Anand was clearly unhappy with this draw, so much so that he said he considered the Armageddon win a loss. He was angry at himself for throwing away a clear advantage in the classical match. The interview with the commentators was unique and I could clearly sense his unhappiness. Edit: If people get the chance please do watch the interview.
@sjsjsjjm mswmswmsw what are you talking?? Vishy was clearly leading in this whole game until RC6, which enabled Carlsen to bring queen into the game. Also, watch his interview with the commentators, he didn't like that he dropped the clear advantage.
@sjsjsjjm mswmswmsw Anand's first sentence was ' I would have taken the win in Armageddon on any other day but today I think of it as a loss'. He also said that he didn't do anything during the break between Classical and Armageddon because he was unhappy at throwing away the advantage. The interviewer ended by saying ' You've beat Carlsen and are in the lead yet a disappointing day, Sorry'.
One of the most resourceful attackers versus one of the most resilient defenders, watching this game live was an incredible experience, everyone was looking at Sesse and saying Magnus is dead lost, yet he keeps finding precise defensive moves after another and finally when Anand slips up, he immediately finds the correct sequence (Bf8 was a super difficult Sesse move to find and he found it relatively quickly) and brings the evaluation back to 0.00, it was unbelievable.
As much as I am enjoying this newfound domination by Anand, it is still exciting to see how Magnus is able to come back in to the game at the slightest whiff of opportunity provided by his opponent. That is the stuff of champions.
Witnessing Anand's return in such fashion is the most exciting thing in the chess world by far. Not only is he still obliterating engines with his usual creativity but also putting huge contenders like Carlsen into very awkward positions. So glad Vishy has found a way to stay motivated about chess...
Beat Carlsen a few days back in Blitz,Got a winning position against Carlsen in the classical, couldn't convert, so beat him in the Armageddon. Can someone remind Anand this is not 2007? Carlsen has grown up now and is the reigning world champion.
Idk what's happened to him lol, he's just completely on form. I thought he had magnus beat in classical too, was really surprised how magnus was able to hold. Let's see who wins the tournament now. Vishy could've had a 3 point lead on magnus instead of 0.5
We see how Magnus obliterates 2700 players, and then we see him against another champ...its just so much different. Hard to imagine that Carlsen would have exactly 0 chances of winning throughout the whole game. Vishy is on fire
Well said! I am also here to learn how to invest after listening to a lady on tv talk about the importance of investing and how she made 7 figure in 3 month, somehow the video taught me nothing and left me even more confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas on how to invest for retirement
@@rajeshupadhyay5683 lookup Priscilla Dearmin-Turner, this is her name online, she's the real investment prodigy since the crash and have help me recovered my loses
#suggestion Hello Antonio, can you please bring back picture challenge like good old days? It was superfun and we all love the small stories or information you add before the analysis of game. I have been watching your videos since a long time and really appreciate your videos :)
given the confidence in my abilities 'm sure it would have been checkmate in max M3 when the flip occurs, so it may actually help 😂 On a serious note, thanks to Agadmator for covering the games so nicely as always 🤟
@@251rmartin funny, during this video I though about, how much advantage do I need, to have a slight of a chance against a GM. Ranked like 1600, but without any classic training, so sadly I blunder a lot in opening against stronger player :(
@@alon3304 To dominate Magnus like this at this age is already a great wake up call for the world that the old tiger is not dead, and can hunt anyone in thw world
I was watching it live but had to go to bed. Anand was winning and I thought I would wake up to his magnificent win. Carlsen really pulled a rabbit out of the hat to save this game with P-c4. Anand must so annoyed to have missed Q-g4.
@@baidde5110 Yet he still won the tournament, so it doesn't matter. You guys act like he's not allowed to ever lose or he loses his goat status. He's still the best there ever was, and his top rating of all time proves that.
I am not surprised with Vishy but certainly with magnus how can someone draw from such a paralyzed situation against someone like Vishy . Magnus is no doubt the 🐐
@AlHasan Sameh Yet here you are spreading your toxicity, and that's not ruining the chess community? Magnus is still the player with the highest rating in chess history, and as good as Vishy is, he still never hit 2800. Like it or not, Magnus is the goat of chess, and he will be for a long time.
At a buffet, I personally sneak corn into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 boiled corn ears in my jacket pockets. It is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corn thinking they were part of the buffet.
Great Video as always. Would it be possible to include the evaluation bar in your analysis? I always like to see how it reacts on each move. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Things feel emptier with Magnus sliding out of the picture. We love how the images of these games are all smiles from the players. Though deep down they are feeling all kinds of emotions during actual play.
Whenever I hear the word Draw, I always ponder upon further scratching my head..then Agadmator, as if reads my mind, shows the end game to confirm it..shows my knowledge level as well 😅
In top chess you have in growing order: - GM post ELO inflation - GM pre ELO inflation - 2800+ super GM and then you have world champions in a completely different category.
What the heck did I just watched? It feels like world championship match and a 30 minutes highlight. I also think that anand is gonna win this easily but ended in a draw
After Anand Nf5 then f6 from Magnus protects everything. If Anand tried Nd6 then Rd7 ends the threat and Kf7 is coming to unpin the bishop and still protect it. Were they low on time?
I don't think you can give a mere 10 second increment after move 40 and call it a classical game. It becomes blitz after move 40. Players prefer to already know the result before going beyond move 40 or just go for draw.
Very happy bunny. I found both those moves. Maybe I should ask for a game with Magnus. Mind you, after watching this video I'm going to turn to my own games on Chessworld, where I'm losing 3 out of 6 at the moment against 1600 and 1700 players, and have already lost another where I didn't see a checkmate from 1 move away, so maybe not.
12.02 'rook to c6, we r gonna promote pawn into a queen..' Ok it's rook c8. The pawn could promote to queen by directly taking the rook right? Antonio did like that just becouse he was hurring, correct? I ask becouse I m learning. Thx.
Can someone please explain why at 2:30 the white bishop capture the black bishop at d5 when the white pawn at e4 can do it? and then if knight captures pawn, the bishop can take knight?
and the live bishop would have double pinned the knight on C6, if knight moved then bishop could capture the rook, 2 for 3 trade. and since you were already willing to sacrifice the bishop, why not take down another piece with it?
2:30 well if he captured by pawn then he would have a light square bishop alive. im not a chess pro, hardly 1500 elo but isnt a white square bishop more valuable than a doubled up pawn? idk please help me edit:- and the live bishop would have double pinned the knight on C6, if knight moved then bishop could capture the rook, 2 for 3 trade. and since you were already willing to sacrifice the bishop, why not take down extra piece with it?
