The 2024 CrossFit Games have come and gone but the effect of what happened will stay with us forever well beyond what the events were this weekend. Today we attempt to take a step back and objectively look at the programming of the 2024 CrossFit Games.

The dickies triplet was fun because it was a short run with staggered distance start. It wasn’t if people paced it right. It was that certain lanes started with a meters advantage that went away with each round (like they had designed). Similar to Helena

Good job you guys... This was a much more entertaining episode then other people doing a games review. Me wanting to listen the entire way

Chase - what application do you use for your presentations?! You could see if there is a “View Version History” to try to save your old presentations. In the future, you should “Make a Copy” aka Duplicate the Presentation so all the content automatically goes to the new presentation and then you can rename it!

I love a knock out event but given the cleans were one of the only heavy events, do you think those athletes that made it through were more “beat up” and at a disadvantage on Sunday? How do you balance knock outs in this case?
@getwiththeprogramming
@getwiththeprogramming Месяц назад
That event was so easy for the athletes that made it through that no one would feel anything going into the last day.

Any ideas on why the programming went wrong this year? Dave has done this enough times to know what he’s doing. From the outside it seems like the inclusion of Chad and the lack of outdoor events were major limitations

This was a great episode, but I feel like it missed the elephant in the room. Can we discuss and evaluate programming responsibly without taking into account athlete safety?
@billgrundler328
@billgrundler328 Месяц назад
I don’t think we talk athlete “safety” as a part of programming. We will analyze what is appropriate and needed to test certain aspects of the program for a complete test. I’m not sure why you are saying “elephant in the room”.

Chase stepping it up with the visuals! Kinda bummed by this years events. Event two would have been a laughing stock. Overall winner didnt touch a "heavy" weight, and it didnt matter. 4 modalities of running. Loved watching farington field and the final events for the show but the totality of the event left something to be desired. If event 3 was 9-7-5 amanda with 225-245 or 45 reloaded with 185-205, and event 8 was reworked to remove the run and include a heavier implement, i think this would be a better test. Maybe heavy double unders and 70# double kb c&j. Anywho thanks for the recap!

Great episode, I was waiting for the thumbs ups scores and graphs😁 About the hammer swing: is it possible to think of it as a skill movement mostly for accuracy and coordination, not strength? Especially with that alternating hand... Something like a heavy jump rope: we won't even think of measuring how high you jump or how fast you turn the rope. But the person who won't trip (break) gets through the fastest. It is really just not suited for competition at all?
