This is one of the most elaborate discussion/analysis of this poem available online. Thank You. Regarding the last stanza and the use of the word "Spies" I have my own interpretation, I would like to share if you don't mind😊 Spies here could also mean that their love though open for everyone to see, is still exclusive to the lovers. The others can see it, read about it or talk about it, but never really be a part of it. So they can only spy upon their love and adore it from Outside as they epitomize it.
Thank you so much! And now that I think of it, your interpretation makes so much sense. This is indeed the joy of poetry- one can never succeed in containing it and God be praised that such is the case. Thank you again.
@@Pratyanchaherehello ma'am please tell me how to study poetries for UPSC eng optional as I've chosen it and I found your lecture the best on RU-vid 🌸
Ma'am I really like the passion that dawns on your face when you teach poetry. Really! Very good explanation. Thanks. I have fallen in love with this poem and To his Coy mistress after seeing your videos.
I have watched a lot of video on your channel and it really feels like I'm sitting in my class in college and understanding poems line by line. Such a good work ma'am. Really appreciated!
this is one of the most beautiful video ever, made every line, every meaning so clear... i am preparing for UPSC and English literature is my optional and there are so much limited options that are available for clarification but this is really helpful. Thank You
Hi i'm also goin to take as optional, let me know about it how was it whether it is difficult or moderate level to prepare? and whethere there is any utube videos for all topics? how could u feel it by preparing it?
Pratyancha has uploaded multiple John Donne pieces under the playlist titled Metaphysical poets. The link is given here: Metaphysical Poets: ru-vid.com/group/PL_AFlUySAiNAzJkWzKM06G3o_0IjvjIAE
Your English is amazing ma'am, and the way you explain is so clear and good to hear and understand, so expressive... Overall you are awesome.. God bless
I've gone through a lot of books and videos to leap into 'The Canonization'. But this video i think is a one stop masterpiece. It helped a lot. Thanks you so much. Note:- Or chide my palsy, or my gout. This line is a bit deviation from the track.
Mam I really love your way of explanation ..... I have one request mam can you plz teach us according to UP TGT ,LT grade ,UP PGT syllabus bcoz there is nothing has great explanation like you on You Tube plzzzzz ......Consider my request there is many Aspirants who are preparing for these exams🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can u please come up with more poems of John Donne? Death be not proud. The good morrow. On his mistress going to bed. The relic. Pls do explain all these mam...no other teacher explains as good as you...I really need your explanation on these poems....pls do🙏...hope u understand 😊
This superb.....ma'am I am preparing for upsc and my optional is English literature and this poem is in the syllabus and the explanation is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGG
This is a mere speculation forgive me if I'm wrong. The cold here refers to the fights they have had and the cold behaviour and attitudes that lovers often express to each other and he says that this cold behaviour of his has not impacted or caused a delay in the arrival of spring. Their arguments or love has never brought about any changes in the cycle of nature.
It's not an argument, but an interpretation that we were taught by our Professors. It was not a conceit but a metaphor alone. I'm sorry if you found this observation wrong.
It was such a beautiful and pure explanation of the poem... Like every single word and every single line was so beautifully explained. Thankyou so much ma'am❤🤗
Ma'am according to me , the line in stanza three "were tapers to , at or own cost we die" may interpret that The lovers love at their own risk , it may not bother other people whether they feel sorrow or they get low in love life or they die for ech other . it's their lives so if they burn themselves to illuminate each other's life no one should say anything about them LET THEM LOVE . idk ma'am if I'm correct it just striked my mind , pls do correct me 🌸
@@Pratyanchahere Thanks a lot. Are you planning to make videos on Shakespeare’s plays anytime? If not, can I still learn from you through some other way?
Ma'am love the way you explain the poems. Please make a video on Thangjam Ibopishak's ‘Dali, Hussain, or Odour of Dream, Colour of Wind’ and ‘The Land of the Half-Humans’, tr. Robin S. Ngangom, It will be really helpful as during this time we cannot resume to our normal classes.
Ma'am , it's my humble request to you, please make videos on Tintern Abbey, Michael and Ode to Intimations of Immorality , by W. Wordsworth 🙏🏻 I love the way u express everything and makes us understand❤️
