so so so valid! reminding everyone that The Idol was supposed to be a female-directed series about the unseen struggles of women in hollywood. until the weeknd decided to hire sam levinson to fulfill his weird p0rn fantasy depictions, because abel felt like the story didn't center HIM 💀

i finished this show for the sake of jennie, but they obviously just used her for exposure due to how little her screen time is in the actual show. i did NOT get the plot of this show at all, it's just a product of a male fantasy that was masked as a "dEeP sHoW" to make it an edgier version of soft p***. 😭

talking about women being sexualized in movies. i suggest the movie "The Handmaiden". it's a sapphic story about two women swindling men. when you ranted about how men consider 'women + sex' empowerment this movie is the first to pop up. i won't spoil much but it shows women escaping and overcoming the male gaze this movie became controversial in Korea because, besides it being a queer movie, they consider this a feminist movie and they don't like feminism there 😅

I finished the idol and every part had me grossed out, the only thing why i watched was jennie. my friend who's in the bdsm and kink community said it was all about trust, communication and safety and not all sexual since a lot are asexual and said breath play was frowned upon since it causes death mostly by men even though the safe word was said.
