Last video in the series as we tackle the end of the song in the dark, no electricity, 85F in the house at 11pm 😂 we finally broke down and got a hotel shortly thereafter but yeah it was a time lol. You can hear our neighbor's generator running in the background lol (they burned it out by day 4 having the pool lights on all night, running the backyard fans full blast...serves them right for flexing...lol!)
Anyways not much to say here except the intro returns as the outro, to wrap things up in a nice symmetrically satisfying way. And that does it for the arrangement part, and we're gonna just put the lid on this and let it cook for however long it needs to actually feel and sound ok, so we're looking at many hours of practicing, agonizing, leaving it alone for a week, throwing it into the trash, fishing it out of the trash, changing things, over and over for weeks until I don't hate it lol. So you guys won't see hide or hair of this one for a very long time, which is more of less typical for me when it comes to arrangements--I started this one back in April, so it's about two months to write and 1-2 months to learn.
Although it was fun to document my process and share it with you guys, and I'm so grateful some of you found it interesting, I don't know if I'll do a series like this again. On the one hand it was good to have some accountability to stay on track so it didn't fall by the wayside like about 50% of my arrangements do, but on the other hand it messed with my workflow in ways I didn't like, ironically because I felt like I couldn't walk away from it and focus on something else. Usually since arrangements take me about 3-4 months from inception to final recording I prefer to stagger the projects and shift focus from one to the other, but I felt I couldn't give this one a break and I still don't know if that's ultimately a good thing or a bad thing. I just...didn't like that feeling lol. I'll probably stick to shorts for now or do a less exhaustive blow by blow quasi real time progress thing, maybe a summary, but I'm glad i did put my process out there--making arrangements is painfully tedious and ugly as you all can see lol, so thank you so so much for sticking around and watching these messy progress vids!!! Love you guys! ❤️❤️❤️
