The amount of tech that Daigo has pioneered in SFV is really crazy. His problem solving and ability to innovate is really what makes him unique amongst even the very best players.
This analysis revealed things that made that play 100 times more impressive. I didnt realize he micro walked back on each and how doing it too much or too little would screw it up
@@thoughtotherwise wow still that is actually just as impressive. Considering his age, where most retire from tournaments. Being able to beat many young pros speaks volumes.
@@lorenexus4917 For sure. And even though he's not taking home a lot of major tournaments these days, most (if not all) Japanese competitors still view Daigo as a very strong opponent that they'll train hard for, in order to try and beat him. He's been consistently a threat that always has a good shot at reaching grand finals.
@@thoughtotherwise He has probably won the most tournaments of any Japanese player since 2020, playing a fireball character in a game where the best characters have anti fireball moves
daigos guile at start of sf 5 wasnt that good. People told him change characters and go back to ryu he wont win. Eventually now he is the best guile doing stuff no one else does. He did the same with E ryu and ryu back in sf 4. Started slow, but slowly grew to a level no one else achieves
Absolute insanity. He is using microwalks to counter the counter to his own previous counter of aegis pressure. And he is doing so while also building chip required to finish the game.
Question though, why couldn't Urien just hit Guile and get a combo while Guile was being hit by the aegis? Couldn't Urien just counterplay this by throwing out a button or a special as Guile gets hit by the aegis?
The sweep hits urien first before the aegis connects, daigo recovers faster than urien's blockstun, if he tried to attack afterwards, he will eat the next sweep instead, which is worse than blocking it
I felt this analysis was incomplete. At a certain point if you're walking back far enough you're no longer keeping your frame advantage, you can't walk forever. Why not go over exactly how plus the trade with knee situation is to know if it's possible how small of a window do you have to walk back, get the right spacing, and still be plus or at least neutral.
As someone who doesn't play SFV, that already looked impressive, but in a human kind of way, but now that I saw Is analyzis, I understand how much more impressive it was, man the guy surely is a God.
@@lambchop58 Kind of like activating V trigger, but with more mobility, costs super meter, and can be activated off of most neutral offensive actions. Used as a way to extend combos or give some frame advantage in a sticky situation.
You mean to tell me that Daigo pulled off a series of near frame perfect inputs to counter his opponents move and finished with a super? Man, that’s seems familiar…
Dude punk has 0 offline EVO titles. the best he has is E=league win, where all EU players are conveniently placed in 1 group so they they will kill each other.mrcrimson eat punk for breakfast. lol
It's only useful if they are low health, if the opponent has 1/3 health it can be a waste of super, plus this match up is already a bad match for Urien
Thats not all true. Moat Urien players can beat people without Aegis Reflector combos. A lot of time ....just want people to get them into meter position to go for flashy aegis tricks. Aegus Reflector damage scaling nulls as goes so doing 800 tricks is pointless unless you can do all resets without a drop and the chances of the opponent whiffing so you can punish it back into the combo works out . Most players hate aegis cause they dont know how to deal with it and want to pressure instead of think of ways to not get caught in it. What Daigo did isnt new nor a viable tech unless for the exact example its shown....daigo had the upper hand and ryusei only a pixel of health where that CA would do him in cause of chip kill . Desk did this awhile back showing Aegis hiccups that he could do and could be done.
@@ShouVertica crutch tool? Nahhhh its not . its like any tool in the game....its there if you need it and there if you wanna use it. You can sacrifice v gauge for aegis activation and do V reversals or V shift. So its options besides Aegis but if one complains about Aegis then might as well complain bout V triggers and CAs and so on tech from every SF game ever made. Lol . Now is it true some players rely on it for a guaranteed victory? Maybe just like some rely on Guiles Vts for wins if they can get it. Aegis isnt a dead on win for activating it.... You got to put in work to try and get it.
Why doesn't urien just do something instead of blocking the whole time? I mean dude literally just look like he's getting paid by daigo to create RU-vid content.
This is a fkin tournament kid no one will throw this chance for anyone and the guy who is against daigo is ryusei one of the best urien player in whole japan..
@@Breeze06 Haters are like that only they think daigo cant do anything other than throwing sonic booms and when he does something insane then they close there eyes and ignore it..Hipocracy..🤦♂️
@@theanimeguy6036 What's crazy to me, is that even if all Daigo did was throw projectiles, haters willfully delude themselves into thinking they can outmaneuver his fireball game.
