I married a mummy's boy like CW years ago so I sort of know what he's thinking during this interview. Because when I questioned my ex about important things he would often say .." what's it got to do with you?" and " why do you ask so many questions?" So I think CW is thinking here....."why do you want to know how I killed them" " why does it matter what happened to THEM?" . All he wanted to talk about was HIS pain, HIS new girlfriend etc. He really doesn't understand why they want to know what happened to the 4 ' insignificant' people he threw away like trash. Even when he was in court he only started crying when HIS mother started talking.

Every time they talk about emotions or how much they love him or wanting him to fight... he gets uncomfortable and starts talking about the time running out on the call or whatever. I guess he knows they're judging him and he hates it like she says. I also dated a guy like this. Mostly because everyone thought I should because 'he was the nicest guy'... but damn... did he have a secret dark side. And he lied about any and everything no matter how much proof you had or no matter how insignificant the lie was. He was SUPER concerned w how others saw him & his good guy reputation. I will never, ever date a guy like that again. They are not just magically more calm than the rest of us... they just stuff their feelings down & harbor resentments to the point they feel justified in whatever they do to you... and they will do stuff to you... even if you're never aware of it. 'Accidents' will happen around these people. I've seen this repeatedly in this personally type. I prefer to see people's emotions and know what I'm dealing with. Never again for me.
Is crazy and scary to see someone like him gotten so "far" in life without been noticed for who he really is. Having a decent job, married with children. Is scary to think he could pulled that off for so many years. Makes me wonder how many people like that we are surrounded by. Sociopaths and plain evil people.
A lot more than most could or would want to believe. It's def scary. And being super nice is a huge red flag. I learned that the hard way. Most people aren't super bright and just go by the surface things they see. They don't look deeper or beyond the obvious. It's scary for real.

He may have a high level of mechanical intelligence and a good memory, but he is shockingly inept at communication. Women do tend to be more verbally sophisticated overall, but he sounds like Forrest Gump. I don't think it's intentional on his part.

He lied to the teacher and had her believe he went to China for the summer. He is working these people. He thinks he is the smartest in the room. He just goes with whatever the detectives say.
Yes and one of the police officers is smart enough to adapt his way of talking about the horrors to make CW feel more comfortable to share the truth. The officer says something about choking, pushing her into the seat - "that kinda thing". That's good police work to me. The officer could have also been concerned with sounding terrible himself but revealing the truth was the priority, like how it should be.
I think his severe inability to communicate is connected with his turning to murder. He had life problems that he had no capability to deal with, and couldn’t figure it out. He was overly agreeable and pliant, especially with women. He seemed unable to talk things through with his wife in a mature manner. He turns to violence, instead of approaching his problems. A stunted, distorted human being with terrible rage, and a “nice guy” persona on top of it.

So we hear almost a sobbing sound in his voice when CW is describing his murders of the girls. Given that he had NO EMPATHY WHATSOEVER for his children, this "sadness" is just a complete charade -- he's just pretending to feel sorrow. All he is showing us is how manipulative a sociopath really is. (I almost feel lucky that I am a widow in my sixties, with NO DESIRE AT ALL to have another "relationship"!) My children and I escaped a man just like him. Unlike Shannan I saw the warning signs and got out. After the way he treated her in NC in her own parents house, I would never have gone home with him, and certainly never left my children alone with him.
@Southern Gardener I am very sorry you have been through this. My sister was suddenly and shockingly widowed two years ago. Her man died of cancer 4 days after the diagnosis, before they even had time to absorb this terrible news. Before that she had been single for 20 years, having only known narcissistic abusers and sociopaths. It was a miracle, and even I couldn't believe it, that after all that time alone, she met a gem. In the hospital before he died, the nurses told my sister she was his everything. And she really was. She will never have another relationship, like me, who hasn't even dated for 20 years. Yet she is beautiful and funny and intelligent and men love her.........I feel for you. I hope you find peace and have good friends around you.

Lying again. The reason he put them in separate tanks was because if the level of the oil changed by putting two in one tank could cause an alarm to go off back at the company. He knew exactly what he was doing.

@Brexit Monger It's pumped in, usually by a tanker truck. I haul a reefer (refrigerated big rig) but we have a tanker division and I believe the oil is either pumped off from a truck and/or pumped off into a pipeline. He would have to put them in the top hatch. For him to have put them in the "thief hatch" which is on the bottom of the tank, the tanks would have to be drained first. Also, you are correct about putting them in separate tanks. That was to ensure the levels were almost similar and wouldn't alert Anadarko due to the different levels. My friend who drives for the oilfields told me that there are definitely monitors on those tanks for levels for safety reasons (OSHA) and would have sent a signal to Anadarko. I can't imagine what the workers had to go through pulling them out. They had to drain the tanks first. So tragic and sick!!!

Renee - after listening to bossy NK interviews with the police and her somewhat versed responses. I will never rule her out. Her telling them to leave Jim out of it, like she is running the show. She did not want to be johnny come lately. She didn’t want to bond with the girls. She wanted chris’s undivided attention, which serves the narcissistic mother role replacement which was his familiar. His adamant response about no way shannan or anyone went through the back of the house would make me wonder what part that backyard played in these murders.

It's simultaneously fascinating and sickening to hear this narcissist talk. He has such a complete lack of empathy for his victims. There's hardly a word about how he made them feel. This is all about him. I've always believed this was premeditated. His actions before and after point to him wanting to do this and wanting to get away with it. After the murders and disposal of the bodies he went to work (with his lunch) and by all accounts acted normally. There was no freakout, no suspicious behavior, no sign that he had just been through a 'traumatic' event. He had his mask on, big time, and he believed that if he played the part of the doting husband and father he would get away with it.
I can explain it WATTS ENJOYED torturing his family physically emotionally spiritually and drive them to despair so he could see how powerful he was in their eyes until death.....
He has no regrets. He lives this. I think that if he hadn’t been caught he would kill again and again because he loved the excitement and the thrill he got from it.
I don't believe this was his first time but, has anybody ever checked unsolved crimes in his area while he was growing up? Was things like this, what he was begging god for forgiveness? These were his kids, how many strangers has he practiced on? This isn't normal but, he started somewhere earlier on. After he confessed sitting there with ronnie he says out loud "god forgive me" but he never finishes and you can't help but wonder if this is what he did in his youth and they covered up?
Such sadness overcomes me. Thank you for honoring the victims in this way. Sounds like his wife and children were lovely people. He didn't deserve so much kindness in his life. He destroyed beauty.

Even though it hurts im so glad she talked about what the girls went through, i havnt heard one you tuber talk about the girls really and thats what truly matters. And the fact he had no remorse!
The autopsy showed that both girls were smothered by a bare hand, not any fabric. Also, the kids blankies were not found anywhere at the site (he claimed they and the kids toys blew away in the wind up on the walkway), but in the police cam videos on the first and second day of the search we can see a blue Yankees blanket on the black sofa in the loft, and another like it in the corner of the main bedroom, where he had pulled all the bedding off. But Cece's blanket was a soft fluffy pink and white one her grandmother Sandy had given her. It was found in the big wheelie bin in the garage, along with dolls, toys, a sippee cup etc (which police filmed and photographed but did not remove for testing......in the next days police cam we see it out by the kerb for the garbage men......cops walked right by it numerous times. Then it was emptied and all that evidence lost......and there was another folded pink and white blankie in Shannans office.........on her desk. So what blankies did he take out to the site to smother them with? It never happened.....

When they found Ottis Tooles car, they found the imprint of 6 year old Adam Walshe's face in the carpet, and it showed the agony of his death throes. The investigators were shocked and sickened. O'Toole confessed some time after the crime but died before they could charge him.

I love word games and trivial pursuit - and reading, an absolute obsession - especially true crime, forensics and FBI profilers work. John Douglas, FBI profiler, has a YT channel. It's utterly fascinating. In one of his books is the quote "Beware of looking into the abyss, for it also looks into you". FBI profilers look into the abyss and often burn out young........
@Juanita Richards there were no fibres found in the girls' lungs but this apparently did not mean they couldn't have been smothered by a blanket. There aren't always fibres left in people's bodies when they are smothered. The blanket he claims to have used was blue and was not the one left in the garage or in the house. He dumped some of his clothes on the way home so I wonder if he may have dumped it off with them.
Absolutely premeditated. As you said he planned to go home after work and clean up. I have followed true crime stories all of my life. This case and CW actually upsets my stomach. Chris Watts: “I don’t know if I said ‘yes’ like a horrible person...” I think he said more than ‘yes.’ I think he may have taunted Bella about what he did to Cece and their mother, and teased her about what he was going to do to her. To me there’s virtually no doubt he psychologically tortured her before callously and cowardly snuffing out her life. And I agree that his reason for doing this was in retribution for the slight that Bella’s genuine virtues inflicted upon him (likewise Shanann and Cece). This narcissistic nitwit managed to play the nice guy for most of his life, but to me it’s obvious from the family’s uploaded video archives, that he was just mimicking the ‘nice guy’ behaviours he’d observed in others. There was no feeling of genuine pathos in those videos, and there’s no feeling of genuine remorse in his confession, despite its heinous, brutal, and cowardly nature. I have to say that Shanann’s parents are much better people than myself because I wouldn’t have flinched in seeking the death penalty on this monster.
Ryan Capper I agree, I don’t think Bella calmly stated, no daddy. She had to have been screaming in terror. Then I think he smacked her in the head a couple of times. The autopsy on Bella stated she had abrasions on her face. My daddy is a ZERO.

The moment on the Netflix doc when CeCe says "I love school " when Shanann says its time to go to school is heartbreaking. The fact the monster disenrolled them and didn't give a shit, makes it even more poignant.
I definitely believe one child or both were alive, in that truck, and he very possibly is telling the truth about the sequence of events. I also feel very strongly this was all premeditated no matter which way it actually played out. However, I do believe there is one thing in his twisted mind, that would be worse for him to admit than what he says he did, which is that he planned to do this crime at least a few days ahead of time. He very desperately wants everyone to believe he was provoked and went into a rage, was not in complete control/he was brainwashed or manipulated into this horrible act. Because, he “is not that person”.. and all he cares about is what people think of him. He wrongly believes the story he tells is a convincing one for uncontrollable rage. If he admits to killing one or both children before Shanann got home, there goes his uncontrollable rage/not in his right mind defense.. as to why this was just a mere blip on the screen of his miserable perfect life. This scenario he tells means he can pick up the Bible and go back to PRETENDING to be Mr. Nice Guy!
Exactly! And he had help. The grave was dug prior to the murder (it would have taken hours to dig the grave by hand) and he planned to go back to their house and gather up her things and the car and then drive it out to the site and cause an explosion to cover it up. He would have claimed that Shannan drove out there with the girls to try to find him and they were caught up in an accident (similar to the previous Anandarko explosion). He and NK planned it and knew to put each child in different tanks so that the monitors and levels would not register. There would have been no evidence. I feel that Jim and NK were accomplices. CW is too weak of a person to do all of this himself.

I believe Bella saw or heard Cece being killed, but at home. I believe she ran and tried to hide under her bed and was dragged out.......the trauma dog alerted hysterically there. The dog handler knew and said that something had happened there.......

@HONEY MOO MOO These dogs are trained not to bark for no reason. Some of them alert silently. I saw some in training on a video and the blood dog could find blood on a rag in all sorts of obscure places, indoors and out. He did not bark but put his nose in the spot and stood absolutely still. The cadaver dog did bark, and it never barked any other time except when scenting cadaver smell, and they used human tissue for this.

I believe he came up with that story so that it wouldn't look premeditated. Those babies would have been running around outside screaming and crying trying to wake up their mommy. I think he came up with the story on the spot and didn't realize how gruesome it would sound to the rest of the world because he has no feelings. He would not have taken the risk of them acting out while he was moving shanann body. I love your analysis though
I dont know about what else you were saying but the kids would not have been running around screaming, those are there parents they would be cowering and scared and they would be sitting still!
Trace- I think children know when a situation is serious and out-of-the-ordinary. My opinion is that the girls would have been very scared and confused, quiet and contemplating...they would have had every routine in their little lives broken and shattered that morning. I think they would have behaved, as all humans have a built in sense of self-preservation no matter how young we are. But, of course, only Chris knows what God-awful happenings occurred during that morning, pre-dawn. 😞

If you consider that he was able to kill them with his bare hands, then you also have to be able to consider that he was in a position to say or do whatever he needed to do to get them to "sit down and shut up". (I'm only saying that to make the point, not to be disrespectful towards the girls.) The idea that they generally ran around screaming, looking for snacks, whining, etc. is not what was happening that morning. Chris had every bit of control, and Shanann was wrapped in a sheet at their feet. This wasn't just a ride to daycare where they might "act out". A loud voice that meant business (one they likely never heard before) is about all it would take.
Even at her young age, you can see how he was parentifying Bella and placing all his emotional responsibilities on her shoulders, making her far more mature than her years. He knew she was aware and caring, and he hated her for all that made her special, and how inadequate he was in comparison. and he had to destroy her. Those song lyrics say it all.
Just have to say....How wonderful and refreshing it is to listen to someone who really knows their stuff. I have great admiration for the fact that you do not rely on the use of props, expensive hair-dos, face make-overs etc., as do many others discussing CW subject. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but another aspect of the channel that I'm drawn to is the extremely noticeable absence of drama regarding the "guilt" of Nichole Kessinger, and the 101 ways she "created, designed, executed and covered up for" the work of this family annihilator. In other words, this was the place you could talk and learn about the case without having to be force fed all the theories and speculation that so aggressively monopolize specific channels. I know you've done a few videos about her, in terms of how she relates to CW, but your videos typically don't even mention her name, let alone push the narrative of her involvement. Do you have any idea how hard that is to find on youtube? I'm completely aware that the comment section is open for people to speak their opinion. I guess I'm just saying there are fewer and fewer places to be able to talk about CW without having to wade through the drama that eventually gets dragged up behind it. Well said! Chris Watts murdered his family, he's a big guy & easily did it. If his mistress was there, helped him etc, LE wud have arrested her! It's crazy that ppl get hysterical - the killer Chris Watts is where he shd be, 4ever. I hate the mistress, she chased a married guy & tried 2 steal his wife's life. But a killer is pushig it - & lets CW get away with it, he deserves ALL the blame.
Kudos to the interviewers for being able to have that conversation without displaying any sort of judgment. Every time I think about Bella’s last words I’m brought to tears. Even when she knew what her father was going to do to her she still called him daddy. It’s so horrific.

I highly respect your opinion and totally agree with you about him not wanting to make himself look worse. And because of this and it's only IMO I do believe he heard of the theatrical shadows version via his family and went with it. After much thought and going through the details in the discovery I believe that in his warped mind he somehow thinks this will make him look better than the actual truth. The premeditation and the murders are most likely more horrific than any of us can even imagine.
I agree with you. I think he killed the babies before SW was even back in Colorado. He told this version and made sure it was extra horrific to convince people he could not possibly be lying because it makes him look so bad. But you have to ask yourself, what would make him look worse than this latest story? If he killed Bella and CeCe without SW being there to trigger him into some uncontrollable rage. It would prove premeditation and that he killed them all unprovoked. I think if he had not already killed the girls; when he found out SW was going to be 3 hrs late, he would have postponed the murders. He couldn't because he was at the point of no return. SW had to be killed right when she came home.

Gratitude for this podcast. For me it clarified every grey area I had and and answered every question that I still pondered and allows me to see Chris Watts for exactly what and who he is. This makes it easy for me to finally let it go.... No more questions...no more pondering so...no more need to give myself creative & bizarre excuses for his behaviour....it is exactly what it is.... Again gratitude...I just had the hardest time accepting the reality that there ARE people like Chris Watts...period and end of story.

It baffles me how he can sit there and just let it roll off his tongue with 0 emotion. What he did is one of the worst things we’ve ever seen. It’s heartbreaking. I know he has no feelings. My heart hurts to know the fear and confusion Bella felt. He is a dark, weird man.

Notice how the detectives sneak in a question about whether he contacted Nicole right after the murders? They are really digging to discover if she was somehow involved. I think that is what this entire interview was REALLY about. If she somehow was involved, I hope they nail her, even if it takes 15 years.

It's a shame Bella didn't get out the car and run and hide when Chris disposed her sister in the tank. That may have been futile, but a slim chance. But she ultimately trusted daddy even after what she had witnessed with her mum and sister. But the poor girl was no doubt traumatised and in freeze mode. Such a tragedy. Poor thing.
I was just thinking earlier today about his claiming to not be sure if he said “yes” to Bella’s question. I feel certain if very little regarding his story, but I think we all know that he definitely did speak the word “yes”, if he didn’t say even more to threaten and intimidate her.

Blooming Accents Right- if nothing else, even if she didn’t understand that Shanann was dead, she would’ve been inconsolable that her mother wasn’t acknowledging her because she’d been SO anxious to exchange affections, not having seen her for a period. Also incredibly tragic that mother and daughters were already missing each other when robbed of the chance to ever share hugs and kisses again. Listen to the way he says, “Like her lips were missing or something?”, as if he’s pondering what he might have done wrong re-heating a burrito.
I think you should reach out to Frankie R. I am concerned he has been propelled into an ocean of online and in-person personalities, and sadly many are dark or have dark motives. I watched him comfort his father at court, saw his kindness and love for his family, and for Chris despite everything. Watching Frankie sit there taking it all in, reminded me of times where something is just so big, I feel numb, observing, absorbing everything in, running, mulling everything over in my mind, trying to make sense of it all. But, how can you make sense of something so senseless. If you feel you could offer him some advice, insight or comfort , real friendship, please consider reaching out. Oh my word.. It is so hard to listen to this monster, and picture in my mind, what those sweet little girls were thinking. I can not even begin to know how horrified ,esp. Bella, would have been.Poor little Cecee was smaller, younger, and not as aware of what was happening. But, Bella !! Oh my goodness! Your analysis is by far the best one can find on RU-vid. I know it may be selfish of me and inconsiderate of the time required to edit and publish the videos to say you shouldn’t wait too far between videos, but my suggestion stems from the fact that too much time passes between them and they feel disconnected. Also, the time between vids allows us the viewers to detach from the horror this story is; almost purposely detach because of the hideous reality this man imposed on these beautiful humans. How Shannan never saw through CW is simply mind boggling!! She was so intelligent, hardworking and focused and yet never really knew this guy whom she loved so much. I guess he put on the good guy act but I wonder if she ever felt that he was faking emotions. And poor little Bella, her suffering is beyond imagination. Just imagining this little girl who loved and trusted her dad so much and then to actually witness him kill her baby sister and then to be killed by this heartless monster is so heartbreaking.
I've often wondered about this as well. We tend to put victims on a pedestal; have we done that a bit with Shanann? Was she totally blind to the kind of person he really was, or did she know? It's obvious she was very intelligent and would have picked up on the gruesome side of his character at SOME point. My guess is that she knew he was slow and unemotional but didn't care much as long as he was a good provider. They just seemed SO incredibly mismatched - she was vibrant and outgoing, and he was a loner, hanging back, awkward. He probably embarrassed her a lot.

Forgive me but I had to watch this in two halves. It was just too hard to hear and I had to have a half hour pause before I could hear the rest. As an artist I have a very visual imagination and I kept visualising those poor children sat in that truck out in the wilderness all in the dark. As you say, it is almost impossible to imagine the fear they must have felt, especially Bella. Just horrendous. It's almost as though I can't accept it really happened it seems so beyond understanding. Your analysis helps but I must admit I just can't get to grips with Watts losing his identity. I mean, when you say: "Whatever Chris Watts was as a child has gone" That I find that very interesting as well as very chilling. How can someone lose their empathy so much that they could kill their own daughters?
Crypto-yes, me too. I had to pause Chris's confession multiple times and listen over the course of a few days because I found myself overwhelmed with grief...and I bet many others did the same thing. That's what is so crazy about our world-some people are so kind and empathetic and some feel very little.
I could not wait to hear his confession so I played it all the way through while doing other chores around the house that day but I felt sick for the next few days... I didn’t connect the two events but I’m sure listening to him affected me physically.

When I first listened I made a comment that he actually came across as likeable, and I stress, if you didn't actually know what he'd done. But I think the more you listen, the more your actually hear and the more calculating he becomes.
@Mary Smith: I completely agree with you Mary. Empathy is surely one of the main qualities that makes us human. I really can not imagine what it must be like to be someone like Watts. I mean, if they have no real feelings the perhaps they are like a kind of living dead?

There must me much more to Chris Watts to become this monster. There must be clues in his past history of brewing Narcissistic behaviour. Has the whole of his married life been a lie. Your analysis is so very interesting.
Watts only came up with that story after hearing about the shadows videos and so "just ran with it".......as we have seen him do before. He subtly challenged the agents by asking "didn't you see the video"? He never answered a straight question with a straight answer. He had an agenda for everything he said. He was trying to hide how premeditated the murders were and the involvement of an accomplice. It would have taken him 2 hours to dig Shananns grave and he did not have time on that morning - it was pre-dug over the weekend. I will always believe the children were killed hours before Shannan arrived home.......Shananns borther and father have seen footage we haven't (although I have an unmasked video of what they saw and identified the bodies from.......and it was edited for public consumption). It shows him taking one child out in a garbage bag......."I saw what you did. You took them out like trash. Video doesn't lie". Thats what Frank Senior said at sentencing. There are many other reasons to believe Watts did not leave Shannans body lying out in the open for any length of time. All sorts of people turn up at that site unexpectedly, including the water truck driver, local cattle farmers looking for lost cattle.........None of his story rings true.
The only problem with your theory is that if he killed the kids at home and Shanann's flight delay 'could' have allowed rigour mortis to set in. at the point of putting the kids into the oil tank would be near impossible with stiff bodies.
@@BillyNoMates1974 Rigor mortis has many variables. And once it wears off the bodies are pliable again - for a few hours. And it's even possible the babies were driven out there and put in the tanks before Shannan came home . He could not take his truck out there so may have taken them in the Lexus.
Not possible imho. S. was in her sleeping shirt. She first was looking for her sleeping girls as every mother does coming home. Kids were alive at this moment.

Technically speaking she may not have said to Chris 'go kill them all' but she could have said 'i will always be second best to your wife and kids' and that would have been game on in CW's warped mind to obliterate his family.
I believe he killed them during the long period of time Shannan was trying to phone him to let him know her flight had been delayed by over 2 hours. He did not answer his phone......later he texted her and explained he had missed her calls because he fell asleep on the couch this man we are told went crazy from lack of sleep due to duo burn patches. But he had no trouble sleeping in NC and ignoring Shannan while she was up all night vomiting. And she asked him in a text "How can you sleep when our marriage is falling apart and I ahve been awake crying for a week"?
@@st6576 It would make sense if what he really did was far worse, as many clever investigators believe. "When a narcissist admits to wrong doing, you can be sure the truth is far worse". Many now believe the babies were dead in the house and he and his accomplice showed her the bodies and told her that she was going to die too. She would have collapsed in shock before having a chance to react. He was sadistic enough to do such a thing, and he hated Shannan and wanted to hurt and degrade her as much as possible. Why did he record the fridge temperature? So many red flags that show he is hiding something much worse than anything he has confessed to so far.

That was very sweet when you said that an empathetic person could not stop imagining the possibility of injuries to the victims, in this case Bella. Chris seems so disconnected, a dolt. He either doesn’t want to know the details or didn’t care.
Watts was the big Metallica fan, he has a Metallica tattoo and we saw him at a Metallica concert. He could easily have explained the lyrics to NK without having to look them up. This was their celebration, mission accomplished song, and the photos of the sunflowers he texted her from the site. Lots of symbolism - like the big dead doll pic he sent to Shannan just 2 days before he killed them all. Secret codes, burner phones, deleting texts and google searches - which NK ORDERED him to do, not asked, ordered. And her friends as well, ordered to delete everything to do with her off all their social media and phones.
@@sallyire1 He has done nothing but cover for her thus he took the plea deal. She wouldn't last 5 minutes on the stand under cross examination in front of a jury. And somewhere in his warped mind he thought he would be free again one day to be with her. He threw screaming tantrums in the DAs office as he did not want to take the plea deal. He was hoping to get manslaughter and use provocation as a defense. But I am sure his court appointed lawyers told him he had no chance and to take the plea deal. I have just heard, but can't confirm, that NK is engaged to somebody else already and that Watts knows it. It was on a channel I saw last night where the lady had read the transcript of the recent prison interviews - some of which is missing from the recordings we heard. Watts read the info - her name was blacked out but they all knew who it meant. If thats the case he may not protect her for much longer. He kept slipping in his interview, "we", who is "we"?

From what I recall, during the interview they asked him how he was doing. He replied that where he is now is much better than the prison he was initially in. He mentioned that other prisoners were shouting at him and telling him to kill himself. He also mentioned that he would eventually be going into general population. I found myself wondering if in a way His description of what he did with the girls, horrific as it was, was in his way making sure he gets to stay in protective custody. How could they put Him into general population after what he described? Although his confession sounds horrific, does it in a way give him protection from general population?
Yes, that makes sense - he's only thinking for himself and what would be best for HIM, after all - so he doesn't mind being seen as the monster he is as long as it gives him a smooth, steady ride in prison. What a POS.
That makes sense, your TV analogy. It is otherwise hard to put together the vids and photos of him with the kids, being silly with them, being seemingly so loving of them with his throwing them out. Is it credible that "the kids walked around the house" calmly while he loaded their dead mother in the truck - and his lunch? Kids want food and drink and toilet and nappy change as soon as they wake up - especially a 3 year old. They won't brook excuses or being put off. He could not take the risk of either of them running out onto the driveway in front of Nates cam, or screaming and crying where neighbors could hear, look out their windows and see this trauma and chaos going on.
When kids are with there parents and the parents are acting out towards eachother kids cower and are scared and believe me they sit still. That is a fact. They dont ask for snacks and they dont run around. I dont understand why anyone wouldnt know that

These are kids who cried hysterically when their mother was out of their sight - as he himself had said. They cried on the trip home in the car the only time he picked them up from school. They cried at the airport with their grandfather when Shannan was out of sight for a few minutes and they cried even at the grandparents house while they were inside and Shannan was outside talking on her phone. Frankie said to Chris "What are you? Chopped liver"? Chris replied "I know right"? Nobody can convince me Watts took the risk of letting those children walk around the house and then calmly went to the driveway and calmly got in the truck - he does''t mention lifting them in there......... I do not believe Bella sat in the truck alone after watching her sister murdered and her body taken up to the walkway and did not try to get out of the truck and run, or scream and cry.
Juanita, love and respect your opinions on this case. I respectfully disagree that the girls would be running around asking their dad for things. Kids are very intuitive... They I knew something was very different on this particular morning and were most likely scared, confused and contemplating what was going on. When a parent is upset or mad/stern (as Chris was that morning) I think they likely were quiet and obeyed. No matter how small and Tiny we are, we all have self-preservation first and foremost built into us through genetics.

I agree with mostly everything you said. I believe 100% that he was feeding off the girls fear as he was driving to the site and them not knowing what was going on. I think for once in his life, he felt free and powerful and his chains broke. And as far as the girls and what they said or did, I go back and forth on that part.Yes, it's not in his best interest to lie about it but on some level I have to believe he COULD have made it up with the intention of further hurting the family.
As sick as it sounds I think the “empathy” he did show his girls was smothering then before jamming them down the oil drum. I hope he did at least do that and not drop them in there alive 😣

I love your insight on this case. That song by Metallica is about what he had done to his family. I recall another case, Justin Barber who murdered his wife on the beach after listening to the song "I use to love her but I had to kill her." by Guns and roses. I also believe he took the children out of that house alive. He knew exactly what he was doing.
He’s so calm re telling the story… he tries so hard to act concerned but as soon as he’s done telling them how he murdered his kids if they were to ask him what his favorite color is. He would just be as joyful as ever. I can’t wrap my brain around that.
I think he was most jealous of Celeste because she was so ebullient, so full of the life spark that he lacked. And everyone seem to dote on her the most.

I think poor Bella would have been crying and VERY upset. She would have likely seen him drag Shanann's body down the stairs in a sheet! He said the sound of her body thumping down the stairs is what woke Celeste, who probably also saw the same thing!! This is beyond horror.
What happened to Bella is the overriding aspect of this horrific case that haunts me the most. She must have been absolutely terrified and confused beyond measure. Bella was the more sensitive of his two daughters and I cannot imagine how a little girl can begin to process the trauma of her “hero” Daddy destroying her entire family. This went beyond getting rid of his wife and kids to start a new life, this was personal, cruel and sadistic. A senseless and cowardly act that speaks to how evil Chris Watts is. To delight in torturing and murdering three women who worshipped him, along with his unborn son is absolutely unspeakable. He deserves to be kept in solitary confinement for the rest of his wasted life and he should rot in hell!
Good analysis. Things that Chris failed to take into consideration to get away with it. Shanann's flight being delayed - could have caused problems if the kids were already deceased. He didn't know Shanann's unlock code on her phone. Nickole Atkinson did (baby Niko due date) - I think he planned to offset everyone posing as Shanann in text messages.. Nickole Atkinson being such a good friend and very quickly figuring things were not correct. Doctors appointment being 10am and being skipped. The Colorado police applying full resources so quickly and then assigning the correct police approach to coax the information out of him. The cervi 319 site not being cleared up was something to come back to at a later time and clear up (after taking the spotlight off himself by posing as Shanann on her phone).
Don't you think if that was the big plan he would have made sure he knew the unlock code by asking her/forcing her before killing her? All the rest seems spot on
@@fuzzyfoods710 I suspect he knew 'a code' but Nickole Atkinson said Shanann changed it recently. After all she had at least a few weeks to change it when CW was treating her badly and she suspected something was wrong. Also the fact that he removed his FB account a couple of weeks before the event actually put him at a disadvantage in terms of her social media life (times of posting and how frequent). thus I bet he wasn't aware of the doctors appointment and possibly forgot how frequent Shanann posted at regular times.
