For the 35mm Leica lens we had to remove the OLPF from the RED Helium because it extends to far into the camera mount, hitting it. This can cause some different colors.

Equipment:
Camera: RED WEAPON HELIUM 8K
Taking lenses: Leitz Cine Wetzlar / Leica M0.8 (leitz-cine.com/m-08-cine-lenses/)
Anamorphic projection lens: Sankor Type-5e
Focus diopter: RECTILUX HARDCORE DNA
Camera and DaVinci Resolve settings:
Resolution: S35 - 8K 6:5

Hi Lucas, hope you're well mate. I just wanted to check which coating colour version of the Sankor 5e you used for this review. The reason I ask is because at 50mm F1.4 the flares are green and yellow/amber. However, on all other taken lenses they appear purple. Did you use both of your Sankor 5e's on this test or just the one? If one, what do you think causes the shift in flare colour?

The taking lens (or more its coating) has an impact the flares, but also wide open behave different from stopped down performance. This test was only a purple coated 5e. Good luck finding one though, I know of exactly two copies with these coatings, haha :)

this adapter seems to be very special and unique , has its own vibe.. I say modern, with a hint of vintage vibe, over all this might be the best I have tested also, when it comes to taking lens width )one of the widest, color, flares (i have blue coated version) ,with minimal side distortion and very good modern sharpness. Also it has minimal white glare when hit by light source. How do you feel about it ? I know you also have a few nice adapters, thanks for the test!

question 1: why could u use 35mm lens on it? i have seen another user who tested that it can only work with 40mm lens at widest on 16:9 of full frame~~~question 2: is there single focus resolution u suggest?thank u~~~

@@Shido_Lin I'm not sure if I understand your first question. This is not a fullframe camera? Also, I'm not sure why anyone should care for 16:9 with a 2x scope? Regarding single focus solution, it depends on what you need and what you can afford. The Hardcore DNA (used here) is around 10% wider than an FVD-16a, quality wise it's around the same, but cots more, is bigger, weights more. The FVD-35a is even more expensive but covers a lot, but also super heavy and big. I'd not really invest in other single focus solutions than those

so u used leica 35mm on s35 mode which is 26-52.5mm from 0:30 to 2:20 of ur video???
