On Naturally Inquisitive, meet chemistry/biochemistry professor Paul Pantano, PhD, who teaches analytical chemistry at UT Dallas and is very much concerned with taking precise measurements and with developing methods to detect carbon nanotubes in biological cells, which are carbon-based, making detection quite the challenge.
He directs students to “trust but validate” the results! He also teaches statistics to help students learn how to interpret data and make decisions about the data.
Pantano, who hails from Los Angeles originally, describes people as the greatest asset of the School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas. And he finds both the city of Dallas and UTD to be just right in terms of size.
