She has a naturally raspy voice and is not forcing it. In fact, was lucky enough to see her in concert last month and, at 66, she still sings very well…. Still has quite a voice.

I don’t think you realize the real beauty of her voice. That is her natural voice it’s not forced.. if you listened to all her songs that’s her.. she does t destroy because it’s her unique voice. You would destroy your voice because you don’t have that gift.. with all due respect

Ana Gabriel is a singer/songwriter. She's a pop/ballad singer but she had a couple of albums with mariachi. She named herself Ana Gabriel after Juan Gabriel. Most Spanish singers use Stage names for strategy purposes. Something that sounds catchy and unique out in honor to someone they admire. Therefore you'll see a lot of repeated names.

I’m surprised that you obsess over the raspiness of Ana Gabriel’s voice. She is not straining at all because if she was, she would have lost her voice by now. She has been singing with that voice for 60 years now and she is still active. Did you ever hear of Joe Cocker or Rod Stewart ? They have obvious raspy voices and they are part of their trademarks.
