That move rook to G1 felt so bad. I didn't find the correct move order, but since I knew black would capture and open up the file for my rook, I didn't even think of moving it. It was brilliant game but couldn't appreciate it that much because of that moment.
People who don't believe this is legit I think are missing the fact that back in 2000 engines were not good enough to take over a game where they are massively down after the opening and beat elite level human players. Engines were not reliably better than humans until a few years after this and that's not considering throwing away the first few moves as was done here. This is a person and it being Bobby Fischer playing anonymously makes perfect sense.
Isnt Nxb7 the first kind of move you look at? A pawn is hanging and it comes with an attack on a rook. Course lining up that rook with our queen makes it look bad and dismiss it, but still.
I see a commenter giving props to Agad for doing one-shot videos, and to hell with the mistakes, hold-ups and interruptions. Yes, it's nice to have it in one shot, I guess. But not at the expense of the hold-ups and interruptions. I'm sorry Agad, much as you seem like a decent person, I'm going to stop watching if you're not professional enough to stop and redo your videos if you get a call in the middle of them. It looks really bad. You're a professional presenter, and accepting a call while presenting is very poor. This is how you make your living, right? So do a professional job of it.
The flaw of attacking players is that they are too confident in their defensive capabilities... He accepted all pawn sacrifices.. encouraging opponents idea is not the way
When Alireza's playing well, there is virtually nothing he cannot do. The problem is he hasn't been very consistent since 2022 because of the distractions around him. Also, it seems to be his Classical games that have taken more of a hit than faster formats. It could mean his natural talents are still there, but he just hasn't spent as much time as his should studying full-time, allowing his opponents to out-prepare him in Classical.
