In this video, we analyze a fugue composed by Frederic Chopin sometime in the early 1840s. This fugue demonstrates several solutions for solving the common problems of composing a two-voice instrumental fugue, including compound melody and implied harmony, and a countersubject invertible at the octave that needs to fit with a tonal answer.
