One reason the catholic church didn't purchase the Nauvoo temple was because there was cause to question whether or not Brigham had the right to sell it in the first place. It was never finished, or dedicated as required. If it had, God's pattern of accepting it would have been repeated (Kirtland).

True. They worked on it for at least another year and it still wasn't complete. It likely had a lot of work left on it.

Before Joseph's death, he spoke of Elijah's visit as being yet future to fulfill that promise.

Yes, he always spoke of Elijah as a future event. I spoke about that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QSpxODBbZHU.html

I think there’s an interesting comparison you can make between Solomons temple and Ezekiel’s temple, and the kirtland and nauvoo temples. The story of the latter day temples truly feel like a condensed version of these. Gods spirit descended upon Solomons temple, and signs and spiritual gifts were given showing divine acceptance of it. However when the Jews were cast off into Babylon, the temple was destroyed. Only 60 years after the destruction of the temple, construction began on the second temple, and gods people were excited, however when it was completed, those old enough to remember the original temple and the glory god surrounded it with were left extremely disappointed that the second temple didn’t live up. At the same time the temple was being built, in the books of Ezekiel there are numerous stories of the people, including even the prophet Ezekiel, focusing their efforts and attention on things that were ultimately meaningless. I think this mirrors nauvoo perfectly. Those who remembered what happened in kirtland were certainly disappointed when it wasn’t repeated in nauvoo, and the churches efforts were most definitely not where they should have been during that time.

That is a really good comparison. I think the LDS people are very similar to Israel as you mentioned. History is repeating in many ways. With the times of the gentiles finishing then the gospel is going to go back to israel and that will be a repeat again, but in the opposite direction. I would love to see all the works of God at a high level. I would imagine it would look like a smooth continuous flow from one state to another.

Russell M. Nelson is an amazing example of good health and mental ability for being 99 y/o. I like how you keep your journey Christ-centric and pursue truth.

Russel took out covenants with satan when he was a bones man at Yale. There is no way he was prepared for this calling by the Lord. This was pure luck of being in the right place and having certain influence socially. I don’t think any of them are raised up by the Lord. Definitely not this guy. He has a lot of blood on his hands after the jib jib jab. I cannot even imagine him being remotely inspired, especially after corona.

I don't know what it is, but the brethren just bother me. Like something just isn't right. I don't know if it's because I see how Isaiah and other scriptures paint us as corrupt, or if it is the spirit telling me, but I just feel a sense of contempt for them. Maybe it's because they don't seem to speak plainly as the scriptures do, but deep down I wonder if perhaps they are leading members to accept the coming antichrist and not the actual Christ. Consider that over the last 100+ years we do not have any of them going around healing or preaching with any degree of power. No miracles, or any straightforward testimony that they have even seen Christ or even an angel. Yet, in just a 3.5 year time span, Christ walked on water, turned water to wine, raised the dead, made the blind see, and the lame walk. Peter and the other disciples picked up where Christ left off, just as Christ said they should, and became famous for doing similar miracles and healings. Those miracles were the power of godliness to those in the flesh. It was done in front of believers and unbelievers that they might know that God was real so that they might believe. As a result of that power they were hated and persecuted. Fast forward to now and what do we have? Wheat among the tares and foolish among the wise. Why? Because there is no power being made manifest to divide them. They grow together. The wolves among the sheep are suffered to be among us because there is no shepherd to drive them out, and thus we labor for money instead of laboring for Zion because there is no charity at the top.

I have thought about this a bit. I think it would be terribly ironic if the anti-christ was directly connected to the LDS church somehow. As far as the leaders though, I have learned to forgive them and see them as products of the church which produced them. They are very likely doing the best they know how, however what they were taught was simple church doctrine. Therefore, it is the membership, as a whole, that is really to blame. If the members were more aware then we would have more aware leaders.
@FFM115
@FFM115 5 месяцев назад
The church’s main efforts are new members and the international market, so they have to keep things light to some extent. The church is definitely not Zion and will never be Zion except for the true repentant members. Most members get confused with the events preceding the coming of the Lord. Isaiah explains these events in more details. I don’t blame the church leaders because they themselves don’t understand Isaiah’s prophecies, in fact they misunderstand them and attribute events that hasn’t happened yet, to the church. Hopefully we’ll repent from our misunderstandings and take the scriptures more seriously.

you show that there is no proof of priesthood or that the endowment is from God other than baptism for the dead, that the temple is a pay to go building yet you show some sort of reverence for it. Time to throw away those terrible traditions of our fathers. (by the way, Nelson is using filters to display him as more youthful, if indeed it is even him and not AI) Can't sit on that fence forever.
@uncorrelatedmormonism

I have reverence to the concept of the temple and the people who go in there thinking that what they are doing is God's will. God honors intention more than acts. I don't however think the LDS endowment is required to get to God.
