The Maxon AD-250 (which includes chorus and flange + delay) is the likely precursor to that excellent Ibanez you demoed. Early 80s, as you mentioned. Sony also made some excellent verbs for Ibanez, which are also worth looking out for.

Only just the other day, shopping in a supermarket, dairy section, I had the unfortunate experience of encountering someone speaking about 'yeaugurt'. Trouble with Mogue is it sounds too damn depressingly posh.
