receive a review copy from Liminal 11 and when it arrived I was immediately confused by the structure, or lack thereof. I had to write abbreviations of the suit names on the actual cards before filming just so that I had *some* organization to the chaos. In my video I hadn't worked with the deck, I just took it out of the box, attempted to organize it to be able to present it and ever since I have been scratching my head as to how I would even use this in my personal practice. And then, when I heard B (Ikale Sunflower, as you mentioned) speaking about the specifics of the Orishas especially it really turned me off. 😔Like you, I really enjoy the style of the artwork in this deck. That's what originally drew me in. However, the more I have been sitting with it the more confused I get. I also watched Martyn's (Martyn's Musings) review on the deck and it appears he's also not impressed. *sigh* I really wanted this deck to be so much more. Like you said, where's the information about the actual PLANT that the deck is named after? 🧐😵‍💫If a wine sommelier made a deck about wine and never mentioned anything about the actual wine (growing regions, tastes, food pairings, etc) that would be ... weird. 🥴🍷Thank you for your honest review, as always. I am going to do a follow up video on this deck as well to express my opinions now that I have had the chance to sit with the cards and the guidebook a bit. Much love! 🌱🌹

I need to remember the artist’s name. Looks like the Artist did a great job, the production team did a good job. The creator not so much. And she seemed bitter about it. These days, science is looking at plant psychedelics to connect to the subconscious or to higher states. And it’s been super difficult to find a deck that can visualize it. There have been a few mushroom decks, or mushroom suits, but not 100% successful. I think the artist does a great job in capturing the consumption experience. So maybe one could RELABEL the cards, since the keywords aren’t so dominant. 🤣Looks great for a mod!

I hope this helps, but they’re pretty much tarot. The meta arcana in this deck is the major arcana in the traditional Rider - Waite - Smith deck. If you look at the imagery it helps associate the two. Vry, being the first card in the deck would be the fool card, the Manifesteer would be the magician, the Witchdoctor would be the High priestess, Sarauniya Uwa is the Empress, and so forth. I agree that this deck is not ideal for beginners, however I find the imagery and keywords to be helpful, being a reader for about 8 years now.

This is a colorful and fun-looking deck, but it has nothing at all to do with cannabis, either weed culture or cannabis as a plant ally. I'm disappointed. I feel like the creators pitched it to the publisher as another kind of oracle, and Liminal 11 said, "No thanks." And the creators said, "What if we put cannabis leaves all over it?" And L11 said, "Yeah, that'll work."

I had to laugh, because I almost bought this deck a few months ago and something stopped me. After watching this review, I’m glad I passed. Two things I noticed during your flip through really bothered me: 1: How are you going to have a card that says “silence” yet the girl in the picture has earbuds in? 2: for me, many of the card names didn’t make sense with the descriptive word listed under the name. Also, unless one knows a deities stance on cannabis, it seems kind of disrespectful to use their name/likeness in a cannabis deck. According to one review on Amazon two of the cards in the deck are different names for the same deity. One of the pictures is a white woman, but the deity named is black. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Overall, the artwork is nice, though there were a few cards in particular that I didn’t like the images shown. I feel like to make a deck like this - especially if featuring deities- you should be deeply attuned to those beings and very cognizant of how you portray them. It’s clear to me this wasn’t the case. I’m glad I dodged this deck. Thank you for such a comprehensive and thorough review!❤
