With a week to go until UFC 262 in Houston, I spent a day in the life of UFC Lightweight Beneil Dariush in Southern California as he was set to leave for Houston the next day. Dariush is a man that is God Fearing, who a month away from becoming a father for the first time and him and his wife Victoria has built a life for themselves that also sees charity work through the eyes of GOD in Haiti. For a man to be born in the middle east and discover fighting at 18, Benny as they call him, has truly made a career in fighting through hard work, self belief and faith. Now he takes on the legendary Tony Ferguson in a fight that could define both of their lives. This is "7 Days Out" with Beneil Dariush.

Got beneil winning. I think he does it by top control in half guard for the majority for the 3 rounds, with a bit of early first round brawling back and forth and then a bit more in the third round. I see Tony half locking in a submission later but beneil scrambles his way out when they slippery and gets back to the half guard top control, landing some ground and pound at a slow but effective pace to a unanimous decision of 30-27 orr potentially a 30-26 with some bad gnp at the end of the third. If it was 5 rounds I'd give tony of a chance but I'm going 65:35 Beneil

It’s insane how you capture a great side of these people, I don’t see any of the fighters as open with you than with any of the main media members. I also love the relationship with Beneil and his wife. A great relationship really adds so much to ones life Beneil looks sharp and focused, might be a bad night my man Tony. Beneil is my lock of the night nasty black belt, you saw how easy Tony was out grappled last time. His kickboxing is nasty now. Look at his camp, Vettori , Giga, Gastellum compared to Tony running his own camp. Gaejthe took something from Tony he will never get back.

@@izzy_515 I agree. I think Beneil is more well rounded technically - but the guy just gets into brawls and abandons that. If he gets into a brawl with Tony, I dont see him winning. Tony’s last two losses were to incredibly technical fighters - Gaethje 2.0 and Oliveira

In a culture and sport of heightened self promotion, big egos and maximum narcissism, Benny appears to be a rare exception. His humble demeanor, love for the Lord and his wife is admirable. His desire to be a missionary after fighting to be in service of one of the poorest and faithless countries in the world is inspiring. Regardless of the outcome Saturday night or his career in the UFC spotlight, he is destined be a difference maker in our world. How can anyone not be on this man's bandwagon? One of the most underrated fighters in UFC cos he is genuinely a nice calm guy who happens to love fighting. I think people need to give Tony Ferguson credit- he gives people in lower rankings opportunities most of the top 10 never would. No one wants to fight a lesser name beneath them in the rankings. Hats off to the Ferguson

Props to the man behind Anatomy Of a Fighter and his business idea to document and showcase the life of UFC fighters. It reminds me of the MTV show: True Life. Great editing and thoughtful pieces that share a glimpse into the life, mindset, and character of the fighter. After watching this, I get the sense that Christianity and Religion is the big driving force behind what Beneil does in life. I think it’s fascinating that many top UFC fighters, Beneil, Khabib, Oliveira are all very religious people and that is the major influence in their lives. I personally took Jiu Jitsu classes for only a few months before I had to stop due to a back issue I was having. It’s a sport that can cause a lot physical pain, injuries, and trauma. Hats off to Beneil for staying committed to it for so many years. I wish him all the best!

Aye aye, another amazing AOF documentary. 2:20, it's a shame most MMA fans don't understand that most UFC fighters that crack the top 20, are elites or most cases champions (some multiple) in a specific combat sport usually Kickboxing, BJJ, wrestling, Muay Thai. There's a reason these elite fighters debut at 27 and older.

I believe this is Tony's last fight at the elite level. Tony is a shell of his former self who is stuck in the past, and he has surrounded himself by a bunch of Yes men who don't question or criticize him. Beneil is gonna make it look easy.
