I was waiting for someone to break down his gameplay against the Giants. He looks good and should only improve as time goes on and he gets back into football shape. I was really rooting for this guy as someone who's been through adversity myself. I wanted to see him overcome it. He's well on his way if he keeps this level of play up.

@shaneward9192 Nah, he said in an interview when he 1st got to philly that he was a step behind still because he was unable to run for 6mons. and still needed to get his legs under him. That sounds like he was not in football shape he looked out of shape during the 1st game he played in for us, and that's why we eased him back in slowly. When I say football shape, I mean running and changing direction at an elite level like he used to. He may have had the stamina to play every snap, which means he was in football shape cardio wise, but his legs were still not used to playing football and not in football shape. It's 1 thing to just run it's another thing to run and change direction in a football game. He's getting his legs under him now. Indy was too quick to give up on him and should have given him a chance to get his legs under him, but I get it they found a new stud at LB.

A LB who knows his assignment and where to be on each play. What a concept! With Maddox back, Shaq finding his groove, and hopefully the D line figuring out how to get pressure again, this D could make some noise in the playoffs.

Yes the last games are creampuffs but they re still professional athletes. If anything these games can be confidence boosters and help the defense gel into Patricia's defense.. I guess it's luke training/pre season games at end of season before playoffs start

the 10:30 play is the same play that scored a TD earlier. Instead of shooting his gap on the second play he slow rolls it because of trust of the either LB. I was trying to cover his gap and the other LB gap

I think on the play talked about at the 9 min mark I think if Leonard waited another sec before just shooting the gab he would have saw the blocking and could have shot that A gap for the stop. But idk i think he needed to read and react instead of just shooting the gab and hoping thats where the play is. But that could have been the call idk

On that touchdown 57 is flat footed as hell! Instead of being diligent he’s waiting for the play to develop. You have to stick your nose in there sometimes. Jordan Davis did an amazing job taking up 2 bodies for him to hit Saquon.

@dennismurray4088 Yes, his speed and wingspan help a lot, but I think his instincts in coverage and ability to quickly process and diagnose a play is what makes him good in coverage more so than his physical abilities. Shaq doesn't just try to fill a space in coverage. If someone runs into his box, he runs with them, so a window doesn't open up after the receiver goes past him. A lot of LBs do not do this, and it's the reason good QBs can find open receivers in the middle of the field thru tight windows cause most LBs just sit down in an area and don't run with the guy coming thru their zone. That's what seperates Shaq and makes him elite imo.

Leonard played well, but he read the wrong gap on a td run, otherwise I saw energy and confidence albeit against a below average team. It completely possible he's still getting acclimated. He could be heating up right when we need him. Go birds

On the Barkley touchdown, Cox was double teamed and Leonard should have went to the right gap of that double team and stopped Barkley. Instead, he went straight into the double team and gave Barkley a clear lane to the end zone. All of the other plays of him that you showed proves your point that he's already the best linebacker they have. Number 57 also should have went there but he's one of those confused Defensive players that we see every week on this team that allows plays like that to happen when they shouldn't He just stood there and watched Barkley come right through. Also, I keep hearing people commenting on the Defensive line play, saying that they must be tired or some other dump idiotic $HIT! They are being double and triple teamed on almost every play in EVERY game! They get no help (as you see in the play above from the linebackers and secondary, who constantly aide in extending the drives of the opposing teams or the inexperienced Defensive coordinator and head coach who rarely attack an opponents QB with additional pressure. All of the teams that the Eagles face seem to blitz a high amount of times. The Eagles almost never blitz.
