Ana is right. Having national health care would be a game changer and benefit almost everyone in this country. I make between $24,000 and $26,000 a year and my deductible in the marketplace is $8,000 before they even begin to kick in for a minimum amount of coverage. Basically, it is worthless.

As a Belgian i went to the doctor once for 30 minutes. She did a blood test and conversation. Had 50 Euro ready to pay. The doctor said it was 5 Euro. I was like: "Are you sure?" As a Brit, I went to the doctor few times in the last year (after never having been for years and years). The system is in trouble with more older people but still works.

Ze kloppen soms wel overuren, maar dat doen ze omdat ze mensen willen helpen. Kies de dokter die het best bij jou past. Een oudere of een jongere dokter. Vrouw of man, het maakt niet uit. Elke Belg krijgt zorg! Ook mensen die illegaal ons land binnenkwamen krijgen medische zorg als dit nodig is, zelf als ze dit niet kunnen betalen. Ga eerst langs bij de dokter. Name a single policy position where they uphold the reasoned position because they arrived upon it as what they think or is the empirical position. @@emperorgizmo3014 this is some of that bloviating I was talking about. Yeah, I'm not a fan of virtually anything the right want...but what's important is that many others who don't fall neatly in the right/left spectrum are at least willing to give the right wing a hearing. These people are "gettable", and the left/liberals should deploy our spokespeople wherever and whenever we get an opportunity to make our case...no matter how much some of us might feel "insulted" debating them. The Trump election...and too many other ones...have demonstrated clearly that the left/liberals/progressives are simply too few in number...or else, too few in certain districts where they're needed...for us to do anything without these other people.

@martinlopez4430
@martinlopez4430 Год назад
Yes, thats the bottom line!
@matthewTodd97
@matthewTodd97 Год назад
This is not "the bottom line". I'm all for nurses. I'm all for "saving lives". However, money is like a triage center. The reason people do "triage" is because you have limited resources (doctors, nurses, medicine, bandages training, etc...). Money is also limited. Getting UHC is not a magic wand where doctors and nurses suddenly are paid what they deserve, people suddenly get timely excellent quality care and everyone walks away with no debt. Folks this is all MUCH MUCH more sophisticated problem! Come on folks, there are trade offs here. You cannot give 330 million people "Free Healthcare" that is quality, and timely. Wanting a better system than we have now is GREAT! Wanting better outcomes for patients, and affordable treatments...also great! Taking the time to consider the magnitude of the problem, defining the EXACT problems, and then coming up with reasonable tradeoffs in solutions is the only way to handle this.
@Scar-jg4bn
@Scar-jg4bn Год назад
@@matthewTodd97 completely agree, and the discussion should start with the government using their (our) money that can easily subsidize a universal Healthcare system, especially if we actually tax the 0.01% fairly. We need reform in all areas of healthcare, including more spots for residency and safe nurse:patient ratios nationwide, not just in California.
@matthewTodd97
@matthewTodd97 Год назад
@@Scar-jg4bn Thank you for your candid and spelled out thoughts a bit. (Hard to do in this format. ;) ) Are you concerned at all that the government subsidizing something might incentivize the wrong things? The government will then be handing the medical system a blank check. If we all know that politicians are often corrupt, and we think that some businesses, and corporations are willing to rip us off, why do you seem to trust that they will use our money wisely? How do we ensure that they don't just waste a huge % of that money on needless administrative costs? Won't they need to ration care in some places? If the millions of Americans who are uninsured, can now get free basic healthcare, won't LOTS more people go to the Dr. for the common cold, and other things? Won't this exacerbate the patient/nurse ratio issues? I know I personally in my family and in my friends families have people once they reach their deductible say, "pshhh I'm just going to get X checked out. I've reached my deductible so now it's "free" anyways".
@Scar-jg4bn
@Scar-jg4bn Год назад
@@matthewTodd97 valid points, but points that completely ignore the massive amount of people who don't seek primary and preventative care, who then end up in acute care settings, costing much more money and resources than if they had access to basic healthcare in the first place. Regardless, we will always eat the bill; the question is if we want to improve quality of life and reduce unnecessary deaths due to poverty and lack of access to healthcare. There will always be corruption and people adding fees and skimming off the top no matter what under capitalism, that doesn't mean we throw in the towel and don't fight to disempower and regulate those parasites while using tax payer money in an ethical and productive way. Take note America, this is how conversations are supposed to be had. Note neither side defaulted to "you're a libtard" or "you're a trumptard". I forget who said it, but "we are more alike than you've been made to realize"

The division is not accidental. We have legalized unlimited campaign donations. Lobbyists own our politicians. However, the poor and average poor outnumber the rich. They use media to divide us and get us to vote against our own best interests. Divide, conquer, and then steal tax dollars. Then the rich move to another country and repeat.
