Chanel later revealed that knee actually did not practice paul at all for this tournament, he havent even touched the char in a month or so. But he still pulled it out even though chanel adviced him to pick geese (he practiced geese, dvj and steve for this tournament). Huge respect to both players for an amazing grandfinals! Hyped game throughout
paul is a pretty braindead character to play. Dont feel he needs much practice. Specially when someone like knee has every character at the highest rank and pretty much probably do well with any character.
@@Anomaly188 its a terrible matchup for jax because paul has high damage already and basically jack only combos that basically allows him to do even more damage to the specific character over smaller ones. either way was a great match to watch but knee is just knee.
@@Anomaly188 its just knee's ability to play paul at his full potential. I have seen many paul or bryan(good matchup of jack) beaten to a pulp by anakin and saint using jack.
@@lif3l3ssgaming I could tell. That just frame wallsplat deathfist combo is straight bullshit. I don't even think counter hit unblockables do that much damage.
I seriously dont understand why people complain about his bryan not being showcased enough. Knee played 6 different characters at this level of competition. Are you not entertained? JimmyJTran still plays a great Bryan. Watch his games if you want a high level bryan.
24:56 that's why players like Jimmy are so popular. Everyone loves character loyalists. Everyone loves a man who has genuine love manifested in pure dedication for a character, representing him almost as his alter ego in a tournament. Jimmy IS Bryan. Anakin IS Jack-7. And that is awesome. I wish that was optimal and more efficient than countering. In a perfect world it would be.
So agreed when he said he misses Knee dealing with Bryan everytime. Although i didn't watched tekken6 or tag2 but the fact makes me feel so damn good just by imagining.
As a Bryan main I can agree with what your saying cause he doesnt have a scary 50/50 and doesn't have the 13 frame df1 to where you can keep the pressure going his is 15 frames and its not a bad df1 but is sluggish and your at -5 for one hit of machine gun punches anything after that -10 but if you do whole thing ending with 2 your at minus -15 and at high level play if you don't know how to move around really well and use while standing moves like side step hatchet kick side step instant while standing one like you have to get really creative with movement and side step options and know justframe taunt stuff and taunt pressure to be really effective and his punishment isn't to damaging until someone is -14 for the jet upper like 10f(1,4) 10f(2,3) 13f(df2,3) has nothing on Paul's b1,2 in comparison to damage for a punish which I believe is 12 frames correct me if im wrong
No way bro Jack is hard to play against a good Bryan because a good Bryan wont allow the Jack to df2 easily because Bryan can launch punish it every fucking time and if Jack is on the wall them he is more prone to the taunt setups.
7:05 I like it lol. Roast your chat TMM. I respect TMM but his chat is such cancer a lot of the times. Nevertheless, this match was so tight! I saw it live.
everyone is rooting for Anakin....who isn't ? ARUU the girl in the audience she was rooting for knee ....you could hear and see her cheering him on in the video
@@dudedude7998 i should've specified better. The rage drive debug. It would've won him a few more rounds if he had gone for them. But he's much more intelligent than I am when it comes to tekken so he probs had better reasons to hold onto rage.
@@grandpanoogie2665 Rage does give a buff to damage while active but Jack Rage Drive is a telegraphed low so he was probably afraid of the hopkick counter since he knew the second RD hit wouldn't save him in time.
Why is everyone upset about Knee being able to play different characters to counter the opponent? The man can play the whole cast at perfection, you can only admire the dude for his knowledge
When you already watched the game several times ‘cause of the amazingness, and here you are again watching it ‘cause TMM uploaded it with his reviews and reactions ✊🏽💯❤️ TMM got mad respect from Philippines 🇵🇭
I don't see anything wrong with knowing characters so you simply counter pick and using Bryan is a lot of work and knee did say in an interview that Bryan is hard to win with and to me in tekken 7 Bryan has so many bad match ups and execution has to on point and match up knowledge but even with that he is hard season 2 is more offensive and Bryan is a defensive character and he is slow so many 15 frame moves df1, f2, db1+2 and his best way to start offense is usually neutral 1 and his df2 is 13 frames but he is at to much minus after u block it and its safe but is lacking there compared to like other char 13 frame offense starters kazumi df1 , geese , Jack and the list goes on and punishment is only good at -14 other than that you have to take advantage of plus frames on your punishes and even though he beat rickstah with Bryan it was still close to prove my point but bryan still fun im still sticking with him and will just expand my character knowledge, match ups, punishment etc...
can you not see Jack is the most brain dead broken character at the highest level of tekken. Knee had to out play him twice dodging 1000 Jack Hammers and 1000 safe low pokes.
Anakin don't even relies on his timing. Instead his whole game plan was revolving around that dick jab. Knee picked Paul and punished that hard that's why he was able to pull that many low parries because Anakin didn't have much to offer other than lows.
20 years of tekken and I still don't understand why Paul has a punch that takes away all your life....2 decades of pretending this bullshit is totally fine
Paul's b+3 only works at tip range after a blocked df+2, which if it's a good jack player, never does that and anakin is arguably the best jack in the world.
Anakin wasted 3 lives on a wall stage. Where in that matchup he could have negated the whole use of pauls wall damage with a simple stage switch and would have definitely won. This TWT rule will changes the tide of who will win once it gets used correctly.
@@christopherbarbosa4326 TMM doesn't like me too much I see lol regardless if i'm right or wrong lol. Hopefully he isn't the same twat he is on the internet as he is in real life.
@@Zero67891 Good luck beating a player that is better than you when you don't take full advantage of the tools you have. Not that he can't beat him but Knee is better and its like a matter of percentages. Wouldn't you want the higher?
Anakin and jimmy J gotta be the best in USA. Followed by lil Majin then Joey fury. Hard to say who else would be up there, but let’s here it for rickstah making too 8! He’s for sure one of the best in the USA, this was a masters event after all and he lost to knee. That’s saying a lot considering it’s fukn knee.
The day that A Tekken tournament will have a final with two non-Korean players, it will be something memorable. Watch it, is going to happen at EVO 2019
It's maybe because I am from a moba background but I really like the idea of being able to play every character in Tekken and being able to counterpick in a fighting game.
Congratz to anakin regardless but i'm still pretty sure that if aris didn't jinxed it and anakin went straight into the final match instead of taking a little break walking around and picking another redbull, he would have won, he really dominating that tourney.
Rovi Dela Rosa both can launch on CH. With CH qcb 3 you can go straight into ws 3,2 but it can whiff on tip range. On close range it works always. With CH qcf 3 you need to do a iWS 3,2 for the launch. That needs some practice to be consistent with but it works on normal sized chars too. Im not sure about small chars though. Would need to check.
Paul is Knee's counterpick against Jack, but it's amazing that Knee was able to do this at Grand Finals because he had not played Paul at all in the week leading up to the tournament. And I'm glad Knee was able to make such a strong comeback. Anakin's a great player but I'm not a fan of him.
U can launch off of counter hit Qc3 with instant while standing 3 2 on male characters, idk about females, buts its rly hard, I constantly practice it but its so damn hard to do it online.
it seems to me that you are discrediting knee by saying anakin is fighting an uphill battle simply because of the matchup, and blatantly ignore the midset adaptation that knee made with his constantly KBD->ssl->low parry neutral negating anakins offensive poke heavy style.Give the GOAT some more credit bro.
@@gazclarke3618 nobody forces anakin to use Jack, he could choose any other character. So no uphill battles here, he's doing this to himself... knee is smarter
Uphill battle when he's got a massive advantage of being 2-0 as well as having a second chance being in winners bracket. Pretty sure Knee is the one fighting an uphill battle here lmao
Knee should get credit for being the only one winning seriously stacked tournaments with Paul. Also using 7 characters in one tournament......................Enough said
If Paul destroys Jack 7 and Knee pick Jack 7 why Annakin doeshnt pick another character i mean what kind of Tekken 7 are you,in my opinion big mistake of Annakin but for me it was a great tournament
