Uveravam vas da bi Jimi bio oduševljen i svirkom i stasom i glasom da ima priliku da čuje ovu našu lepu i vatrenu gitaristicu.Sigurno je se ne bi postideo.Dragulj na našem muzičkom nebu!
very pleased that she would do THIS Hendrix song; breaks a string but still shreds on the next axe on short notice. So professional under the scrutiny of the camera, Ana's so good - Jimi's digging this wherever he is...
This SURE kept my attention ..... and I was blessed to see Jimi on a night when he was really cookin" ... I know he would've appreciated this ! Don't think many players would even attempt this !
Bob!! I have her seen her many times. Killing it!!! Sweat coming down her face! I saw her play once with Ronnie Earl at the Hungry Tiger Conn. THey did burn the house down. Do not think Ronnie would show up and play a set with her. He knows how great she is! She used to travel in a Van with her kid! She been paying her dues for a long time!!!!
Anna is a great person! She seems to find the time to talk with anyone after a show. PS> I was very lucky and did a private photo shot at the beach in Florida with Anna. Some very cool photos. But it was windy and had to much sand in my camera.
Amen brother! Ronnie played with her in Londonderry NH a few years ago and noone tried to outdo the other! Balance and humility were the show that night!
Being playing Jimis stuff for more than 40 years now, I know my way around the block. Maybe Ana is playing most of the original notes, and not moving much outside the pentatonic scale, But she IS playing the good things. I like her energy, changing guitars for some broken strings, without being stopped, a somewhat slow intermezzo, her own interpretation,,,this is more than OK. I mean,,, she is PLAYING the most of you are TALKING. Bravo Ana,,, keep on doing your thing.
+pbstratocaster I play guitar, she's good but not like Hendrix. Not saying I can play like him, but it is what it is and you shouldn't praise her just because a hot girl is playing a guitar.
+Nick Pastorino I dont know what your angle to this really is?.Nobody,, NOBODY plays like Hendrix. Its quite naive to put that into argumentation.Im positive about Ana´s playing coz she has that energy many copycats lack. The slightly chaivinism remarks about being a "hot girl" is only in your mind.
+pbstratocaster The only person who I have heard who got close to Jimmi was jeff Healey his hands were not as large but he played with the guitar on his lap and his hand over the neck . This lady knows what she is doing with the guitar I am used to Jimmi playing this ,slower so the soul feel comes through but maybe my mind is comparing
Damn, I just can't stop listening to this! She has changes here that Hendrix NEVER thought of pulling off. How can you "naysayers" dismiss this? This is pure talent! She "has it"!!
Hell yes brother . I don’t even watch her hotness , but close my eyes for those phrasing . I agree Jimi never played it that way . That explains how every human being is unique
encore une fois, elle nous fait vivre une superbe émotion. Ana Popovic, de la balle, sans retenue, le pied. Du Hendrix, sublimation. interprétation élégante. Patrick
I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this lady's chops.!!!she is most definitely one of the best players in the world 🌎 the more I see 👀 and hear her, the more convinced I am that she may very well be the BEST PLAYER in the entire WORLD 🌎 😀 👍 😉 👏 👌
I'm compelled to play as jimi wrote- best as I can, this is a masterpeice of a song, not a pentatonic jam. First she has little idea of how the intro goes- not even the initial bends which identify this tune - as they catch the next string and gradually release. She next drops the ball at 1:19 please listen to the real version- the subtle brilliance of this composition is lost. She has chops- just didn't learn much more than a rhythm sadly, on display here
Haters will hate. I say, Ana - Great effort! Lots of nice stuff. No one is Jimi but Jimi. If no one tries to play Jimi live, then he'll only be heard on recordings... that's OK, but maybe not what Jimi'd want. Like pbstratocaster said below, "We're talking, she's playing".
Look how high the action is..I have really strong hands but this girl kicks my ass! That guitar looks about as easy to play as a 2x4 with strings on it...this chick is amazing!
At least some Stratocasters like really high action, and pickups far from the strings, mine included. I played mine for years before I decided it didn't quite sound right. Then, I saw a Popa Chubby video and noticed his setup was just that way (and so dirty that I might be afraid to touch it due to the possibilty of disease transmission). So, I started experimented. And, ended-up setup quite like his. The tone opened-up; kind of "woodsy" and so much quack on 2 & 4 that you would expect to see a duck. Since then, I have noticed many Strats the same way. It's quite strange, actually. Every guitar I've ever owned was completely opposite; lowest action possible, pickups close to the strings. But, my strat plays like butter, even with the high action.
@@kenfoland! Other guitarists always said they were suprised to see the high action on Jimis' guitars, saying it was a jazz set-up with medium gauge strings. If you have your tremolo spring action set up as easy as possible, that softens the string feel.
Nothing magical about it .. I'ts just music who ever plays it . You are a sucker if you fall for it and the sound of sirens that will lead you and your ship to crash on the rocks ! ...
Yeah, nobody's asking for free old man advice, seeing as how I was playing this song when the album came out, with a Stratocaster and Marshall with effects. The intro to this song featured Jimi's most incendiary riffs, and flaming, burning and smoking tones, lots of flangering, more phasing, something I'd like to see her get into. American cities were burning, and Jimi played through it all.
Saw her play this last night during the Experience Hendrix tour in Cincinnati. For me, she was the star of the night. Somehow I've passed over her all these years but no more. I will find everything she's ever done and love it up. What an amazing performance and artist.
I love the way her lines stab, snap, slash, and crackle with energy. She plays hard, punching the rhythm out through her leads. Those of you who pick on her for sloppiness have a point, but it's really a matter of her live performance style. It's fun to watch someone who is really into it and owns the stage. If you're looking for perfect sound and execution, you should hear some of her studio work--it's clean and stylish, but more reserved.
Hell yes Ana I had a great time . Your chops and voice are like perfection when God created you . I have seen you twice at Hendrix shows one at the Greek Theater. You are like a ghost to me . Someone I want to get to know SO much . Yet I will never meet . If I could get my HSS Strat 2001 signed I could die a happy man . I live in middle of Los Angeles
First few notes were awesome, then I felt like it kinda mushed from there to like this an uptempo jazzy blues version. Bravo on her for even trying it. Jimi never played this during his set. It’s a complicated song. Nice interpretation. You can’t find many others out there even trying this song.
Ana singer songwriter guitar slinger watched for many years a gift from above born with the blues it’s in her fingers the best can’t get better from scorching riffs chops to mellow ain’t she the best the has seen up a notch to only her level 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
she plays in St. Louis fairly often.. bad ass for sure..we like the Blues and blues rock a lot right here!! St. Louis is blues city. Along with New Orleans, Memphis, and Chicago.. so come on down and check out some of our local greats.. yeah.. some have passed long ago, but we still have many.. this lady is from Eastern Europe, not a St. Louis native.. but, she has a very enthusiastic audience here, for sure.
+SuperWidemouth everyone knows that!! have you ever seen him play here? I have seen him play at least 4 times.. he is everything to rock and roll!! I have seen his daughter Ingrid and son Charles playing also.. are you from here in St. Louis? I have seen so many legends..
+Michael Craig Chuck Berry can't be mentioned often enough. The father, dad, creator, god of rock 'n roll. I was born in LA and now living in Miami Beach. I am also called Superwidemouth by some.
Absolutely one of the best covers of a Hendrix song by anybody that I've heard.. using her own style, not trying to cop SRV's tone or another Hendrix copycat!
Damn. From Serbia. No wonder I've never heard of her. Solid right hand. Kind of a unique motion with it on the up and down beats. She's obviously got huge ears and gobs of talent, coming from that place and sounding like that. Props.
I'm not from Serbia, but you definitely should do some research if you are going to write such a stupid and close minded comment. But at least we both can agree that she's a great musician.
With The introduction of the original version of this piece we have crossed Seven astral planes emotional this "riff" is the big-bang of the electric guitar.
I think Ana is very good and I enjoyed listening to this re-working of a favorite Hendrix track. I would like to hear the guitar playing produced by the critics below (probably 1/2 of you don't even play the guitar)
EHHH ANA Y OUR PERFORM IS MYTICAL!!!!!! JIMMY IS NOT DEAD .....UTILISATIONS EFFECTS IS SO GOOD YEAHHH MIIS ANA P LAY AGAIN LONG TIME.. JACKYFAN 👍 MR JIMMY HENDRIX➕R.I.P.IN PARADISE. YOUR RÉINCARNATION IN WOMEN IS REALLY...LEGEND WITH NAME MISS ANA.
Very much enjoy the tone she is using (Univibe with a volume pedal?) and her phrasing. Very personal. Heard a bit of Trower like phrasing too. Robin also is partial to the Univibe. Jimi basically put it on the map. Excellent job of making the song her own and not just copying Jimi licks note for note. She is an excellent improvisationalist in her own right.
This is my favorite clip of Ana so far...a very tasty & cool rendition of one of Jimi's finest songs with some fine extended jamming. Don't worry Ana, I was singing backup for you while you changed guitars, yeah!
I have all my Strats set up like this. using gauge 11 strings and she has some very strong hands cause I can see shes got 11 on if not 12. I keep coming back and forth to this and Randy Hansen..
I'm bloody impress with this girl's guitar work She can shred with the best of them.. Does remind me of how God used his Strat. as an experimenting tool.
