Garbage - at no point did he actually explain the proper mechanism of uncoupling. There's a lot of hand waving here (1:09) where he tries to tell us that 2,4-Dinitrophenol (2,4DNP) somehow prevents the gradient from forming, but here (1:25) he gets the mechanism wrong "these hydrogens don't go into the intermenbrane space"....WRONG. The ETC complexes work just fine pumping protons into the intermembrane space as per normal. How uncoupling works is that agents such as 2,4DNP cause the membrane to leak protons back into the matrix or thermogenin actively transports protons back into the matrix. Beware of online self=styled "professors"...he's no prof.

Just by looking, it seems like the comments are being used as a discussion post for a medical class. I'm taking Medical Terminology, and according to my book, a cause for hyperinsulinism outside of diabetes is an adenoma in the pancreas. I took an interest in this particular topic because I have been experiencing hand tremors since I was 19, and have had labs done as well as a neurological exam with no answers. I think that I am experiencing hypoglycemia and because they didn't test my insulin levels, I think that I could have hyperinsulinism. I'm not sure of course, I'm not a doctor, but I am going to ask about it when I go back. The tremor goes away when I eat regular, balanced meals at more frequent intervals than I normally do.
