Loved this video! I volunteer at the surgery department at Palomar Hospital and this video acted as a great refresher in regards to anatomical positions. The surgeons almost always use anatomical positions and watching this video made me more educated on what specific location they are talking about!
MEDA 115 Spring 2021: These basics of A&P is a foundation of what we are expected to learn in other MEDA classes. I’m really impressed by how you make it simple and refreshing for all of us to understand!
This video helped me to brush up on the anatomical positions and did a thorough job doing so. It's also important to note how important these positions are when you're dealing with certain types of patients (ex: geriatrics and pregnant women).
MESA MEDA 55/FALL 2020 - Very easy to remember with how you have explained everything. Got it! SUPERIOR (cranial) - above INFERIOR (claudal) - bottom POSTERIOR or DORSAL - back ANTERIOR or VENTRAL - front MEDIAL - midline LATERAL - away from midline PROXIMAL - close DISTAL - far SUPERFICIAL - towards DEEP - away from Thank you again Professor!
Fully understanding anatomical position is absolutely crucial for anyone going into the medical field. This video was very helpful for me. Thanks for providing a few examples at the end. It helped a lot! (BIOL 327, Section 03)
Nice refresher. Thanks for pointing out how that "cranial" can be used interchangeably with "superior", and "caudal" can be used interchangeably with "inferior".
After reading about the Anatomical Positions in our reading material, I was able to understand how dorsal and posterior were the same but I had some trouble with ventral and anterior. I appreciate the explanation from you, thank you!
This is always a good lesson to brush up my memory on after taking Anatomy almost 2 years ago. Thanks for including other terms for each position- superior/cranial, posterior/dorsal, etc.
I found it very helpful to see you point out the difference between proximal and distal. I also learned something new which was that the terms for direction can be used interchangeably. I never thought about something being superior and also medial, but once you explained it I was able to think of several things to help me better understand.
This is a great review to help the terminology stick. I like that you mentioned the other words that they are refered to as well. Something I struggle in so that is helpful. Thanks! -Meda 110 Summer 2021
Great video! I learned all about the anatomical position with the help of this video. I learned that anatomical positions are helpful for surgeons and help to know the exact position of interest. Superior is also known as cranial and it means above, this refers to the skull. Below refers to inferior also known as caudal, this refers to the tail bone. Front and back are known as posterior or dorsal (back) and anterior or ventral (front). I honestly did not know much about the anatomical position before this lesson. So, thank you for that helpful lesson in the anatomical position!!
I will save this video for future use. It is a quick way to get a refresher on anatomical positions. Cranial and caudal are two terms that I did not realize could be used interchangeably with superior and inferior.
It's crazy how there's so many different terms in the medical field. It's interesting how there's some people who haven't taken Anatomy or any related class and they wouldn't know what these terms mean. You explained them very clearly.
I took anatomy class few years ago, I just tried to memorize anatomical position with picture at that time to pass quiz. If I see this video at that time, it should be really helpful to understand. His examples are really informative!
MEDA 110, mesa college, summer 2020: These videos are great. I love the way the information is presented and I really appreciate the neat writing and colors used.
Great video explination of the anatomical positions! I think this video. could be. used in anatomy classes. because it gives such quality yet quick explanation.
This is a great video. When I viewed this video I thought I had already knew all the anatomical positions, however this as a great refresher. I needed this!!!
MEDA 55 summer 2020 I understand the anatomical positions but using the examples really helped me fully understand more, especially the example of the brain to the heart. I was thinking only superior but it’s great to see it can be more than one.
This video was interesting because when he mentioned the purpose of anatomical position when it comes to surgery I thought this was so crucial. I have multiple loved ones who have gone through surgery so this form of language is vita for those who are going through surgery.
43017 MEDA 55 Fall 2020: Love this video! I hear these terms almost everyday and this is a great refresher if you don't. Not only is this great for surgeons or anyone in the medical field, this is also great for people taking a personal trainer exam. When you workout the posterior chain you are working behind you, example: back.
Brooke Roland MEDA 110 Summer 2020, I had a difficult time remembering what dorsal and ventral meant and I would get mixed up if the question used those terms instead of posterior and anterior but after watching this video it will be much easier for me to remember that dorsal and ventral are just different names for posterior and anterior.
The anatomical position I believe is very important to wen it comes to surgery and knowing exactly how wand where the position is for an operation. However, its very important to have a refresher of knowing what natomical is
BIO 175 FALL 19; At the beginning of the semester I struggled understanding especially when there is other words for the same thing such as posterior and dorsal. I kept thinking they were two different things and would have to refer back to my notes to make sure I was correct.
I would prefer to view this particular video on a different format. When you walk behind the lettering it makes it hard to see. But still an awesome video
MESA_MEDA110 Fall 2020: Wow, I actually never thought about how simple things like positions and locations within the body have to basically use a different language to be understood and correctly communicated between professionals. Insightful and easier to understand now :)
Medical terminology is so important in the health field. This video helped get a better understanding of the different anatomical positions. Very informative! -MEDA115 Fall 2021 Jessica Ramirez
These are all terms that I was familiar with from neuroanatomy classes but it was good refresher and helped to explain the concepts differently than previous professors. MEDA110 Summer 2021
MEDA110-25576: Thank you for including the other terms that mean the same for superior and inferior. I had no idea these terms also meant the same so when i first saw these terms throughout the class I was a bit confused. You always learn something new everyday
