A bit of cultural context that I think helps is that I'm pretty sure that dancer with the blue body paint is a representation of Kali. Kali is not gentle, she is not kind. She is RAGE. Kali's rage will not only not lave you alive, it will not leave you intact. Her art literally shows her holding severed heads and drinking blood. All that said, her rage is justified, righteous, the whole point of the song. I have to think she blesses it.
The way she stares into my soul at that one point in the video, kinda like, "What are you doing about all this, little man?" God damn, it gives me chills every time.
The song is all about beating the crap out of Rapist & Abusers and i am totally in for it 100%. Talking sense into those Animals will not do justice they need good thrashing to make them understand their fault. De dana de dana de de de🤜 🤛 😡
This was literally the very first song of theirs I heard and the fact that the very first lyric was "I put a fist through the face of a rapist", I literally had to do a double take! That moment, I knew this band was something special! Metal made from the rage of injustice, inequality, and societal violence! Beautiful!
"Woke up and chose violence", yeah, Bloodywood has some brutal, hard, great songs. But I have to agree, this song makes me feel angry and mad too, but in a great way.
Thank you for really paying attention to the lyrics and giving your voice in support. A sad statistic for you to digest - I don't know a single woman in my life that has not been victim to some sort of sexual violence, ranging from groping to rape. Every. Woman. I. Know. Including. Myself.
I've heard that from other women before and it's indescribably sad how prevalent this sort of behaviour from men is. Most of us just don't get how constant and widespread this shit is.
@@CaptainStarlight very true! I would never have thought it is THIS common but I've been keeping hearing stories about it for a long time now and not only from people I don't know but also from women I know and love personally and it's so sad and enraging. Seriously, the video's imagery fits extremely well because stuff like this DOES invoke the wrath of raging Kali.
Same here! All the women I'd declare as Ex-GFs or close friends had a lot of terrible sh*t to tell. Really makes you think and really makes me try to be a safe space for them. (Germany, this problem is worldwide)
I am a pacifist but I believe in self-defense and of protecting others. I do not encourage or support harm of others (very against unnecessary violence) but I am enough of a realist to know some people will never try to learn... making them actual threats to others.
really appreciate that you 1. care about the lyrics 2. aren't too proud to go back the whole way to turn CC on rather than powering through not understanding two thirds of the song 3. instantly and emphatically agreed with Raoul's first line. too often people just sit there passively letting the song happen, incurious and clearly zoned out, whereas you are tuned in and sharing your thoughts. 👍
I am 50 years old and I have not found a good reason to hit anyone. The subject of this song would drive me to violence. Most of our worlds ill's can be solved without violence, but I don't think this can be solved peacefully. Peace is not the language that these predators understand. Great reaction BTW! I wish I could give you another thumbs up as this is at least the second time I have watched this video😁
my Brother... Thank you for reacting and posting your response to the lyrics. I had to listen multiple times (then read the lyrics) to understand that this song isn't just musically a violent reaction against violence, but a musically and lyrically violent reaction against violence against women. Music, like all forms of art, stands on the shoulders of it's predecessors. This song is, in my opinion, the most powerful reaction against rape and suppression of women, that has ever been made... period. I love this band's music from the days of the cover of Ari Ari. They have gone miles beyond what I ever expected from them.
OMG Dave, you are adorable. Please keep doing reactions, especially to Bloodywood!! (But DO NOT watch Yaad unless you are in an exceptionally good headspace. It will wreck you.)
They remind me so much of Rage against the Machine. Harder, true, but with the same passion. And I am glad that they call a cow a cow. No political correctness or holding back. Love the love, keep it up!
I took a little bit to sub to you, but you might just be one of the best reactors and lyric analyzers on this platform, it's basically your niche, and you do an awesome job of it. Bought their album one day before the release, let me tell you, it'll blow your mind, I really hope you do a reaction of all their songs. Much love from Brazil bro.
@@whatitdodave mine too Dave, and this track went hard. Note one thing, when Jayant talks about saints he's saying people present themselves as saints but when you pull back the curtains they're abusive and that needs to stop.
8:13 this is the best interpretation of what I feel after listening to this band. I will 1 day try to be the change instead of waiting for 1. Now that's the power of a good song and a band that has the skills to empower their listeners. The one important thing in the lyrics that everyone should pay attention is to the reference to "nameless faces" referring to those victims who have been so terrorized that they cannot even come out and speak out about the injustice they have suffered. I think that is the main point of the song that they should not feel ashamed about the horrible indecency they had to suffer but we as a society and the world should help them to at least find closure by changing the mind of their offenders.
Culturally in some countries female victims of such crimes face at least being ostracized for speaking out about being attacked. And there are far worse punishments. Here..we have law enforcement so those that might want to commit such crimes have to consider facing justice. But in some countries not only can you get away with it but the victim can be victimized again by family and/or the community so while this seems like a brutal solution...at least it would make some actually fear retribution.
It's 4 am, I just happened upon your video here, never seen your channel before. I really enjoyed this! I don't typically watch reaction videos but having heard Dana Dan yesterday for the first time, you came up on my recommendations. I love how into the music you got. The lyrics. The energy. Everything. You didn't just take it as face value, you paid attention to it all, not just how it sounds or the vibe it gives off, which is something a lot of people I know fail to do. I appreciated this very much.
Had the same reaction u had at the beginning the first time...it hit me like a damn thunder... Lyrically they are brutal, this band has melted everything so well...
Dayumn ... I feel you bro. Love Bloodywood, its bloody good! The day I started listening to this song, 4 days back, I have been only listening to this. So f'kin energetic. Its like a 800lb bomb unleashed on you!
this video makes me so happy i don't normally watch reaction videos but seeing people reacting to bloodywood is such a joy for me. you're super kind and i like what you had to say about the song, definite instant subscribe!!
I was waiting for this reaction, please do the album reaction you mentioned. I think you'll enjoy "Zanjeero Se"...its not as hard but definitely has a vibe to it.
You need to do the album reaction, its a 10/10 album and definitely album of the year 2022. Side note reply to your last Bloodywood reaction, you should invest in some decent headphones, theres a few wireless ones out there that produce pretty much the same audio as wired ones. You will get to hear the music with better quality than those ear pieces.
Haha i love your response! Your head movements are what my heart does every time I listen. I love that there's so much going on and I love how wild it is, wakes you up first thing in the morning. Gets my arteries shaking 😆 Respect to Raoul for being a pacifist but in the face of danger will rise to the challenge and cause destruction hence the ladies in blue representing Kali the goddess of destruction in Hinduism.
absolutly love this band and your reaction it was so much fun keep up the awesome work, hope you do an album reaction but if you don't i understand and i already know this is going to be album of the year for me
Damn... Your reacts are hilarious. Remember me when we was teenagers with friends and listen new metal songs in our bedroom. But I think your even crazier.😂♥️
Nice video! :) You definitely have to check out the song "Aaj" from bloodywood! It's so damn epic and the message behind it is very empowering! :) Have a good one! Cheers!
Your reactions are awesome. If you like songs with a lot of meaning please check out the color morales suicide stigma. This band is going places, bloodywood is the next big thing!
