Anakin is always watching over her. But here he shows up to inspire Ahsoka and co that even though they are stranded, the force is with them. So is he. He is proud of his apprentice.. she is everything he hoped for and more for her to be. He's at peace, and is a happy master for his padawan finally taking on the role she was meant to..
@@dancingvalkyrieI guess you could pretend Ahsoka's entire character arc hasn't been tied to Anakin's. Member berries really doesn't apply there. Though it obviously does for other aspects of the show.
Its nice to see that Anakin gets some happiness after everything he did even if its after his death. He got to fix something he messed up at least. Yes I know he was evil for a long time but its still nice that he got to fix something he did wrong.
It's hard for me to feel a tremendous amount of sympathy for Anakin. Yeah sure he was played thoroughly by Palpatine, BUT Anakin's own hubris and strong attachment to Padme and thirst for power is what did him in. In the end, he might have realized the error of his ways but he wreaked death and destruction as Vader. I'm glad he found some peace in the end, but again...too much bad as it his hands. The way the sequel trilogy did Luke so dirty...now that brings tears.
@@KazunariNazuna In MY book, Redemption is earned and not something that any one deserves. Anakin did ONE right thing after turning to the dark side. He saved his son from the Emperor. That was his one last good act. He slaughtered so many including younglings. Killing the Emperor to save your own son is not earning redemption.
@@victorpradha9946your book is meaningless, this is why God/the force has been appointed to judge and redeem, you are a clown who wants to judge others and seek power. Hubris? I see Anakin in you more then you would like to believe, that's because we are all Anakin and no man is without sin. Clown, absolutely you missed the entire message of star wars.
@@victorpradha9946everyone deserves redemption, why? Because you are all sick, no man has ever been good and never will be. The worst things you see in others you yourself are very capable of doing. Lying to yourself and me about it won't change anything, the facts are there are many who overcome their evil nature through great effort, while people like you who are "born good", actually end up being the most cruel. In other words, you have no right to judge anyone and never will, seeing as how egotistical your comment was.
It’s a joy to see Hayden get the shine he deserves. Immediately the recognized the “It’s over now” score which gave me goosebumps. The cinematography was really good and one thing I wished happened was Hera and Ezra hug it out after being missing for years.
I think Hera is going through hell right now. Ezra came back with a stormtrooper armor after decade of being lost. That means Thrawn is back too. She is terrified.
I feel like Vader needs his own series. They can explore his days as both Anakin and Vader never before seen on live action. He was clearly a stand out for me in the series.
It’ll be pretty hard with their ages but a series on Obi wan and Anakin before ATOTC could be pretty good, and it could explore the bond between Obi-Wan and Anakin more as well as show a bit more of Palpatine’s slow grasp onto Anakin as well as Dooku’s rise to power.
@@salviohexia7348 what? the OT is about Luke the prequels are about Anakin becoming Vader but there's no movie or a show that's about Vader specifically
@@CRYSTAL_CUSTOMSnot everyone reads brother, I’ve checked out the comics myself but most people only check things out when its on the big screen ya know
Disagree. I would of loved Anakin with his children in force ghost form. But yes Rey was the problem and worse burying Anakin lightsaber on a place he had trauma as a slave and hated sand. They crapped on Anakin by forcing down their political agenda of Rey can identify as a Skywalker to be one and trying to pull she's the new chosen one. Urrrrr. There's only one chosen one and even Lucas himself says Anakin was the only chosen one
Did anybody notice the line “just shadows in the starlight” Perfectly describes Anakin and was hinting at his presence before we even saw him Anakin- good (as a Jedi up until his downfall to Vader) = starlight Vader - evil (up until his redemption) = shadows He is a mix of starlight and shadows
Seeing Anakin smiling like that is heartwarming. He must still feels a lot of pain and remorse due to his actions as Darth, but the good parts of his past (Ahsoka, Luke, Leia) can perhaps balance everything out. They are his redemption.
I didn't expect to be so teary-eyed. To see Anakin, after all the pain, finally at peace. It was very comforting. I feel like the fans needed this kind of closure with Anakin. Thank you Dave Filoni.
@@enji6989yeah but this feels why more impactful considering anakin skywalker Hayden was truly more natural here then reediting him into a scene we have seen a MILLION times just saying
It’s a type of peace for fans who came into Star Wars from a different medium than just the movies from the 70s. This scene is for those who grew up with Clone Wars.
"Over the years i made my share of difficult choices. Often no one understood my reasons. Except my master. He ALWAYS stood by me. Even when no one else did" And he still does, snips ❤
The fact that ts ends on a cliffhanger and we gotta wait a year or more to see what happens to thrawn or to see the senate’s reactions of thrawn’s return is a pretty valid complaint imo
Not gonna lie the music got me in the feelings but mainly because I grew up with the prequels and I wanted/expected this moment with anakin in the sequel trilogy but never got it
Imagine being Anakin the master of Ashoka who betrayed the Jedi order. But ultimately was redeemed by Luke his son. And returns again as Anakin as a force ghost after being Vader for years and years. Only for him to years later see Ashoka rewatching all of his recordings and continuing training. His smile here at the end is a smile of pride for his old padawan. Hints why he says. Just remember what I taught you trust your instincts I know you can do this Ashoka and he was right. Well done writers well done Dave thank you for all of this 😢❤ it’s beautiful 😔😢😭
@@HufflepuffBaseball42313 That's tough to do well even with lesser characters in an ensemble show. Ray's performance here ended up a fan favorite, it's going to be really tough to find the right recasting choice, and then for anyone else to fill that role.
@@vlonedc6589 Man, he just changed his outfit. He is a Ghost, he can present himself whatever he wants - Older, younger, black robes, white robes, etc.
If there's one thing that Star Wars teaches us, it's that no one stays stranded forever on a planet far from everything. Since Ezra knows where Sabine and Ahsoka are, maybe they'll be rescued sooner or later if it's not the Purrgils who save the day
@@ell3655 I might be wrong. But I think you can only get out the same way you got in. So it's useful to escape an otherwise impossible to escape situation. And I suppose you can also use it to gain Information about the past by viewing things that happened before. But you can't actually teleport or time travel with it. At least, that's how I understand it.
@@parley1994 but Ahsoka went into the wbw in that sith temple on Malachor (i think) and escaped and came out through the jedi temple on the other planer
@@FortniteBlaster2Honestly Ahsoka was one of the better Star Wars shows. It gave us post Rebels material, something people have been waiting for a while. Ahsoka's journey from not living and dwelling on the past was good(should have been more defined though). Introduced a NEW GALAXY into the SW Universe. Decent action(it's no prequels but it's alright). Sabine using the force wasn't as big an issue(this is coming from a BIG Rebels fan) because she wasn't a Mary-Sue straight away. She struggled the hold series and even had trouble getting Ezra to the Star Destroyer. Baylen was an interesting character and I'm curious how they are going to continue his character. Bring back Anakin Skywalker was perfect because he's redeemed himself to his apprentice. Knowing that this is leading to something has me more excited than busting out shows that have no point. Not saying it's perfect because it's not but it's MILES better than ALL 3 SEQUEL MOVIES.

Such an emotional scene, I always liked to think that anakin was not only watching over his kids but ahsoka as well and I'm so grateful to dave filoni for giving us these moment in the ahsoka series it really goes to show just how strong anakin ahsokas bond was that even in death he's still watching over and training his padawan
I was about to start balling at the end. This show was rocky in the beginning but turned out to be absolutely phenomenal. I’m so happy for Dave to see his character come to life like this.
@@pauldavis5665 Not for closure, for something similar to what he did for Ashoka in episode 5. Guidance , training, anything like that. It’s not such a crazy idea.
@@Chris.MendozaI think by this moment, Luke has more knowledge than Anakin, yeah, I know Luke tried to kill his nephew while sleeping, but like fans says.. that was not our Luke
when watching Clone Wars, it was always difficult for me to picture Anakin as the same character that was played by Hayden Christensen in the prequels, they were so different; but now that he’s back, his voice matured, he looks better than ever, he feels ripped out of the animated series and brought to life. We love you Hayden ❤
It's funny, in all his appearances in Ahsoka, I've felt like Hayden was trying to be closer to Clone Wars in his portrayal of Anakin. Particularly in the "flashback scenes" to the Clone Wars and the Siege of Mandalore, I feel like he was almost, but not quite, mimicking Matt Lanter's delivery, and I don't mean that at all in a bad way. The effect is absolutely wonderful; they both own the character now.
@@Wraithage79 exactly, that’s what happened to me, the tone and delivery in Matt’s VA felt so different from my preconceived notion of Anakin Skywalker, and I remember it was always jarring to imagine that the whole show happened between episodes II and III; he acts nothing like he did in Episode III. Now it feels like the same character
@@Wraithage79 They pretty much had him play a mix of both versions so it feels more natural that the movie and CW Anakins are the same character. The more mature voice could possibly be a coincidence since Hayden’s voice sounds much deeper than it was when he did the movies.
I gotta admit me seeing Anakin as a force ghost watching over Ashoka had me smiling and tearing up a little bit tho. This is an amazing scene and Anakin looks so well as a force ghost he looks like he's at great peace and I'm so proud of him 😎🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
It’s kinda cool when you consider Ashoka has the incarnation of the good side of the force and the chosen one looking over her. Ashoka really was born for greatness and this only makes the Tales of the Jedi episode about her birth more special.
Hayden's acting here is just so good and subtle in such a brief moment. You see the pain, the regret, but the relief that he managed to do something right after everything he did wrong as Vader.
The scene… the characters… the themes all great BUT THAT MUSIC!!! That big brass sound we all associate with Star Wars from the title crawl blending into those bittersweet chimes that remind us of the intimacy of the bond these two characters (and us by association) share. Just *chef’s kiss*. Thank you Kevin Kiner.
Oh god, this was perfection seeing Annie back at peace and smiling as he watches Asoka and crew. Wow you took my breath away in the music in the background. What a great thing.
Fue un hermoso final voy a extrañar mucho la serie de Ahsoka llore al ver al final a Anakin Skywalker él elegido volvió a traer el equilibrio a Star wars
Seeing Hayden as Anakin again just feels so amazing. He got alot of hate for the prequels so seeing him come back with all the love for a role he’s so perfect for is just awesome
It was cool seeing Anakin as a Force Ghost and this time, in the robes we know him so well for. The smile he gives at the end was truly heartwarming, as he truly got the peace he needed. Still gutted we never got to see Ahoska never call him "Skyguy". When she looks up, in my eyes, it's like she sensed he was near as she smiled and nodded. Would have been cool if she said something like "See you, Skyguy." or something. Gutted she never said the nickname as it was nice to hear Anakin call her "Snips."
I absolutely LOVED the finale. The show as a whole was great too. I had a Tanalor name-drop on my Wishlist, but I got everything else I wanted as a fan. I'll happily wait for what comes next!
After 20 years Hayden Christensen finally gets the recognition and applause he deserved. We have tears of joy because it’s like seeing an old friend you missed for a long time and brings us back to our childhood.
Two things I want to say: 1. Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang won’t be stranded forever. They’ll find a way back to help Ezra, Hera, Chopper, Jacen and the rest of the new republic defeat Thrawn. 2. I’m glad Anakin got to see Ahsoka and Sabine in peace. He is the chosen one and Ahsoka is his appearance/little sister who is filled with hope. I can’t wait to see season 2.
@@243Abolerz Oh yeah. You’re absolutely right. We could see Ezra and Chopper sneak in the chimera and find the information about where Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang are.
Well as Ahsoka said earlier in the episode, Anakin was the one always by her side and sided with her when others accused her of something. So only Anakin watching over her here made sense. But if we were to get Yoda and Obi Wan, the Obi Wan part would be difficult since you need Alec's Obi Wan version
That would have been blatant fan service that made no sense. Anakin was the one closest to Ahsoka, it makes a lot more sense for him to be the only one there in that scene.
I love this even though he turned to the dark side and was redeemed she always used his teachings. He is so proud of her I'm not ashamed it made my eyes water.
I mean he chose his path, but Vader is the mass murderer monster, not Anakin.. They are 2 completely different people.. "Anakin Skywalker was weak, I destroyed him" Btw following your logic Luke is also a mass murderer monster as how many ppl did he kill on the Death Star? Don't tell me only soldiers were on board.. what about the slaves that the empire used? What about the simple technicians who were forced to work for the empire? They were all killed by Luke
