Thanks so much Robert, you help me and others a lot, can you please help me how can I pick MOV if my input is 3 phase 220vac and output is resistive load 45 vdc 10 kw the input capacitance is 470uf so how can I calculate my MOV? Also the size of the thermistor which I use it for precharge capacitors (soft start) and I short it after ms with relay, what is the minimum power for this thermistor?

Hey Mr. Bolanos, I=Cdv/dt yields c=400uF ....Could you please clarify.

Thanks so much Mr. Bolanos, They are very helpful. What is simulation software used in these videos to simulate power electronics circuits?

Hi Vadood,The simulation software is TopSPICE by Penzar Development. I highly recommend the software. There is a demo version and the full version cost about 599 dollars which is generally affordable. You can also use the LTPSPICE which is free. However, I prefer to use TopSPICE because the huge library of spice model which is about 30000 parts. Hope this helps.RB

Hi dear Mr. Bolanos. Thank you very much for responding very soon, and also for the full explanation. You are awesome ... I try to use the demo version to get familiar with it. I have two more questions that I like very much to know your opinion: I. Which software is best in your mind to simulate power supply circuits? (Which one do you use yourself?) II. I wanna work on the circuit with the following specifications Input: 220 V ~ Output a: 6.5 Vdc, 0.8A Output b: 2500 Vdc, 300mA Output c: 200~1500Vdc, ≤1mA Output d: 6500 Vdc, =~0mA Regarding the above specifications; What would be better to use for any output, in your mind, in order to get an industrial circuit with the low weight and size?

Hi Vadood, these are very high voltages and I would recommend that you use a resonant flyback converter and only design for an output voltage of about 500V and then use a voltage multiplier to get to the 2500V and the 6500V that you are looking for. These are complicated to design but they can be design. What is the application that you need to use these high voltage power supply. You can email me at rbola35618@aol.com

is the turn ratio N2/N1=4?
@RobertBolanos
@RobertBolanos Год назад
In spice it is easier to express the turn ratio as Nsecondary/Nprimary. So in this case, 12/24 or so about 0.5. Therefore, .param Nr=0.5
