Lol I'm sure this wouldn't work with most judges, in fact many would feel it's an attempt to manipulate them. But Judge Caprio is not most judges. He has a kind heart which is how the kids got their parents out of paying

that could be somewhat true but that's a little disrespectul towards Judge Caprio imo because that would let him appear naive and not so self aware. So taking into consideration of the difficulty of becoming a judge plus he has been a judge since 1985 so over 30 years. That is a huge amount of experience so he "kinda seen it all" and has a good human reading ability. That means that he would come to the same verdict with or without children is not so unlikely

As a hell raiser In my younger days I got a public defender and I could never get ahold of them only time they call back is when I said I would apply for new one then it was bare minimum of representation. In the 6 no it took to settle case I think I saw lawyer 3 times including day of court

You can tell from the public defender's body language how uncomfortable she is next to the offender. She still did her job well, even stopping her client when he was about to hurt his case (you can hear her "no" at 7:58)

there something seriously wrong with the criminal justice system when a lady with 5 parking tickets has to pay 150 dollars and a guy interfering with a investigation pays 50 bucks. The cost to arrest him, the court, his public defender, he should be charged with all that. Why is a private boot company shown preference over the tax payer? Balance that equity judge!
